    Hello,I am writing to file a complaint about the unjust suspension of my Discord account. I am the rightful owner and user of the suspended ********************** account. The suspension happened on April 11, 2025, due to a message in Spanish, which is my native language, that was taken out of ********** the message, I invited a friend to join a game called Peroxide and told him he would have to use a skill called "heart," which allows reviving once per round, because I was going to win without taking any damage. There was no ill intent or rule violation.Since the suspension, I have tried contacting Discord support for 4 months but have only received automated replies without human review.

    I have received the response from Discord, Inc. However, I believe it does not fairly resolve my complaint. The sanction applied to my account was the result of a misunderstanding regarding the context of a message. In my previous appeals, I already acknowledged that the message was wrong, but the penalty imposed is disproportionate, especially since this was my first violation in over four years of using the platform.
    My goal is not to have my account fully reinstated, but rather to receive a fairer and more proportional sanction. The companys response does not address this point and appears to be automated. I need someone from Discords team to review my case in a real, human manner so that my situation is properly considered.

    I reject the response provided by Discord regarding my case, as I believe it has not been handled fairly or proportionally.

    I have observed that in other similar cases, in my language and in others, users have only received warnings or immediate human reviews. Meanwhile, in my case, the maximum penalty was applied, even though it was a misunderstanding and I never received a fair and human review.
    All I ask is that my situation be reviewed again, with proper consideration of the real context of the message that caused the suspension.

    I am filing this complaint because I have gotten a violation from Discord without having violated their policies. My account was banned on May 24, 2025. I am a French user, and I am currently pursuing formal complaints with both the **** and the French regulator ***** regarding Discords non-compliance with ** law, but in the meantime I am submitting this complaint to the BBB.Discord has refused to provide me with the specific message or evidence that allegedly violated their rules, despite my repeated requests. Under the ** Digital Services Act, users have the right to receive clear information about moderation decisions and whether automated tools were used, but Discord has ignored these obligations.I have submitted multiple in-app appeals. Some of them have been accepted, others not (denied by automation, not by a human). Ive seen that the same content was reported multiple times as part of a mass-report against me. Even if i dont know what i said, it was at worst a harmless joke taken out of context. I had already won 2 or 3 appeal for that specific content, yet it seems it was counted again.Content sent on july 14th 2024: 1 violation Content sent on july 23th 2024: 2 violations same content Content sent on August 26th 2024: 4 violations for the same content Content sent on June 21th: 1 violation The inconsistency in Discords moderation is even more troubling by cases I have witnessed where users openly talk about ****** children and only receive a warning, whereas I have been permanently banned for something i still don't know, but would never relate to that kind of stuff.I have tried contacting Discord support numerous times, but I have only received automated responses. It appears no human has reviewed my case. I am requesting that Discord have a real human moderator review my LASTEST VIOLATION.I had not use that account since may, and i got another violation for CS?     I am not appealing my overall account ban here, but specifically the latest violation I received on June 19, 2025. It only says, "This violation affects your account until 2027", but it does not indicate that any content was removed or specify what the violation was for.
    This violation appeared out of nowhere, immediately after my previous appeal was accepted. I believe it may have been issued in error, and I am asking that you review it and confirm what it was for, as well as whether it is valid.
    I have also told Discord that if they truly believe my other offense warranted not only a punishment but a permanent suspension (after 8 years of loyal services and reporting rule breakers to the Trust & Safety team) then they must show me exactly what I supposedly said that was so terrible. At the time of my ban, they provided no information about the harmful content in question, making it impossible to understand or contest the decision.
    As a French resident, I am covered by the ******************* Act, which legally obliges platforms like Discord to provide the specific evidence and reasoning behind moderation actions. Discord has failed to comply with this requirement.

    I have been using Discord for 8 years without ever receiving a single warning. I still have no idea what supposedly justified banning me for life isnt that unfair?

    And why does someone who talks about ra**** kids only gets a warning? Then i have no idea what i said?

    I want a human to review the violation. I don't want a "We determined that the user violated our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We have reviewed and confirmed the violation, and we will not be reinstating the account in question.". I need a real human who can help me understand, not just an automated response.

    I am rejecting this response because: This is now the second time I have received what appears to be a generic copy-paste response, almost certainly generated by an automated system, that completely ignores the detailed information and evidence I have provided in my complaint. This kind of reply is unacceptable in a matter as serious as a permanent account suspension, and it shows a total disregard for my right to defend myself.
    As a French resident, I am protected by both the ******************* Act (DSA) and the ************ Protection Regulation (****). These laws give me the right to receive a clear explanation of any moderation decision, including the specific content in question, the exact rule allegedly violated, and whether the decision was made by an automated system. Discord has failed to comply with these obligations and continues to avoid providing any of this information, which directly undermines my right to access my personal data and to prepare a proper defense.
    I have repeatedly asked for a real human being to review my case and to provide the evidence supporting the accusations against me. Instead, I keep receiving these automated template replies, which give the impression that no one is actually looking into my case at all. This is not only frustrating it is a breach of my legal rights under ** law.
    I am formally demanding that Discord assign a real human moderator to review my case in detail, address the specific issues I have raised, and provide me with the full evidence behind the decision. Without this, my suspension remains completely unsubstantiated and unfair.

