They have made it exceedingly hard (and likely impossible as there are NO other ways to cancel the subscription) to cancel their premium subscription. The button on their site to cancel the subscription does NOT work. You click the button and nothing happens, every other button works perfectly fine with the exception of the unsubscribe button! They also do NOT have a phone support line that I could call. This is a very shady practice and needs to be rectified immediately as they charge my card every month for a service I cannot unsubscribe from!Initial Complaint

I am subscribed to OpenAIs ChatGPT Plus plan, which advertises unlimited image generation. Over the past two weeks (including today, July 18, 2025), Ive encountered repeated service disruptions that prevent me from generating images, despite my unlimited plan. No warning, notification, or error message is provided when Im silently rate-limited, resulting in failed service access.I pay $20 per month, expecting full, unrestricted access as advertised. I was told by OpenAI support that backend guardrails silently limit my usage. This was not clearly disclosed during signup or in the product description. I consider this misleading advertising.Additionally, image generation often fails to follow instructions, repeatedly wasting my time. Ive received incomplete images and have been charged for generations I canceled before completion. We paid $600 on Oct 12, 2024 for a ChatGPT Teams subscription through OpenAI. Immediately after, we realized the Enterprise tier was the true advanced offering. We requested an upgrade or refund before ever using the product and were denied on all counts, despite our willingness to transfer the funds, accept a prorated refund, or rollover tokens.OpenAIs policy of no refunds, no exceptions contradicts its stated mission to advance humanity and fails to align with modern AI competitors like ****** and Anthropic, who allow ethical compute refunds and transparent upgrades.We are submitting this complaint not out of hostility, but in the sincere hope OpenAI reforms its practices. I am filing a complaint against OpenAI, the company behind *******, for providing false political information, causing emotional harm, and failing to offer any working refund or support path to paying users. On July 13, 2025, ******* gave me factually incorrect answers about the U.S. President, falsely stating that *** ***** was still president even though ****** ***** had already been inaugurated in January 2025. I was told I was wrong over and over again despite citing verified facts. Then, in a separate session, the chatbot reversed itself completely and said ***** was president. The contradiction was infuriating and destabilizing. It caused me stress, anger, anxiety, and emotional breakdown. I felt gaslit and attacked by a system I was paying for. It wasnt just misinformationit was psychological harm from a product claiming to be trustworthy. When I tried to contact support to report this and request a refund, the links were broken, the help portal failed to load, and there was no accessible path to get resolution. This left me feeling completely powerless and ignored. I demand a full refund for my ChatGPT Plus subscription since I first subscribed, an official acknowledgment of the misinformation and harm caused, and assurance that this kind of digital gaslighting will not continue unchecked. OpenAI must be held accountable for the emotional and psychological impact this system had on me, especially given that I paid for this product in good faith and was met with failure, falsehoods, and silence. Subject: Paid Subscription Features Blocked Without Cause ChatGPT Plus I am a paying subscriber to OpenAIs ChatGPT Plus plan. One of the advertised features of this service is the ability to upload images for analysis. I have been denied access to this feature for months without any misuse or violations on my part.I do not have custom GPTs. I do not store files. I am submitting a complaint against OpenAI regarding unlawful business practices related to subscription billing and payment methods.I subscribed to OpenAIs ******************** as of today, and Ive canceled the subscription through their OpenAI payment website. Even though I canceled my subscription, my payment method cannot be removed because it says theres an active subscription, even though it was already canceled. Im logical enough to know that there are hidden motives behind preventing removal of a card from a subscription that is no longer active.This practice violates the ************************ Act, Section 5 (15 U.S.C. 45), which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce. Holding onto a consumers payment method after cancellation without clear consent or easy removal likely qualifies as an unfair practice. The *** Negative Option Rule (16 C.F.R. *****) requires sellers to provide a simple mechanism to cancel that is at least as easy as the method the consumer used to sign up, and to obtain separate, express informed consent before charging. Blocking card removal breaches this rule.I want full removal of my payment method from OpenAI subscription management.
