This company alleges that I signed a "subscription agreement" after offering a knee brace for the cost of shipping & handling. There is no documentation of this nor is there an explanation on the credit card statement. Without my knowledge they have charged my credit card for $37.57 twice and then two weeks later for $22.54. I like others found that after I ordered a free pair of socks I have been charged $37.57 twice in one month, on June 5th and again on June 26th 2023. I received an email confirming a refund and cancelation only to have them debit again. This company is a fraud.Initial Complaint

I ordered a free knee brace for shipping and handling price of $6.95 on 6/9/23. I received the knee brace a week or 2 later. On 6/23/23 backsocksleeve.com charged me $37.27. I didnt know why. I wrote them an email and was told when I paid for the s/h of the knee brace I agreed to a VIP membership for $37.27 a month. I most certainly did not. They said they sent several emails offering the option of canceling before the 14 day trial was up. They did not. They said they cancelled my membership but a refund would have to be approved by higher authority. Then I got an email this morning saying after review they wont be giving me a refund. This is a total ripoff by scam artists who have done this to a lot of unsuspecting people like me. This unexpected charge messed up my budget. I want a refund and I want no future charges. I dont trust them. They go by backsolutionstore.com and abenity also. Their so called director of marketing is *************************. Maybe not a real person even. Like other complaints I see submitted here, I signed on to receive the promotional item (compression socks which did not fit) and paid only shipping. Then I saw a monthly charge on my card for $37.57. When I contacted them to request cancellation and a refund, they said they would review the refund and get back to me. Never did. When I contacted them again, they said their terms were sent to me (I have all their emails - no terms, just more sales pitches for other items) and they were obviously not going to refund me. I have sent them additional emails requesting the refund. Now there have been no responses from them. Whether I cancelled by a certain date or not, I contacted them to cancel as soon as I saw the charge on my credit card. A reputable, honest business would recognize that I don't want to do business with them and just refund my money.Customer Answer

Hello. Thank you for your reply. This issue is resolved. They refunded my money, but only after I got an attorney involved, who sent them a letter.
I my opinion, this is a suspect and unethical business.

I ordered a knee brace from an offer I received by phone from backsleeve.com. The knee sleeve was free but you paid $6.98 for the shipping. Buried in the offer was a subscription agreement that you didn't see unless you opened up the subscription details tab. That said you've enrolled in our *** program at $37.57 a month unless you contact us and cancel within 14 days. I received an order confirmation and shipping acknowledgement from backsolutionstore.org for the knee sleeve but nothing indicating I had also signed up for the *** program. The $6.98 order I placed was on 5/27. My credit card was charged $37.57 on 6/11. I contacted them and they basically said I had signed up and since I didn't respond in 14 days it was a legitimate charge. I have noticed similar complaints from BBB reviews of this business. I feel their practices, if not illegal, certainly qualifies as extremely deceptive. I'd like you to assist me in getting my money back.Initial Complaint

On June 18th I checked my checking account and found that I was charged ***** for something I didn't even know what it was. My wife looked up the info for me and we called the number provided. I talked to someone and they gave me a number to call which was ************** and this number goes to FRONTIER which is in out area and a carrier for tv, internet and phone. It has nothing to do with socks. According to the description that took my money out of my account is says BACKSOCKSLEEVEC,F *********** and then the money amount I want my money back and when I tried the number that they said was for the refund and I got Frontier I tried to call them back and got nothing. I want this taken care of as soon as possible and I also wrote them a note asking for the refund. I also never got a enmail confirmation on what was purchased and have no clue as to how they got my account information. Please help me in this matter if nothing happens.
