The car I received worked for 2 hours then died. The only solution offered was to hop into a tow truck and drive 1.5 hours back to where rented, exchange my car for another, then drive myself back - this despite the fact that there were 3 Hertz locations within 20 minutes of me. They would not refund my money - claiming I chose to end the lease early - as though their car towed away was something I would willingly choose. I've had minor issues every time I've rented from them from the ********************** location - each time they said they would deposit the equivalent of 1 day's rental in points into my account - each time that didn't happen. This is the final straw - no more renting from here.

I rented a Nissan Rogue car on Tuesday in Denver at the airport and before I left the lot a light came on the dash that Forward Driving Aids temporarily disabled Front Camera Blocked. When I went to the exit gate I told them should I turn around and get another car. They said the camera was sensitive to rain and it was raining hard the last two days. The sensor is still malfunctioning and says see owners manual. I have tried to get in touch with any one at the Denver International Hertz but it is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! I need some customer service assistance. The car still drives it has not affected that yet but it not a fully functional car. I called Roadside and spoke to the closest Hertz facility which was Longmont. I got in the car unaware that they wanted me to fill the gas tank until I got there. 45 minutes to find a gas station in traffic and go back to the facility which was 2 buildings away from Enterprise ( if you don't improve your customer service people will be going there). They gave me keys to a replacement and when we got in it smelled like fish. We had to go back in and pick a car from the lot all of which were cheaper than the one I had, but they could not credit my credit card the difference. I was told to do it when I turn in the car before my outgoing flight. SERIOUSLY!! Layoff should be coming soon for Hertz. You can not stay in business with this kind of service!

Rented a car from hertz at fort Meyers airport . As we were checking out at the gate I lit a cigarette. The young man being very rude and disrespectful told me I could not smoke in the rental . I put the cigarette out and the car was never smoked in . Was still charged a $450 fee for smoking in the car . The car was not smoked in . The cigarette was lit and put out . They refuse to refund the fee . Very poor customer service.

They added charges when I picked up my car, even though it was already paid for. They made it impossible to speak to anyone then refused to remove the charges. The manager -Jungie T. allows the employees there to defraud customers.

This company has acknowledged there was a data breach linked to the **** Hack in April of this year. However, I was notified by a message yesterday from a service I use that monitors my information out in the web that claimed the dark web had my information (phone number and email) and the issue was linked to Hertz. I called Hertz on their provided number about the **** Hack to check if my information was compromised. They checked and denied it ever was in the hack. If true, the conclusion I can make from this is Hertz has other security vulnerabilities they have yet to come forward about.Because of that, I wrote to Hertz Corporate and my state attorney general's office since Hertz may have a very unsecure system with sensitive customer information past this **** Hack. All have yet to respond.I want to warn all others here that if you suddenly get notifications on information that was compromised and going on the dark web (with it all pointing back to Hertz) and Hertz denies you were part of the **** Hack, then it's obvious there is a good chance there was another compromise that happened, if not just recently after the **** Hack. It's either that or the **** Hack information they got is very incomplete - which in my opinion, is very inexcusable to blow off the people (without notating their information in their system) who obviously had compromised information tied to them when Hertz can't find it.

I reserved a Toyota Corolla online. When I arrived at the store, I greeted the staff politely. a ******* ******** female front desk agent briefly asked a few questions, then told me they didn’t have any cars available at the moment and asked me to wait. I told her I didn’t mind what kind of car it was — I’d take any available vehicle. After waiting for about 30 minutes, she said there was a Camry available, but at a higher price. I declined the upsell. After that, she ignored me, and I had no choice but to leave. I made a reservation — you had no cars ready for your customers. The least you could do is offer any available vehicle. You’re a large company, yet you continue advertising low prices online for cars you don’t actually provide, only to upsell customers later. That’s misleading and unfair. I’m seriously considering filing a complaint with the BBB. This was a terrible experience. Who’s going to cover my wasted time and rideshare cost?

Writing to file a complaint regarding the Hertz location in ***********, **. I was in a rental through an insurance claim that changed over to self pay with reimbursement. I was told the insurance company rate would transfer but when requesting reimbursement from the insurance company I was informed they would only reimburse their rate which was $14/day less than what Hertz charged me ($42.24 vs $28.24). When I inquired at the Hertz location they told me I received a free upgrade with the original claim so when it changed to out of pocket the discount was no longer honored. I was not informed nor did I have any knowledge of the insurance rate to question at time of the paperwork. No one informed me of the rate difference nor did they discuss other vehicle options at the eligible/current SF rate.

I rented a car from Thrifty (which is now owned by Hertz) last year. Unbeknownst to me, when they tried to run the hold for the card, it didn't go through. When I rented the car at the desk, this was never brought to my attention (or else I would have paid the difference), nor was it discussed when I returned the vehicle, despite my card being charged for the remaining balance. Nearly 9 months later I received a collections letter for the hold amount. I was never contacted about a remaining balance, simply reported. I spent 2 weeks calling Hertz to try to understand where this charge came from, and received several different explanations (including one outright lie that my bank somehow withdrew the amount from them instead of them from me). I asked for a receipt because my receipt had shown the full amount paid, and they told me they can no longer access the receipts because I "waited too long to call about it" and they'd have to charge me a $25 fee to access the receipt. Total scam. I would have happily paid any amount owed had they simply told me, but instead they chose this route. Do not trust this business.
