    Hello, Ive been wrongfully banned on the Discord platform for child safety. Im not the only one too. 1000s of people got their account banned as well. Their new ai system is targeting random people. Their support system only uses AI that isnt helpful. I want my account back. Losing my discord account not only ruined my reputation but it also affected my mental and physical health. I gained depression, insomnia and an eating disorder due to this false ban. Ive been using Discord for my primary communication with friends and family for the last 8 years. Losing that account had a negative impact on my ******* add on top of it. The false ban I was banned for sent in 2023. So why did it take them 2 years to ban if it truly violated tos? Because it didnt. I ask Discord if they can please forgive the message and get my account back. This account is important to me. Discord if youre reading this. Im sorry.     I am submitting this complaint regarding Discord **** and a false suspension of my account, despite an appeal that was acknowledged and supposedly resolved by Discord's ************** team.On May 9, 2025, I submitted an appeal for a wrongful "child safety" suspension. The only cited message was "wait... good idea", which clearly contains no inappropriate content. On May 11, 2025, Discord support (via *****) acknowledged that this was a mistake caused by their automated moderation and informed me that the suspension had been lifted.Despite this, my account remains fully suspended, and access to Nitro benefits which I am actively paying for has not been restored. Furthermore, the support ticket was closed without resolution or follow-up, leaving me with no way to contact a real support agent again.This is unacceptable. I have paid over $100 in Nitro subscriptions, and I am currently being denied access to a service I legally purchased. I expect:Immediate reactivation of my account,Full restoration of Nitro services,And a clear explanation as to why the appeal result was not honored.If Discord cannot resolve this promptly, I will be pursuing a chargeback and reporting this issue to additional consumer protection channels.

    Hi there,Recently there was a dispute between two parties (separate from myself) in a Discord server I'm the owner of. Long story short, one of the two wound up reporting the other for violating their child safety policy, resulting in that person's account being suspended. Both that person, myself, and almost everybody else privy to the argument felt that the report and suspension were unjustified, and after about a month of fruitlessly wrestling with Discord's (largely automated) support system, that person reached out to you here at the BBB, finally was able to get the case looked at in detail, and was subsequently UNSUSPENDED.When the party who filed that report found out about the suspension being revoked, they reached out to me and tried to persuade me to throw the reportee out of my server. I said no and explained my reasons as civilly as I could (once again -- this was not the first discussion we had on the matter, and my position had not changed). Once they realized I was not changing my mind, they disengaged, and I thought that would be the end of it. Three or four days later, MY Discord account ( jellyfisharcanist ) was set to "very limited" for allegedly violating the same rule. The content that was reported was two screenshots of something the person who was reported said (again, that person has been unsuspended by Discord).I filed an appeal immediately, but the supposed violation on my account has been maintained without any reasoning being provided. I also attempted to reach out to Discord's support, but only got a stock message in response pertaining to an entirely unrelated issue. I don't know what else to do except ask you for help. Even if what had been in those two original screenshots HAD been a violation -- and Discord deemed that it wasn't in the original report -- it wasn't even anything that I said, and I only shared them because the person who later reported me specifically asked to see them.Thanks so much for your time.

    Hello, I am a user on ********************** who goes by the username ***********. Recently, Discord lifted one of my false violations, due to assistance from the BBB, but I was re-suspended quickly because I am being hit by a wave of false reporting. This wave of false reports is a result of Discords AI, ****** instantly giving a violation to anyone who uses the abbreviation CP. This abbreviation has a different meaning in the ************************ as it is used to describe Creator Points, an in-game value. However, some Discord users are falsely reporting this as a child safety issue, due to the nature of how the abbreviation looks. This is frustrating, as I am unable to use this platform to contact people important to me. This specific case I was suspended for recently is me making a joke about a levels name being abbreviated to something else, and it is very obviously not a serious message. These messages are also several years old, and in private servers I am no longer a part of. If Discord could look at all three of my violations to remove them, I would be thankful.

