On 5/30/25, my account(gurt_derg) was permanently suspended from the platform for "child safety". I did not do any actions that were listed in the discord terms of service that could result in suspension. Discord did not provide any explanation on why my account was suspended other than the very vague reason of "child safety". I would like for my account to have a second review by a human so that I could possibly be unsuspended.Business Response

My Discord account was suspended in error on June 6, 2025 for content their system wrongfully flagged as breaking their rules of child safety, and my attempts to rectify it on my behalf are only reaching deaf ears despite their many channels for support. The content I posted is a screen-shot of the '*********** show', one minute and fifty-six seconds into episode six, or 'The **** ********* Story', of season one. I've so far submitted three different appeals, only for all of them to be marked 'solved' seemingly via automation and with no effect or interaction with me or my account status. I simply ask for a direct line of contact to any of the actual hard-working individuals behind Discord's automated support so that this error may be solved quickly and efficiently. 1.) The source of the content I posted is from a television series that aired on Public Television.
i. It is from the television series '*********** Show', the link to which can be found within two simple ****** searchesii. The scene it is from is around one minute and fifty-six second mark into the sixth episode of the first season, of which is titled 'The **** ********* Story'
iii. The series premiered January 22, 2003 on Comedy Central, with this particular episode airing just over a month later on February 26, 2003.
2.) The content posted does not harm any children in any way.
3.) The content posted was not and is clearly not intended to be CSEM material
4.) The 'child' pictured is neither real nor generated
I also have very sensitive information, data, and sentimental media secured on that account that requires immediate access.

My friends were wrongfully suspended from the platform. My friends were defending Q**** people from homophobes. However, during the argument, one of them reported most of my friends to Discord. And now they got banned yesterday. But they were banned for things that wasnt even related to the reasoning. For example, my friend Anermely, was banned for child safety. The message was taken out of context. She was simply singing a song. She didnt actually mean it when she said it. And another friend named ****, was banned for child self endangerment. The message was also taken out of context. They were questioning multiple minors inappropriate behavior. And finally, my friend *** was banned for child safety when he was simply telling someone to take a deep breath. Discord wont even let my friends protect q**** minors from those people anymore. They banned the wrong people and kept the homophobes. The homophobes were dehumanizing q**** people. And my friends who were protecting me and others from them got banned. Discord is telling me that its okay to be homophobic and frame people for things that was taken out of context but you cant sing a song, question people, and help calm someone down? This is pure nonsense and I would really appreciate your help to bring back my friends.Business Response

Im writing this complaint because ive been falsely suspended by Discord off of their platform. The suspension was due to the posting of a pornographic image on a private server consisting of only two members.I want to emphasize that the image depicted an adult woman and was sourced from **********, a public platform known for sharing art, including mature content. This complaint is being filed because I was falsely suspended by Discord off of their platform.I havent done anything wrong and I believe my suspension should be lifted and my account reinstated.I had 2 Discord accounts banned, under different emails. The first one under the email **************************** was banned under their child safety rule on April 9th of 2025. Claiming that something I posted violated their rules. I believe this to be false as I do not post on this account and was not using it around the time of the ban. I believe the true reasoning of this ban is that somebody in the same server as me posted something that violated this rule and hence the whole server was banned and I was unfairly given this ban as being in the community. I tried making multiple tickets with discord support, but I havent gotten a single reply back from a real human.Their appeal system also doesn't allow you to type any text to explain your situation only to choose from pre selected options typically saying "I did not break x rule". Additionally when a message that you send is removed and that message is the reason for your ban, they will specifically show you that message in your account violations to tell you what content you posted resulted in the ban, where in my case they have not shown me this either.The second account under the email ************************ was banned automatically 2 weeks later on April 27th, 2025 for the reason of ban evasion. At the time of receiving this ban I had no idea that the other account had even received it's ban as I hadn't used the account in over 2-3 weeks. This is the primary account that I want to be unbanned as it was not involved in any groups relating to the first account, and the ban on the first account is believe to be unjust.Business Response

The main thing is that I was supposedly banned because something I posted violated their terms and conditions and I still don't know what that was nor believe that it was my post that broke those rules. On April 19th , my Discord account was permanently disabled due to an alleged violation involving child safety. However, the context of the interaction was misunderstood, and I believe the ban was issued prematurely and unjustly. The situation arose after another user revealed their age in an unexpected manner, to which I responded, You f****** tricked me. This was not a solicitation or predatory act it was a clear expression of shock and disapproval. My response indicated discomfort, not intent.Despite this, Discord proceeded with a permanent ban and refused to provide further clarification or allow a meaningful appeal. Their appeal process is opaque and dismissive. I submitted a request for review, which was either denied without justification or ignored altogether.I understand the importance of protecting users, especially minors, on online platforms. However, I believe users also deserve a transparent process, fair evaluation of intent and context, and at least one opportunity for dialogue before a permanent decision is made.I am requesting that the BBB review Discords enforcement and appeal practices regarding bans for sensitive issues, and urge Discord to allow users a chance to explain misunderstandings before issuing irreversible account closures.Thank you for your time and consideration.Business Response

This complaint is being made because I was unfairly suspended from the Discord *********** account was compromised by another person, who ended up sending an inappropriate image without my knowledge. I am rejecting this response because:I believe my account was unfairly and permanently suspended for something I did not do. A former high school friend, who had access to my account, was the one responsible for sending an inappropriate image. I immediately recognized the image because he had sent it before in a *************** As soon as I saw it, I deleted the message to avoid any problems, but despite my actions, I still received a warning and eventually a permanent suspension.
I am certain it was him. I even have a screenshot of him logging into my account. If Im not mistaken, he was either from ********* or Par somewhere around there, but I dont remember exactly. I also know when he last logged into my account because he used Opera GX, and for some reason, he kept changing his location through the browser. Ive used Opera GX before, so I know how that works and recognized it at the time.
If you check, most of my account activity, including IP addresses and logins, are from Maranho. This difference should help confirm that the suspicious activity wasnt mine.
After a personal disagreement, I cut ties with him, and I believe he did this to harm me. What hurts most is that Discord is my main platform for communication and studying. I use it to relax with friends and also to prepare for upcoming college entrance exams. I had valuable notes, study materials, and important conversations stored on my account.
Since this happened, Ive been feeling increasingly anxious. I even started therapy recently to deal with everything Ive been going through. I truly ask for a second chance. Ive learned the importance of not sharing my account credentials and will never do it again.
I also want to clarify that I used an older Discord account while trying to resolve the situation. My intention was not to evade a ban, but simply to stay connected with my friends and continue my studies while trying to get help. Unfortunately, that led to an ban evasion flag, which I now understand was a mistake. I only did it because my tickets were being closed automatically or responded to by bots.
This whole situation does not reflect who I am. Ive never sent harmful content and Ive always used Discord respectfully. I kindly ask that you consider my side and give me the opportunity to recover my account and correct my mistake of letting someone else access it.

My account was compromised by someone else, and I have evidence that the login came from a different location and person. I have explained this clearly and even accepted responsibility for sharing my account access a mistake I deeply regret.