    As a final note, the *********** protection authority (CNIL) one of the most respected and powerful regulatory bodies in the ** is already reviewing my case, and it has been officially deemed admissible. This means that, in the eyes of a national regulator, my complaint has clear legal merit and is serious enough to warrant a formal investigation. If Discord continues to ignore my requests and refuses to provide the required information, this could be seen as not only a violation of my rights under the **** and **** but also as a deliberate act of non-cooperation with an ongoing regulatory procedure. Such behavior can carry significant legal and reputational consequences under ** law, and I expect this matter to be taken with the seriousness it deserves.

    Furthermore, Discord has already ignored multiple formal requests from Adroit, an **-certified out-of-court dispute resolution body under the **** despite repeated attempts to engage with them. This refusal to cooperate with an officially recognized intermediary breaches the Article 53 of DSA and further demonstrates a pattern of disregard for European legal obligations and for the fundamental rights of users.

    I am rejecting this response because the suspension was based on a message that was mass-reported by multiple users, not because of an actual policy violation. The same message has already been reviewed in a separate appeal and found not to break Discords Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. Despite this, my account remains suspended. I am still being penalized for content Discord themselves determined was acceptable, which indicates a failure to address coordinated mass-report abuse and a lack of proper human review.     I am rejecting this response because: Discord gave me no workable information regarding what i was banned for, nor shown any human interaction throughout my appeal process only copy pasted messages.
    I believe i was unjustly banned off of the platform due to the recent AI changes and/or a disingenuous individual reporting me due to a personal grudge.

    Hello,My Discord account was recently banned after it was compromised by a third party. While I was not in control of the account, the attacker used it to send illegal material in one of the servers I belonged to. I want to stress that I had no involvement in this activity, and it occurred entirely without my consent.I have already secured my devices and changed all related passwords. I submitted an appeal to Discord explaining the situation, but it appears it has not yet been reviewed.     I was unfairly banned off of Discord. I had an alternative account (rhea_the_great.) that I only had for a few weeks before it got hacked. I was unable to deal with the hacking before the account got banned. My main account (heftycharms), which I've had since 2019, got banned for ban evasion. The wrongs done on the alternative account were not my doing and we're by hackers. My main account has never had any warnings or bans before this and I've never done wrong on Discord.     Dear Discord,I am submitting this complaint regarding the wrongful disabling of my Discord account of five years, and the failure of Discord to take corrective action despite my compliance with all verification requests.On or about August 5th, my Discord account was disabled without prior warning. In the initial notification from Discord, I was informed that I had been reported to local agencies for alleged activity which I firmly deny, and which I believe to be entirely unfounded. At the time, I owned a bot on Discords platform. I believe my account may have been targeted and compromised through unauthorized access to the bot token, and that the malicious activity was carried out by a third party without my knowledge or consent. Following this, Discord claimed my account was disabled for being under the required age to use the platform. They instructed me to submit government-issued photo identification to verify my age and identity. This request came directly from a legitimate Discord support domain, and I fully complied with the submission requirements in good faith, expecting my account to be restored once the verification process was complete.On August 8th, Discord Support notified me that my account had been unlocked. However, despite this statement, my account has remained disabled to this day. I am still being billed for my active Discord Nitro subscription, which I cannot access or use. My repeated follow-up attempts to obtain clarification and resolution have gone unanswered. The actions of Discord in this matter have caused reputational harm, and furthermore, I have been threatened with reporting to authorities based on false accusations, compelled to submit sensitive identification documents, and denied access to an account I have paid for over an extended period. I seek for resolution, and not conflict in this matter. I'm looking for a response, and for my account to be reviewed, and reinstated. Thank you for your attention towards this.

    On July 1, 2025, my Discord account was permanently suspended for an alleged Child Safety policy violation after sharing an image privately with a friend. This image has been publicly available on a major image board since 2018, with no reason to believe it was illegal.Right after the ban, I appealed. In my panic, I wrote that I knew the content was suspicious not because I truly believed it was illegal, but because the automated message suggested it was prohibited, which made me doubt myself. I was under physical and mental stress: this happened two days after my PRK eye surgery, when my vision was severely impaired (light sensitivity, sunglasses indoors, difficulty focusing, blurriness), affecting my judgment and causing me to word my appeal poorly.After the warning, I deleted the image immediately to comply with Discords policies. Unfortunately, the ban came minutes later, so I couldnt clarify further.I want to be clear that I never knowingly shared illegal material. I did not produce the image nor have any interest in such content. I believe the ban was based on an overly broad interpretation rather than actual prohibited content.I respectfully ask Discord to re-review the ban with a human moderator, considering that:The content has been publicly accessible for years without *********** initial appeal may have sounded worse due to stress and vision impairment.I deleted the image immediately after the warning.I have no prior violations.I can provide the original image link and medical documentation if needed. I seek reconsideration, not lowered safety standards.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I understand the image may have looked suspicious, but I genuinely couldnt judge it properly at the time due to my impaired vision (from surgery). Even though its suspicious at first glance, if you look more carefully and take into account how long it has been publicly available it becomes clear why I believed it wasnt illegal. That said, I still wouldnt have posted it if I had been able to pay closer attention to it at the time of the incident.

    Im truly sorry for posting it. I will never share anything like that again, and I ask you to please understand this was a mistake made under very unusual circumstances. My situation was misunderstood, and how severely my sight was affected during that period may be underestimated.

    Please give me a chance. What happened in my case wasnt intentional or malicious, I even deleted it as soon as I received the warning... It was a mistake on my part, and I truly regret it. I value my place in the community and would be grateful for the chance to make things right.

    At top left you can see the post date. Also, the website has been updated just recently, so the favorites can't be seen anymore. But the image used to have around ~2000 favorites, it is famous enough to believe it would've already been taken down if it was really illegal.
