      Rocky Mount, North Carolina. How about half of a star? And that would only be for the courtesy and patience of the staff (well, the ladies, anyway) when I lost my mind over their fees. They charged me a $500 deposit and pulled my credit for using a DEBIT CARD instead of a credit card. BUT WHY? Upon deciding to cancel, I learned it would be a $100 fee, due to the inability to give sufficient notice. I'd rather pay the deposit and get that back than lose $100 so I went on to follow through with the rental. The man that worked there took the vehicle across the street to have it washed and vacuumed, brought it back, walked past me, didn't say "your car is ready," "kiss my ass," or nothing. I went back inside aftter a few minutes and the girl laughed and said the car was ready and I could go. Didnt hand me a key or anything. Got in the car and it smelled like the most recent marijuana bust performed by the local task force. I had to play seek and find for the fob. I only used Hertz because I had used them many years ago and had a good experience. I'm sorry to say their policies and customer service have gone down hill. This will be the last time I use them. I do not recommend.

      Horrible customer care service. I was charged 900.00 for a towing charge for a flat tire. No one answers the phones. Texas

      Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company. I am starting to believe that they screen their employees to be the rudest and most disrespectful humans. The employees will lie and create scenario to charge ppl additional amounts. Cars are not cleaned or sanitized prior to rental. Each employee spoken to will provide information different from other employees and will disconnect calls if you disagree with information. Hertz has a habit of double charging as well

      I recently rented from hertz at PTI in Greensboro. It was, by far, the filthiest car I’ve ever rented. I had to stop and buy glass cleaner and do the windows myself. The INSIDE was worse than the outside! You would expect more from hertz!

      One star is definitely too many. Got a flat tire in my rental car but did not have the proper tools in the vehicle to change my own tire. *********** did not have the proper lock nut key to help me and could not take vehicle to the company requested destination. Tow driver dropped ** and the car off at a Wal-mart an hour away from our drop off point. I received many calls back from CS that they were going to help me and then many more calls telling me that they couldn't help me and the most they could do was have the car towed by another company and i had to pay for my own lfyt/uber driver to get me to where we needed to go. Along with multiple texts that stated that they had cancelled my roadside service at my request. I most certainly did not request it. We had to pay an Uber driver to take ** back to the airport to get our own vehicle. Very unprofessional and ridiculous situation. I just needed to change a flat tire for crying out loud. I will never be using this company ever again. Then to make things worse after midnight i received 30 texts in a row regarding them cancelling my roadside request. No exaggeration!

      This company is aware of c the scammers pretending to be Hertz employees making reservations. I called the hertz number and a representative claiming to be named Brittany Price who knew only things a hertz employee would know. How many loyalty points I have, the local Ferndale, mich location. But told me my car would be coming from metro airport. It would be cheaper since I wanted a week to not use my loyalty points. She told me That I could pay with an American express prepaid card for 496.05 and she would process the payment. Since I'm talking allegedly to Hertz I gave her the card number. She gave me a reservation number starting with a J which they used to use several years ago I was told. Anyway, I contacted customer relations told to fill out a form and submit it. I did still no contact. Then I called the royal oak, mich location and explained to amanager there named **** who told me he would get vackbwith me and didn't. Someone at Hertz needs to reimburse my money or give me a free weeks rental I had wanted for the holiday. The lady told me I hVe 898.loyalty points and when I get ready to use them make sure I use a new contract even though I would still have to pay the 300.00 security deposit. I am a senior citizen znd don't have money to give for nothing. I filed a police report znd they told me they feel it's an inside job also. This company is becoming uncaring to their customers. After this, and not hearing anything from Hertz I'm done if they do nothing. Even half my money is better than nothing. I paid 502.00 for that American express card.

      Terrible service. I rented a vehicle and when I needed to make a change to the reservation I was on hold for almost 30 minutes and had to speak to multiple (3) different employees who could not resolve the issue. I tried doing the right thing and prepaid a rental, my flight then got cancelled and I have to change return locations from Raleigh to Wilmington N.C. which is where I am currently. All I was told was you HAVE to return the vehicle to the rental location which is a two hour two hour drive and I am traveling with my two young children so that option is not a possibility. I was then transferred to another person who said you can return the car in Wilmington but you have to settle all charges and after stating that to me they hung up the phone. So now I have no idea how much EXTRA money I will be paying for these extra charges on top of a $700.00 rental. A overall terrible customer service experience and I will definitely not use this company in the future very disappointed.

      They give me half tank car and ask me to return half tank. Then they charge me fuel cost bcause I return half tank. Completely scam!

      I rented a car from Thrifty ( Hertz company) and fully paid it. When we went pick it up at the airport the line was a mile long - the agent opened another counter and likely pushed everyone to just sign and move on. Same thing when returning the car - I was told to leave the keys in the car and go. Then they billed me a large amount which is more than my original rental. When I called they said it was a standard charges. Fraud business practice - I am going to formally write to BB and fight these charges.

      Hertz seems to be about short $ not long term customer service. I am a long time 5 star customer, treated like a 1 star. They didn't have the vehicle I reserved for me and then charged me for a no show, I had never clicked on prepay. I never use prepay for business travel. Their customer service is " no customer no service. You cant reached a human for a long time and when you do they refused to transfer me to anyone and even refused to give me the name and address of their senior executives. Very frustrating