    Good afternoon,I am currently filing this complaint due to the repeated false violations I had received from Discord, which alleged a breach of their Child Safety policy at around 5/12/25, 8:27PM EST. My introduction included a specific section, stating how I was open to making strictly platonic friendships with individuals that are age 15 and above. I entirely understand that may have been interpreted as a violation, however, there wasn't any inappropriate nor harmful intentions, and I've stated prior that all interactions were user friendly, nothing romantic, nothing inappropriate.However, upon submitting the appeal, which theyve already took down the message, ive received two of the same violations for the same issue, even though the message had already been removed, and the issue had been supposedly addressed. There wasn't any further clarification or any specific reason given for the repeated violations, and there has been no way to directly communicate with a live representative through Discord's official support system.I believe that this case is unfair, especially that I've acted in good faith, acknowledging the issue, and expressed commitment in maintaining Discord's Terms of Service moving forward.     Hi,Discord's rapid incompetence in regards to their support has had me frustrated over the span of almost 2 weeks. I've had my account falsely suspended, and have been in an ever-going loop with their AI support, and no human to talk to. They've been essentially *********** is a summary:I got banned for child safety out of the blue. This has happened to a mate of mine as well, and has been an issue online recently (examples coming).It is impossible for me to be involved in child safety cases, as I've been a minor (child, as per Discord's ToS) until August 2024. That was only when I've turned 18.Anything flagged by Discords AI that I might have said is taken inherently out of context, especially with the language barrier (we speak Afrikaans, where "die" is "the" and "hoe" is "how", etc.) - additionally, what I was flagged for was most likely years ago - WHEN I WAS STILL A ******** previous tickets were marked as solved, when they seriously were not - again, by their *******'s the following in regards to false bans:**************************************************** - An entire game community having their accounts banned for saying "cp" which refers to "creator points" in the Geometry Dash.***************************************************** - People being vaguely banned for "child safety" by Discord's AI bot *****.The above examples affirm my belief that my account suspension was unreasonable - the reasonings, with ridiculous AI justifications from Discord - all stem towards "child safety" - the same as **** am of age, although only recently. I'm not in many public servers, and I only speak to my friends from school.Discord's radio silence in regards to this matter is inherently unacceptable and reflects company standards poorly. This is a terrible look for them and I expect my case to be heard out.Kind regards.

    Discord claims I did something against their terms of service when I fully know I didn't, Instead of telling me what I did wrong when I ask them, they keep telling me that their automated systems should've already told me, but they didn't, Multiple people online are having the same issue as I currently am, including one of my friends that recently got his account reinstated so I know for a fact that this is an ongoing issue at discord and they just gave an automated response most likely since I have received this exact email multiple times when I emailed discord directly myself.

    I know I did nothing wrong against their terms of service, I didn't deserve an account ban, my account was most likely flagged due to an error in their ai not accountig for context or the language barrier since I speak Afrikaans and not always english on discord with my friends.

    I will not settle for anything less than my account being reinstated and them letting me know specifially what I did that was against their terms of service regarding "Child Safety"

    Recently, myself along with numerous other users have been victims of a mass false flag attack via the Discord report system. More specifically, the community I am a part of uses an acronym for an in game currency that when taken out of context can also refer to something highly illegal. This, in combination with Discord's recent outsourcing of their support system to AI has lead to any message being reported that uses this acronym, however innocent, immediately resulting in a user's account being suspended. In my specific case, my account (dysbelief) was suspended due to sending an image containing the acronym during a conversation regarding the false flag attacks. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of attempting to appeal through Discord directly, and as such am now locked out of my account permanently. This is obviously ludicrous, and it's clear my case was not reviewed by a human. This Discord account is crucial in both my personal and professional life and it is of upmost importance it is unsuspended as soon as possible. I am willing to answer any follow up questions one may have about the situation and am prepared to comply with anything required in order to get access to my account back. Thank you.

    I am writing to raise a complaint about the discord support system. I was suspended permanently on 4/20/2025. I have sent multiple tickets through the discord support system to appeal the action taken on my account. All have been marked solved in 2 hours from what I can only assume was a bot. I have read the *** and do not know what i have *** wrong to get suspended. I have tried contacting a person throughout this endeavor via the support system but the only reply I have gotten from anything is from a bot called ******** I have been using discord for 9 years and have grown up with the account in question that is going to be deleted. I would just like to talk to a member of the Trust and Safety team about my suspension and see if there is any way to make the permanent suspension temporary or to at least get my conversation with other users.

