My experience with Hertz services has been frustrating while trying to help my dad who is an Uber driver. The level of responsiveness and customer service with the simplest processes such obtaining receipts is terrible. Also, the managers are not empowered to solve problems for customers such as explaining a simple charge. The lack of communication when there are issues is appalling. I requested to speak with the District manager and I was given a wrong phone number. How can a branch manager not have a contact information for her District manager? The rental process for Uber drivers and the charges subjected to them is confusing and predatory. The branch manager claimed that they were not able to charge for the electric charges for 3-4 weeks. There was no communication to the drivers that they were going to be charged the entire month of electrical recharge, which for these individuals can be financially devastating. After bringing this issue to their attention, there was little to no attempt to fully help me understand these charges. I do not recommend this service to anyone. Given the number low ratings at the BBB is evident that the company does not care about its customers experience. I am very surprised that BBB still rates this company a A-.

I booked an SUV online from Hertz for four days. A charge appeared on my credit card for $103.96 for tolls after few days. I checked online and found out that I was charged a flat fee of $25.99 per day for tolls. This is something I was not aware. Nothing such was disclosed at the time of booking online and at the time of pickup of the vehicle. Hertz along with their third party PLATEPASS for tolls is ripping off the customers.
I stayed within Long Island most of the time. If I knew about this outrageous toll charge I would have paid cash all the way. I think the total toll for the whole trip was not more than $25.
I called the Hertz location but there is no option to reach an agent. I am really mad at this with no solution.
I can only say that BEWARE OF OUTRAGEOUS CHARGES OF TOLLS by PLATEPASS.

I had a reservation for a car rental from Hertz at the Minneapolis airport on Friday night (6/23). Unfortunately my flight to MSP was delayed by over 2 hours so we arrived around 12:30 am. While still in my city of origin I looked at my reservation and it said the rental car office was open 24 hours/day. I looked online and it said open 24 hours/day 7 days/week. I called the phone number and checked the hours and it said open 24 hours/day. When we arrived in MSP we waited for our luggage and then went to get our rental car in Terminal 2. Once we arrived at the Hertz desk in Terminal 1 around 1:00 am or so there was a sign saying the counter was closed and we should go to Terminal 1. We walked a long way to get to the light rail train, took the train to Terminal 1, then walked to the Hertz counter there. When we arrived close to 1:30 am there was a sign saying that the Hertz counter was closed and we should go to Level 4 and get our car at the Hertz Gold office. We went up to Level 4 to the Hertz Gold office only to find that it was closed and locked with a sign saying that it was closed until 6:00 am the next morning. Perhaps we could have gotten our car if we were Hertz Gold members but we were not. There we were with a rental agreement to rent a car at about 1:45 am but no way to get our car. I had to call my brother who lives about 20 minutes away to come get us at 2:00 am. We finally got to my brother's house at 2:30 am. I was seriously not amused by Hertz. How many times can I check and be told that the car rental agency was open 24 hours/day only to discover in the end (after a long wild goose chase) that it was a TOTAL LIE!!! Hertz, you can do better than this. Your customers deserve better than this!!!

Don’t skip the line and pick your car @Hertz rentals. Used them for a recent trip to Arizona only to get a letter that we were liable for damage to the windshield that For Sure didn’t happen during this trip. Always get your car inspected before leaving the rental line… what a scam. Take pictures of how you get it and how you return it if they don’t have a representative there when you pick up and drop off. Also filled the tank 1 mile from airport drop off and they charged us 40 bucks for gas because I didn’t save the receipt. Never again for hertz! Buisness or personal!

I rented a car in *********, drove it to ********, the maintenance required message came on and they key FOB battery died. They would not exchange the car locally, they asked me to drive it to ******** to exchange it. I was at a wedding, I got a maintenance voucher for the local ********** they refused to work on the car because HERTZ had not paid for prior work done. They changed the battery in the Key FOB. I paid for a diagnosis to find out what maintenance was required. HERTZ is not a good company to rent from!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!My boyfriend and I rented a discounted Tesla Model 3 from the *********** location. By the time he reached his destination (which has no tesla superchargers in the area. Only EV chargers requiring an adapter) he discovered Hertz never provided the adapter in the charging kit. Their website shows they provide the basic charging kit which comes with the adapter. Later on after talking with the manager at the Hertz location in the airport, we learned that the individual who gave my boyfriend the keys didn't check the vehicle to ensure it had everything it was supposed to. We had the vehicle towed the next day, 6.23.23 for free. However, he was told he couldn't receive a refund until the invoice was closed upon receipt of the vehicle. We called the 24th and was told "it still shows the invoice is open. Ill request to close it out. Call tomorrow." So he calls Monday (due to the next day being a sunday) and is told that the invoice was closed that day and he couldnt do anything to help him. Then advised ****** call back on Tuesday 6.28.23....The invoice was closed either on the 25th or the 26th and they initially tried telling my boyfriend he wouldn't receive any refund because on their end, it appeared he had the vehicle for the full reservation that was requested ****************). As of 6.27.23 he is receiving a partial refund for the 24th and 25th even though Hertz received the vehicle by the tow truck on the 23rd at approximately 5pm. We will NEVER use Hertz again! We both recommend using, literally, anyone else.

Hertz is continuing to place charges for car rental a month after I rented the car. I paid for the rental at the time I rented the car. Hertz has charged me over $2000.00 for car rental 45 days after I returned the car. I paid for all the insurances they offered and should not have any charges after I returned the car. Someone at Hertz is scamming me.

Remember how Hertz did the black man that pulled time waiting on Hertz to deliver his receipt?? Theyre still racist. ************, ** This evening we were there around 5, he was nasty, huffing, puffing, sulking, rude, turning red in the face. I asked him was he ok. He said its a rough day.Thats not my business. He was dismissive, didnt help me with my reservation. ***** care that I was stranded there because **** dropped me off. Another customer apologized because he seen how nasty this employee was to me. He felt so comfortable and privileged to do this while being paid.

If I could give zero stars I would. We picked up our rental and went to leave at 1am, and the seatbelt in the back wouldnt buckle. We had to drive 700 miles from ******* for ******* to with one person unbuckled. Went to the hertz ***************** airport when we arrived, and spend over 2 hours trying to get a car that fit all our stuff, we unloaded and then reloaded a car 3 times. I went back to their desk, and told them out stuff wasnt fitting, and the worker said, well I only have one vehicle left in your tier, so hopefully it works. I responded, so if it doesnt fit are we supposed to just leave some of our stuff behind or keep an unsafe vehicle? The female employee then said, I would just keep the one you have. I told her once again, the seatbelt didnt work, and we had to drive back home 700 miles and its also ILLEGAL not to be in a seatbelt. Their professionalism was absolute garbage. We wanted a PARTIAL refund for the huge and unsafe inconvenience but they offered us 2 free days of rentals. We have intention of ever renting from hertz again, so we wanted 2 days refunded instead. No one could help us supposedly. We will NEVER book with hertz. I will gladly pay extra to book with Enterprise as we have never had issues or horrible customer service from them.
