      Horrible experience. Local attendant attempted to force me to take a Tesla with unrepaired interior damage and acted annoyed when I refused. Then on vehicle return, attendant refused to provide me with a receipt which I later found out was because they were trying to falsely charge me for smoking in the vehicle. I attempted to call the location to resolve the matter but was unable to speak to a human being at the local location. An email to corporate went unanswered. I am now spending my valuable time disputing fraudulent charges. I will NEVER use Hertz / Thrifty / Dollar again! CAVEAT EMPTOR.

      Horrible company. I rented a Hertz vehicle through Expedia and paid Expedia. I got the car from Hertz and the first day it broke down. I then had to get another vehicle after 15 calls ( 4hrs 39mins ). Then after returning the car I was billed by Hertz as well. Basically double billed. I have been trying for a month to explain this to Hertz but have gotten no where. They care less. Never ever again will I use Hertz or Expedia. Now I am going to make a video and put it on Utube. Beware of Hertz!!!

      Please never rent from Hertz. I am over $600 into a $128 rental that was returned on time but not yet checked in. Their offices are closed on weekends so you have to use a drop box. Tried to call since still being charged for the car as being unreturned. After an hour of a calling tree and being disconnected without ever reaching a person I tracked down an email from. Hit submit and boom...sorry our site hit a roadblock please try later. Ugh. Hurts is more like it. Save yourself the headache. I have never had these issues with other companies.

      Hertz was the worst experience we have ever had. The car was dirty and when we realized it and tried to call there was no answer. The car broke down and we were told they could not replace it but we could spend a day of our vacation towing it and waiting for a new car. They don’t replace faulty cars. The air didn’t work and the entire time we could not speak to anyone but a call center that said they couldn’t be off assistance. When we returned it they said that we’d have to work recouping money from the location we picked it up but they had no one answer the phones. It just disconnects when you hit the prompt for a local representative. I am not sure how this is legal.

      March 2023. I rented a car from Hertz and returned it with a full tank of gas as required. When I receipt my emailed receipt, I was charged for 3 gallons of gas at $9.99 a gallon. I was incredibly upset as this wasn't true. I tried to call customer services several times but was never able to reach a live person. I will never rent from Hertz again and I will let everyone I know the same. I had received a customer satisfaction survey from them and completed it. At the end, the message was someone would call me within 72 hrs. that never happened.

      I rented a car from Hertz as a gold member. It was 230.00 which I paid upfront online. Before I returned the car I filled the gas up and went directly from gas station to return the car. They charged me an additional 174.89 for fuel charges. They said that I returned it empty. I fought it through my AMX and sent proof but AMX said Hertz submitted their proof and the charge will stand. BEWARE of renting from Hertz . They fraudulently put through a charge that is clearly stealing from their customer.

      On March 31, 2023 went to pick up prepaid rental at ********* airport Hertz. There was a very long line. They had allowed renters of two other companies also in their line even though they didn't have enough cars. We were told it would take 1 hour to get the vehicle after check-in at counter. After an hour when I reached the counter, I was told I am a Gold member. I said I am not but the agent insisted I am and will get car in 30 minutes as Gold member. I waited for 45 minutes after checking in and that agent was gone by then. Talked to the Manager and I was told that there system said I have not checked in and no contract document could be found. The manager was very rude and I was told to wait for another hour. So after nearly an hour and 45 minutes I decided to leave Hertz with no car. Walked to next counter of Alamo and got a car at lower cost in less than 10 minutes. Will never rent a Hertz vehicle in future. Absolutely unprofessional and pathetic attitude.

      On 2/23/23, I rented a vehicle from Hertz in Pittsburgh at the airport to get me back to Rochester, NY. They put a preauthorization hold on my credit card as is normal. I returned the car the following morning around 6am at the Rochester Airport Hertz branch, and went about my business. Waiting a week, I checked my AMEX account and the full hold was still there. I reached out to AMEX and Hertz. This is where it all goes downhill. Their customer service is the worst of ANY company I've EVER had to deal with. First, after waiting days for a response, they said they processed the refund amount (the difference between the preauthorized amount and the actual [lower] bill) and to check with my bank. I go back to Amex, they prove they did not. I go back to Hertz, after more days of delayed response, they said 'sorry we made a mistake, it didn't post yet, give us the full 10 business days for it to post'. So I wait. I check again with my bank... no refund. Go back to Hertz, after almost a week waiting for a response, they then say they'll look into it. Wait another week and some, and then come back and say they won't look into any longer because 30 days elapsed. Turns out, the when the car was dropped off at the return location in Rochester at 6am, they let it sit there all day until 7p before they checked it in. If this isn't fraud, I don't know what is.

      Rented a car through hertz, couldn't reup my contract and couldn't even return the car because of how understaffed and bad the staff is. Worst customer service ever.
