      I want to express the awful customer service experience I had with Hertz today. I attempted to extend my rental using their mobile app and was charged an amount different than initially quoted. The app stated I would be charged $81.22 - my card was charged $134. There was no itemized receipt highlighting why I had been charged that amount. I spoke to 6 different employees and stopped at a local branch, and no one could explain to me what this discrepancy was about. The gentleman at the local branch spent 30 minutes and ultimately suggested I call the billing department. You can’t even speak to them until your rental is complete. Their customer service team was even worse, and had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. They didn’t even attempt to find solutions. The only thing I was told was, “I can return the car if I’m unhappy.” Now, because no one seems to have answers, I have to file my second dispute against Hertz with my credit card company. This was such an awful customer service experience. It was baffling that not one person out of the six could tell me why I was charged a different amount. Seriously, do better and train your employees to find solutions!

      We had pre-paid and had a confirmed rental, but they did not have a car for us or dozens of other people in Seattle, WA, on Saturday, June 10, 2023. They offered no compensation, no solutions, no help. No refunds were offered. The customer service number we were given to call did not pick up the phone until Wednesday. Even then, I was bounced around to eight different customer service people with no solutions.

      They added a service of roadside assistance to my contract without verbally disclosure. They keep doing it. Gave me a digital version of the contract to sign then, while rush you out because they are short handed. I called supervisors, district manager and branch manager with no success. They refuse to dispute because I signed the contract, even though I showed them the way it is being done leads the customer to get something they don't need or ask for. Someone needs to do something against this malpractice businesses who seem to do whatever they want to.

      This was a 2nd try at renting from Hertz and it went worse than my 1st experience, which was not good. The 1st rental experience ended with a lower grade car than I paid for & a flat out refusal via email to reimburse me the $20.00 difference Giving the benefit of the doubt l, I tried again directly renting through Hertz website. I arrived at the Clarksville, TN store at my alloted reservation time and was told there were NO cars available for the day. Not just the electric car I reserved, but no vehicles. I was then told to call customer service to cancel that the store could not cancel. The employee turned and walked away. No, "I'm so sorry. Can we take you back to your hotel ma'am?" "Can we offer you a discount on a future rental?" Nothing. Never again Hertz.

      Thursday morning and I have to wait an hour in line to get a reserved car. The people behind me are looking at 2 hours. Not enough workers. 2 at the moment. Never again!!!!

      Deceptive billing practices. Bait and switch pricing strategy.
      I am a president circle Gold Member of Hertz.
      I did an online reservation. Total was $309.86. I went to the rental location, total was 346.70. The manager refused to honor the initial reservation charge of 309.86 and asked me to call the billing department for a refund. I called the billing department. I was told that I have to call back again when the rental is concluded to get the refund. No refund was issued.
      Take home message: Deceptive billing practice. Bait and switch tactic. Better go somewhere else or have a back-up plan.

      Dallas absolutely they worst rental car experience I have ever encountered. I rent on average a year 25 cars over the last 9 years, my company rents 6 car weekly. I am responsible for the decision as to what company to use. Hertz out of Dallas will not be one of them. Rude, they are unwilling to edit or correct a transaction, and are happy to reject a request with arrogance and attitude. Wow they are horrible!

      Awful, awful service. I tried extending my rental (my personal car is getting fixed in the shop and they are still working on it). They recommend doing it online, so I did so. The website says that it isn't working at that time. They recommend calling. I tried doing it through the app, same issue. I call the customer service line - wait on hold forever, finally speak to someone and they quote me >500 for the cheapest car for 2 days (for reference, my rental has been 236 for 7 days). I told her that it doesn't make sense and she "checked" and all the sudden it was 450. Again, way too high but very interesting that it changes. I told her I didn't trust this and I would call my local agent in the morning. Tried that, couldn't get trough this crazy automated system to a person and it just goes in circles. Finally, I just started pressing whatever I thought I could to talk to a human because the automated just keeps telling me to go online to prolong it (which the website is broken as above). I get to a person and it is that same customer service that seems not local and they quote me for again >500. I can rent right now online a brand new one for 40 a day (the same price I'm getting now). I will NEVER use Hertz again and I will be sure to share that. I'm so disappointed.

      - I picked up the car on 03/03/23 at 12:25 am in Columbia airport and had to drive in the night to be in Charleston to attend a funeral. - I returned the car on 03/03/23 around 7:30pm in Charleston airport after the funeral, late lunch and time with people. There was no attendant to hand the car to and get a receipt ! There were three ladies and they told me to just leave the key inside the car and not to worry...I will get the receipt in the email. I told them that I am worried just in case somebody will get the keys and the car and disappear in Mexico. I will still be liable and prove my innocence They released the final invoice the second day on the 03/04/23 at 5am. The time when I brought the car back is inaccurate/fake and also irrelevant. My fiancé helped me to drop the car on 03/03/23 around 7:30pm not on 03/04/23 at 5:06am as they say. Knowing that I exceed the 24 hrs and I am charged for the second day I would not be crazy to wake up at 4am and bring the car at 5am, just take my time and do that any time on the 4th. Also, if that would be the case they would not write with their own hand writing : "CUSTOMER RETURNED RENTAL 1 DAY EARLIER, REFUNDED $186.54". The $186.54 was my initial deposit charged upfront which I am entitled no matter what to get it back. One day charge comes to $149.99+7+10+6+4(fees)= $176.99 Additional $95 was a charge for dropping the car to another location. So, $176.99+$95= $$271.99 They charged me total of $484.89 in top of my deposit of $186.54. They should give me my deposit back, which they did but never the rest. Out of total charges for the two day rental of $484.89 subtracting the $271 they should give me back $212.99. They have a very dishonest and deceiving way to do business and they should be penalized or taken out of the business by revoking their business license by seeing how many customers here were deceived.
