Account #******** I wrote to you requesting an investigation into items that I believed were fraud, inaccurate, and falsely reporting. This letter is a formal complaint that you are reporting inaccurate and incomplete credit information. I respectfully request to be provided proof of these alleged Collection. Per my records I have always paid these accounts on time and never paid late and never had an account with **********************. The following false reporting information needs to be reinvestigated as it is inaccurate, and then removed from my credit file as it is falsely reporting.15 U.S. Code ****i. Procedure in case of disputed accuracy;It was communicated to me to reach out to creditor to expedite the removal. As of the date of previous complaints, it has been over thirty days with no compliance to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA 15 U.S.C. ****) enacted by *****************.I respectfully requested to be provided proof of this alleged item, specifically the original application, contract, note, or other instrument bearing my signature. The non-creditor stated they will send the requested information in the mail however I feel as this is a stall tactic on their behalf, and I believe it to be a blatant violation of the FCRA.Please send all validating records through the BBB and certified mail to my address. Our policy is to mail correspondence to all consumers. Our records indicate we mailed correspondence to the consumer November 13, 2019, to the address provided in this complaint. There is no record of any return mail on file. Correspondence has been mailed numerous times since 2019. This account will be reported to the credit reporting agencies as disputed. Validation has also been sent to the consumer again for her perusal. Original contracts, applications, etc. must be obtained from the creditor. Tell us why here...Our office received an account from the creditor ********************* with respect to this consumer in December 2021 for recovery of unpaid auto insurance premiums. Initial correspondence was sent to the consumer at that time. There is no record of any return mail. Please note the balance due is not owed to Caine & Weiner. We are collecting on behalf of the creditor, Progressive. Progressive's records indicate the policy was canceled in November 2021. Progressive indicates coverage was provided for a 2006 Chevrolet Express G2500 and a **** GMC Sierra ***** on a policy ending in **** and that the final payment in September 2021 was insufficient to cover the premium balance due at the time of cancellation. Records indicate validation has been forwarded to the consumer numerous times to the address provided in his complaint. The file is currently disputed in our records. Our office will gladly review any documentation provided by the consumer with respect to the policy, vehicle, payment or coverage specifics for this account that *** indicate the creditor's records are not accurate. received a notice that I have a collection from CAINE WEINER on my credit report. It says it was opened on 08/19/2019 for $0.00 with account number starting in ******** that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the **** and FDCPA.I would like for this collection to be removed asap or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.Business Response

I found out about this account while checking my credit reports with all 3 credit bureaus. I am disputing this account and requesting for this account to be closed out. Caine & Weiner is a collection agency that represents a variety of creditors. The exact name of the creditor would be indicated on any correspondence received from our office and any information provided by a credit reporting agency. Our records reflect an account specific to an automobile policy (Progressive). We mailed our initial communication to the consumer in February 2021, to the address provided in this complaint. I am rejecting this response because:
Caine & Weiner violated my rights.As Caine & Weiner stated several times in their previous responses, the initial communication was mailed to my address.
According to law, no debt collector may not communicate with the consumer in connection with the collection of any debt without prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector. As I stated in my previous response, the initial communication was not recieved by me and I did not consent to communication. I have no knowledge of this account.

Caine and wienerbrought me to collections over additional damages to a rented piece of equipment. A settlement was reached between my insurance and the party involved on August 3, 2022. After this settlement I was brought to collection over an unknown additional damage. I contacted a *********************** phone # ************, he abruptly refused any explanation of the charges or to supply me with a copy. Caine and ****** then escalated the issue by seeing myself using a **************************. I contacted *************, who was not supplied with a contract signed between the parties and my insurance ( which was brokered by **************), Or a copy of the invoice was already paid ( which I am also being extorted for). ************** claims that they are not pursuing the case due to to unexplained damages. I contacted **************, who refused any explanation of the damages and proceeded to hang up on myself. Mr. ****** refusals to explain the charges as well as remove what was paid up front is unexecptable for a business to do.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
The case was resolved a month ago, I placed multiple calls to Caine and wiener, explaining the issue and I was told multiple times by multiple people "MY ONLY OPTION IS TO PAY CAINE AND WIENER $7000." They did not both to reach out to the clients or even humor the fact that it was settled. Also the collections still have yet to be removed from my credit report. This is an incredibly unprofessional company, and are using deceit to force people into paying debt that is not theirs.

Hi my name is *************************. Progressive turned my bill into collections and a couple months ago I guess and I had no clue about it! But I have been paying on this bill $50 every two weeks. Caine and Weiner are still on my credit report and it has dropped my credit so bad. They still claim Im not paying on it and I am! My wife and I were looking at buying a home and could not because of these jerks. It was so hurtful. He states the debt is hurting his credit and wants it removed. Our records indicate that the consumer is paying on the delinquent debt.