    Me and numerous other people have been victims of a mass false flag attack via the Discord reporting system. Specifically, certain messages that appear as harmful that have been sent upwards of 3-7 years ago have been getting users banned, and although these jokes may be distasteful, they are not grounds to keep an account banned. **********************'s recent outsourcing of their support system to AI has lead to any message being reported that contains these phrases in their message, immediately resulting in a user's account being suspended. In my specific case, my account, being named "chloechu" was permanently suspended due to sending a message that contains said message in a public server, and unfortunately, I was targeted for these attacks. I made the mistake of appealing through Discord directly, and due to discord AI replying to my support, instead of a human, I am now locked out of my account permanently, with absolutely no solution. The reason why this is especially an issue, is the fact that I pay for a subscription on discord, called Discord Nitro, and I have no way to cancel said subscription. Furthermore, I have spent 3 years supporting Discord with my subscription, spending over $300. This is obviously ludicrous, since I have been banned unfairly, for a message sent 3 years ago, only now being flagged as harmful, when it was simply in a joking and harmless context, and it's clear my case was not reviewed by a human. This Discord account is crucial in both my personal and professional life, as I use it to keep certain information, advertise my channels and business, and keep in contact with important people to keep my management stable, amongst other things, It is of upmost importance that my infractions are removed as soon as possible. I am willing to answer any follow up questions one may have about the situation and am prepared to comply with anything required in order to get access to my account back. Thank you.

    I am rejecting this response because: I understand discords review of my appeal, however. I would like to re-state that my message is purely context-based, and once viewed in more detail without context, you can see that the message that got me banned was simply a mindless joke I made 3 years ago, which I would have never intended to be harmful. Several friends of mine have been banned for this mass AI ban, and upon a closer review, they have been able to get their accounts back, even when sending similar messages in poor taste. I would greatly appreciate that whoever reviews this appeal can take a bit of time to review the circumstance in a bit more detail, as my message was sent in a public server filled with mostly immature and distasteful jokes. and I would never say something like that nowadays. I also feel that a 3 year old message getting me banned is very harsh, and I would like a second chance, as I do manage my ******* channel, as well as get in contact with others for business.     My Discord account (@techspy, email: ********************* was permanently disabled for an alleged Child Safety violation after I posted a widely shared meme image. The image was not exploitative, illegal, or harmful in nature. I received no prior warning, no context for the violation, and every response to my appeals has been automated or dismissive, with no indication that a human has actually reviewed the case. I submitted a formal **** request as a California resident, asking for (1) a manual review of the account action, (2) access to the personal data and logic used in the decision, and (3) correction or reinstatement if the suspension was based on inaccurate or incomplete data. Instead of fulfilling these legally protected requests, Discord responded with a message referencing the EUs **************** Act which does not apply to me as a U.S. citizen residing in ***********I believe Discord has failed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act by refusing to honor my right to know what data was used to disable my account and by not offering a transparent appeal process. My account contained years of data and messages that I now cannot access. Ive reported the issue to the ************************************ and am now escalating it to the Better Business Bureau in hopes of getting a proper, human-led review and the data access Im legally entitled to under CCPA.

    I am rejecting this response because Discord has failed to provide a clear or specific explanation of what policy was violated. The only response Ive received is a vague, templated message with no human context, no reference to the actual content in question, and no opportunity for due process. The image I posted was a widely shared meme and not in violation of any reasonable standard.
    Furthermore, Discord inappropriately cited the **************** Act (DSA) and the **** to deny my request for data accessneither of which applies to me, as I am a ********** resident. My rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) have been ignored, and Discord has yet to fulfill a proper response to my verified request.
    I expect full transparency, a human-reviewed explanation, and compliance with California privacy law. Until then, I will continue to escalate this matter.

    Discord continues to offer only vague, templated responses without any detail about the alleged violation. They have not provided a specific explanation of what content triggered the permanent suspension or how it violated their Terms of Service. The image I posted was a widely circulated, candid meme not inappropriate, harmful, or exploitative. No warning was issued, and there was no opportunity for real due process or human review.
    Furthermore, Discord has failed to respond to my valid California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) request. Instead, they cited the **** and the **************** Act foreign laws that do not apply to me as a ********** resident. This is a serious mishandling of user privacy rights. My account has since been placed into deletion status, which further obstructs my right to access data that was already requested.
    I have filed formal complaints with the ************************************ (****) and the ************************ (***) due to Discords refusal to comply with U.S. privacy law.
    I am asking the BBB to keep this case open and on record. I do not consider this issue resolved.
