Our office received an account from the creditor, Progressive Insurance, with respect to this consumer in May 2022, for recovery of unpaid auto insurance premiums. Please note the balance due was never owed to ***** & Weiner. Initial correspondence was sent to the consumer at that time. Validation was forwarded to the consumer in September of 2022. There is no record of any mail return. System notes do not reflect any attempts by the consumer to reach our office. The Progressive policy was cancelled in March 2022. Creditor records indicate coverage was provided for a 2019 Mercury A220 on a policy ending in **** and that the final payment in January 2022 was insufficient to cover the premium balance due at the time of cancellation. Our office will gladly review any documentation the consumer has with respect to the policy, payment, or coverage specifics for this account that may indicate the creditor's records are not accurate. The consumer's provided information did not match records in our system. The consumer's address, email, or telephone number provided does not match to any account in our system. If it is possible that the account was established under a previous address, that address would be helpful. Our office wishes to assist the consumer in any way possible. We would ask that the consumer provide the full account referenced in the correspondence, name on the account, the name of the creditor, the balance showing as owed, our account number detailed via the credit bureaus, etc. so that we may properly identify the account and respond. On October 4th I contacted ***** and ****** regarding an account on my credit report. Though I was uncertain as to the origin of the account, instead of the lengthy process of verification and disputing the account, I offered to pay it in full in exchange for permanent deletion from all credit reports. They agreed that if a lump sum payment was made in full they would request deletion of the ********* from the report. I upheld my end of the bargain and made full payment the same day. Now they want to play word games instead of honoring their committment and say they will "report the account around the end of the month". This is why their industry has the reputation that it does. ***** & ****** cannot be trusted to uphold their end of the bargain while running a business that at its core is about holding others accountable to keep their end of the ******** This is ********** ****** if trust and accountability as well as deceptive trade practices.Business Response

The consumer has submitted a complaint relating to a negative entry on his credit report. As stated in the complaint, the account has been paid in full. The consumer states that he was not sure of the origin of the debt. Our office received an account from the creditor, *********************, with respect to this consumer in May 2016, for recovery of unpaid auto insurance premiums. Please note the balance due was never owed to Caine & Weiner. Initial correspondence was sent to the consumer at that time. There is no record of any mail return. The************ policy was cancelled in April 2016. Creditor records indicate coverage was provided for a **** *********** on a policy ************** and that the final payment in February 2016 was insufficient to cover the premium balance due at the time of cancellation. Validation was forwarded to the consumer for his perusal. The deletion has been generated for the respective credit bureaus. We are unsure as to how long it may take for the credit bureaus to update their records. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused. If the derogatory entries are not removed by the end of the month, please contact our office at XXX-XXX-XXXX for additional assistance.Initial Complaint
