Hello, the website Intelius collects data about individuals available via public records. They then use this information to create a report which can be searched in their online database. In reviewing the information they hold about me, I discovered that they have a photo that is no longer available on the web anywhere and is not part of public records or the public domain. I have exchanged 11 emails with them on this matter and asked them to remove it from their internal database. They have replied that they will suppress my data per my request but have not confirmed they will delete this photo. I believe that having collected this photograph is a violation of existing privacy regulations and there is no reason why they should not remove from their internal files. My email correspondence has been unsuccessful thus I am filing this compliant. It is my hope that by filing this complaint that they will remove the photograph from their database and stop collecting photos they download from the web and include in aggregated reports.Business Response

this still does address the request which is for the company to delete the picture included in my record which they pulled from a website that is no longer online. The request is for them to delete it from their system not for it to be suppressed. They seem to not understand this- I am asking them to delete not suppress it.

I have sent 9 emails requesting that my personal information be deleted. Intelius directs me to use their suppression tool which does not work for me because the emails and phone numbers related to my name are wrong. However, I have explained this situation several times and they redirect me to use the suppression tool each time. The website states that if I contact customer service they will verify my identity another way, which I requested be done several times. Hello. I have Experian for credit monitoring. Part of that credit monitoring is to remove personal data from personal data sites. On occasion I need to request the removal directly from these companies. In this case for Intelius.com, who is owned by a company called PeopleConnect. The absolute scam of this company is they have such outdated personal info such as an email or phone from 20 years ago, and they hide behind that guise as to why they can't remove me. This is a tactic used by these scumbag companies to keep your info public. PeopleConnect a scumbag company owns truthfinder.com, intelius,com, instantcheckmate.com, and USSearch.com. Additionally, we offer manual validation, but unfortunately it does not appear that ****************** has provided us with the necessary information to remove the correct report. Unfortunately, it doesnt look like ******************' has provided us with enough information to process his request manually. Please have him submit the email addresses, physical addresses, or phone numbers that may be on his report to [email protected]. We will only use this information to process his request.

I have been attempting to get my information removed/suppressed from Intelius for over 2 weeks now. I first attempted suppression through their automated online system, but my info wasn't removed. I then contacted Intelius support on 8/12 requesting removal, and was told that they couldn't find a profile matching my information. I sent back 5 screenshots showing my info still being supplied by Intelius on the following sites:Intelius AnyWho Addresses.com ReversePhoneLookup Yellow Pages The Intelius support agent responded that my profile had been found and suppressed, and that it could take up to 48 hours for the information to be removed. This timeline has now passed and my information is still available on all of the above mentioned sites. Everytime I try to sign in I keep receiving a "looks like your trying to sign in somewhere else go verify" after I "verify" and close all windows, tabs, and applications I get the exact same email cause me to chase a never ending cycle of "verify" so I need someone to be contacts me ASAPBusiness Response

When a user activates their account, they must provide an electronic signature authorizing Intelius to charge their payment method as described, including for the automatic renewal of their membership. Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email for any orders placed on the site.
In order to access the services and obtain a report, they must first log into their account by going to ********************/login. Their username will be the email address used to create their membership, and the password is the one they entered upon creating their account. If they do not recall their password, please click the Forgot My Password link on the login page or contact us so that I may reset their password manually.
We have cancelled all memberships and issued a reversal to ************************* account back to the payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. I appreciate you suppressing those results, but that is not sufficient. You claim that *** care about the privacy of our consumers", but how is maintaining a database of people's personal information showing anything but a lack of care about someone's privacy? You care about making money off of selling information about people without their consent. While some of the data on my profile is publicly available, it was made that way with the intent of being made available to the entity I gave it to, not for companies like yours to slurp up, package, and sell for a quick dollar. Public parks are publicly available, but you can't go digging up trees and bushes to sell, and you should not be selling people's information.
Much of the information on my profile, such as emails, phone numbers, and old addresses, is not publicly available today and never has been. It's clear you bought it from somewhere else or scraped it from places where it wasn't intended for you to sell.
I want you delete the information you have aggregated about me from your databases, not simply suppress it. If you scrape it again in the future, so be it - I'll go through your process again and have it suppressed.

The data described in your privacy policy conveniently omits the "public" data you collect about people. I am asking you to delete that data, not data I have provided to you.
Again, most of the data you claim is publicly available is not. You bought it or scraped it from somewhere not intended for your consumption.
Your suppression tool is not satisfactory; I object to you keeping a dossier of information about me and demand that you delete it. I don't trust you to keep it safe, and when you are inevitably hacked, my information is further leaked to bad actors.
Your do not have permission to keep my personal in your databases. Delete it immediately.

I am receiving more than 30 emails per day. I called to have them stop. They said they couldn't because I don't have an account. In other words, their instrusion into my life is my fault.Business Response
