      They suck! My wife and rented one in ************ for a trip. Airport had no cars and had to travel to the east side of town to get it! Plus, it had a Maintenance required screen cone on every time you started the car! We got the absolute filthiest, dirtiest car we had to clean just to go on our trip then when my wife returned it, they charged her card $500 for outside cleaning! Such bullshit! HERTZ IS THE WORST!!!

      I had received this confirmation for a rental. I took a $125 Uber to ******* to pick up the car. I was told there was no car available. I asked for suggestions; shrugged shoulders. Talked to the desk person, the senior person, and the Manager; offered no help other than this happens all of the time! Talk about poor service! This is the definition of it for sure!

      Hertz was unwilling to change my drop-off location once my rental vehicle had been picked up. The lady at the checkout counter told me to call specific number for help changing my drop-off location. The representive would not change locations for me. The ************ she gave me was to drive an hour out of the way, to cancel and rent the same vehicle from my drop-off location or be charged a towing fee of $570 for it to be towed to my original pick-up location. **************** is non-existent at **********************. All phone numbers lead back to the same representatives. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ.

      I gave Hertz zero stars! Why well I rent the car for a vacation. I wash and clean car up before taking back inside and out. Car was cleaner when I took back than when I received it. Get my receipt and leave everything fine. Get my credit card bill in the mail to my surprise they tacked on $500 more to my card for a cleaning fee cause they said the car smelled like smoke. I don't smoke!!! Never have never will! So I tell them they aren't giving my money back! So I've called my card company and disputed the charges. Card company says my receipt is all the money they are getting. Nice try Hertz you aren't getting the extra $500! Please be aware this company is shady as hell!!!!

      I Rented a Small SUV (Chevy Equinox) from 29 Apr thru 11 May with a Daily rate of $37.89. But was charge $4,756.12. Since 11 may i had been trying to Correct my Car rental bill and for them to refund me over $4K dollars which I had multiples calls with their customer Service and they all agreed that it has been a mistake, then they tell me that I show get my Refund which should be over $4K dollars within 5-7 business days. To this date 18 Jun I haven't receive my Money. What's can or do I need to do for force this Rental company to reimburse me?

      As a long standing Hertz Gold member (20+ years) I am disappointed that the company's standards seem to be slipping as consistently highlighted by the reviewers listed here. Personal examples have included overcharging for another car when the vehicle booked has not been available, general proliferation in booking errors, missed prep timings or delayed delivery of vehicles, and an appreciable increase in hidden junk fees applied in error. Our latest experience was the application of a "convenience fee" of $19.98 on a $1:50 toll, in spite of specifically requesting a toll transponder/service during the booking process for a booking that was not ready by the time of pick up. We also recently accidentally left a cell phone in the car, and even though we notified Hertz of the issue 15 mins after exiting the car (we were still at the airport), Hertz said they found no phone in the vehicle. Luckily, we were able to trace the phone and arrange to pick up the item from the next renter an hour later. Apparently, Hertz doesn't consistently clean and prep vehicles either. We have spent thousands of dollars renting vehicles over the years personally with Hertz, and my firm has also spent hundreds of thousands more broadly but we have noticed a consist downturn in quality, care and support as the company has struggled to regain profitability by focusing on efficiency and cost reductions post bankruptcy. While it is possible that these experiences are outliers, there seems to be increasing credible evidence that customer experience has suffered endemically as market pressures have driven corporate strategy. Shareholders = happy vs. customers = sad. That may come back to bite as the quest to drive financial performance exclusively potentially sets up the perfect storm for accelerated customer attrition with a flight to players that are more agile, digitally savvy, customer/human-centric and value-focused like Enterprise.

      Normally, I would give 'Kudos' to this Location; however, I MUST convey my extreme disdain and dissatisfaction regarding my latest experience.When I arrived earlier Yesterday Afternoon (June 16) to pick up my Rental Car at the *********************************** Location (*******, **); the Location was CLOSED!! Additionally, I contacted Hertz earlier this week to modify the aforementioned reservation, NO ONE from the Hertz *************************** had the courtesy to inform me this location was UNAVAILABLE!! Further, I received an automated Email from Hertz (On June 14) reminding me of my reservation at this EXACT Location!!Secondly, when I contacted the Hertz **************** Number @ 3:28 pm (CST) to make some inquires, the **************** Representative (*****, Location: ***********) stated to go to the *********, ** Location (Approximately 16 miles from the **************** Island Location)! I then asked if I could modify the reservation to pick up my Car at a different location on Saturday (June 17), he subsequently told me he already canceled my Reservation.I then asked him to IMMEDIATELY send me an Email documenting the Canceled Reservation (I have YET to receive THAT Email)!This is NOT the type of behavior a Customer (Who is a ***************************** ********* Member) should receive. And, as this is clearly an example of inadequate, inefficient & disrespectful **************** & Communication!!**********************, you MUST do BETTER!!!

      Waited 1.5 hours in line at slc hertz at airport. Then was told car was not available and would hopefully get one in an hour or so. What a joke of a company. Don’t make the mistake of using hertz. Every other car rental place is without a line and getting cars

      Dollar/Hertz rented us a flooded vehicle. Provided proof to substantiate claims and reported the damage. Health and safety hazard and they don’t care.

      I had a reservation and confirmation number to pick a car up at 4:00 pm on 6/15. At 2:30 I received a call from the agent saying they did not have a car for me. I had plans to leave at 5:00 pm this evening to my destination. If I had known Herz had such a low rating I would have never made the reservation with them. I told the agent I am very glad hotels don’t use the same horrible way of making reservations. I call Enterprise in Plymouth Massachusetts and got a confirmation for a rental car to put my trip back on track. One final comment. I will never use Hertz again!
