      Absolutely terrible. We were supposed to have a vehicle ready by 4PM, as stated in a phone call that I received at 11. Called multiple times and the answer was always the same were waiting on cars and then theyd hang up on us. Hertz is a joke. Oh and they put insurance related situations at the top of the priority list. Pfffft. Oh but we could drive an hour and sit there if we wanted to in case there was a drop off.

      Doesn't their own guarantee & immediate refusal versus actually investigating. I have been a Hertz gold member for a number of years & have not had any major issues with Hertz. I recently booked a rental @NY airport. I found a much lower rate on Expedia for the same car @ Hertz. Hertz has a Best Rate Guarantee, which basically states if a better rate was found online for Hertz with same pickup & return locations, dates, times, country & car type within 24-hours of Hertz.com booking, they will give you that rate plus an additional 10%. Hertz's immediate response was that they do not have a price match guarantee. I replied about the Best Rate Guarantee & provided them with the link to their own webpage. Then I received: "As regards your query, price matching is applicable within Hertz and sister companies like Dollar and Thrifty; we don't do price matching with other rental companies or third parties..." I provided their own policy which states that the Best Rate Guarantee does not apply to "Rates from other car rental companies or other brands provided by Hertz (including, without limitation, Dollar, Thrifty, Firefly, and Ace)" & my response to each condition that I followed & provided the Expedia screenshot of the other booking I found. The final response to that was basically they couldn't do anything & to call their reservation line for further assistance. There would have been at least a $400 savings. I am very tolerant of mistakes & possible training issues. I even could have misinterpreted the policy (I am positive I didn't), but the communication was not about how I did or did not meet the terms & conditions, it was just an immediate denial without any actual review of evidence. This was also not just 1 person I had been communicating with, so unless their whole department needs training, I believe Hertz does not honor their claims.

      Had reservation through rental cars.com and purchased their insurance. Wasnt honored by hertz in *************, **. Rep said needed copy of personal car insurance policy showing coverage for rental cars. My policy online didnt show this specifically. Had to wait for my agent to respond to my request for updated policy. When finally received, went back to hertz and rep gleefully told me he gave my car to someone else and policy only required him to hold it for an hour. No other cars available anywhere and I lost my client and hotel costs etc due to not being able to drive to the client. I asked to purchase insurance through hertz and was told this was t possible, horrible experience and awful representative. Will NEVER use rental cars.com and hertz again.

      Stole my money and made me wait 10 days to get it back. Caused more damage to my already damaged car because this was a replacement while mine was to be in the shop. Very unprofessional people and very unhelpful.

      Horrible the absolute worst I rented a car on line and received a confirmation for a car. Because I received a confirmation I booked my flights. 4 tickets . I called to pick up the car earlier and was told that my reservation was cancelled BUT they never let me know.Im now stuck 5 hours away from the airport with no way of getting there .I will never use Hertz again They confirm your reservation without checking the locations inventory.

      My reservation for this car was done early within the week. Hertz called me after 5:00 pm stating they have no cars available. Hertzruined my son's prom. We have no car, we have to get something at the last moment, which will cost ** more money. I asked the manager at Hertzrental on ************** Hwy. **************************************** but that didn'thappen. This company has no customer recovery skills. I had to call customer service to get my money refunded to my credit card, its not automatically refunded back. Hertz is an unprofessionalcompany! I will never rent from Hertz again.

      I had rented a vehicle from Hertz in ******. It paid up in advance but, they came to my home and took the vehicle I had rented to the airport though it was paid for. I have had major surgery and cannot walk. Hertz said I need to go to airport to retrieve my valuables though they took them without cause and won't return them.

      On 4/10/23, Hertz rental car displayed check engine light came on and the transmission failed. The car worked intermittently as the car slowed in traffic that almost rear ended me. I called Hertz and they said they had a car available and customer service agent sent a tow truck to the hotel that I was staying at and told me to ride with the tow driver to exchange the car at BWI. The car and I arrived together along with the tow driver. An Hertz employee met us in the BWI Hertz car rental area. The problem was exacerbated when, at the BWI Hertz rental desk, a belligerent woman who identified herself as the manager Shalonda the supervisor and her dysfunctional staff said couldn’t find the car (it was on the flat bed 40 feet from the entrance) and needed an incident #. 2. No one was on line at her desk when I explained that I needed an exchange. Then people arrived on the airport shuttle buses. Shalonda and her staff then proceed to service two bus loads of passengers after I asked for an exchange so that I can continue my trip. 3. The customers heard my concerns and verbally expressed that she should take care of me first since I was at the counter ahead of them. 4. Shalonda further escalated the problem by stating she would call security if I stayed at the counter and demanded that she process my exchange so that so continue my business. 5. Shalonda was extremely unprofessional, discourteous and disrespectful. Good managers deescalate and make an attempt to resolve problems expeditiously and to the customer’s satisfaction. Shalonda displayed a shocking level of arrogant incompetence and fundamental ignorance that I has never seen in a “professional” environment. 6. Shalonda should have exchanged my car when I arrived as the customer service agent said he had an exchange car waiting. I lost the entire day as I was afraid to drive the car any further. The stress and aggravation was severe.

      Renting from Hertz in Idaho Falls at the airport, turned out to be a nightmare of an experience. After driving for a week with no issues whatsoever, I returned the car with a full tank of gas. I was sent a receipt and a thank you. This was in June of 2022. 10 months later, in March of 2023, PURCO their fleet carrier and HERTZ accused me of damaging (cracking) the windshield and charging me $422.00. I received 3 phone calls for PURCO and a letter, trying to extort the money from me. "Jeff" from Hertz finally returned my call and sided with PURCO. Really, Jeff? Almost a year later you're accusing me of damaging a car that I rented a year ago? After it was checked upon return and I was sent a thank you note from you? This is a SCAM operation indeed. NEVER again will I rent a car from Hertz. You have permanently lost my business and that of everyone in my family and community. Shame on you all!

      I booked a small sedan on hertz website from April 6th to April 7th 2023 at the Las Vegas - West Sahara Hle's location. I received a confirmation for the reservation and got charged for the booking. When showing up at the location, I was told that they do not have a car for me. The Hertz agent onsite indicated that Hertz's website shows available cars in this location whereas there is no car available. As a result, I spent money in a Uber to get to the location and come back and did not get the car I had booked. Of course, I could not go where I was supposed to go with the car.
