1 starI agree, this deceitful company deserves "0" stars ! I, too, agreed to a one time charge of .95 cents for a reverse lookup of a number from a disturbing text message ? Unbeknownst to me Spokeo enrolled me in a 7 day trial which had an $24.95 auto-pay attached ?? I did not knowingly agree to the latter as it was not clear that I needed to cancel within 7 days ? This company is so deceitful with their deceptive practices. They refunded me $9.98 but I want the rest of the $24.95.Spokeo, Inc.

1 starI felt sick to my stomach when I found out that Spokeo had been debiting $24.95 out of my account for almost two years.I am struggling to make ends meet and I would have never agreed to pay monthly for a service that I never used!The bank informed me that there were 21 payments recorded on my account totaling ********* called Spokeo, immediately, and explained my plight.Spokeo's representative found my account and and was more than willing to cancel the subscription.I explained that I was a single disabled mother on a fixed income and I wanted a refund of all the money that was debited from my bank account.The rep explained that he can refund me $299.40 and that they are not able to refund more than 12 months of payments.I told him that I did not agree to that amount.I explained to the rep that I needed all my money back, not just part of it.I told him that each month that Spokeo took $24.95 away from me was likened to taking 2-3 meals away from my family.I told him that, at the beginning of last week, I had only $.17 in my bank account and I was not in the position to having money taken from me like this. The rep offered to transfer me to a supervisor.I told him that I didn't ask to speak to a supervisor,I just wanted him to make this situation right and give me my entire refund.Well the rep transferred me to the supervisor anyway.The supervisor stuck to Spokeo's refund policy and informed me that the prior rep refunded the $299.40 without my consent.I pleaded with him and explained how this was unethical,but the supervisor was not willing to consider my circumstances and told me that he was going to end the call and hung up in my face.I was sent a survey the next day and I used that opportunity to explained what happened and never received a response.I see that others here on this site,was refunded all of their money, I know for a fact that I have been discriminated against because I am a black disabled woman.I can't believe that they would do this to my familySpokeo, Inc.

1 starI am livid and angry that Spokeo can post information about me on their website without my permission. I am a very private person and do not appreciate my business being divulged to the world. If people what information about me they need to contact me directly as opposed to broadcasting my data. I have endless spam calls and texts now. I get mailings for deceased parents wanting money. Good Luck on that. I get mailings and texts from realtors wanting to buy my house which is not for sale. For one,I would never sell to a spam caller to begin with. I do not have accounts(that I know of) on social media, ****************** etc. as my life is not for all to know. When searching I do not allow "cookies" and have the most strict privacy settings. There needs to be a law like HIPPA for medical on what websites can post. Since my address is all over the world, people throw trash including condoms in my yard. I am hated by a lot of people at a SNF in ********, ** and do not need any more of this. There is only so much I can take. Next microchip us so there is absolutely no privacy.Spokeo, Inc.

The listings on Spokeo.com contain only Public Information. Personal information, on the other hand, such as information that users provide to Spokeo about themselves or information about their use of Spokeo, is not included in the Public Information that is made available through the Spokeo.com people search.
Spokeo regards your inquiry as a request to have your Public Information removed from public listings available on Spokeo.com. As such, Spokeo has suppressed from public display on Spokeo.com the Public Information it believes to be associated with you (based on the information you provided about yourself in your inquiry).

1 starOrdered a .95 report one time. They apparently enrolled me in an auto pay for ***** a month. I did not sign up for this. If I did, I was completely deceived. I never saw "7 day trial" or "***** auto pay". The company will only refund ****. VERY deceptive. Also they gave me no more info than I already had from a free internet search so what I got was useless. Please beware using this fraudulent company who apparently suckers people in to a monthly payment that they aren't aware of. There are so many similar complaints that it obviously isn't a consumer problem. Made a mistake by not reading the reviews prior to using the .95 cent report.Spokeo, Inc.

1 starScam. I'd give zero stars if I could and have them arrested for fraud! They lead you in thinking you are making a one time $0.95 search that reveals absolutley nothing...and I do mean nothing, just a bunch of blank spaces. I could have thrown Alphabet soup at the wall and received more information from what stuck, than what they "provided". Though they promise full results. Then, through some under handed and dirty small print tactics that I'm not even sure is in the small print (and who is searching for hidden small print when their different-abled brother is getting his heart broken and being taken for what little he has by a possible romance scam artist) they charge $25 to your account a week later. You know, a "FREE" trial does not cost $0.95. And when you call them to get your money back, they say that they do not do "refunds" and you have to argue that getting back stollen money is not a refund, it is reversing a crime. And, they will not refund until you have to threaten them with reporting them to the authorities. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't using our information we provide to perpetrate more identity and phishing scams, and/or to collect information on us for their so-called data-base. Ever since using them I've been getting non-stop spam calls on top of them stealing money from me. I bet they make the scam calls in the first place, so that we will have to look them up, so that they can steal our money. They are just as dirty as the scammers, spammers, and phishers. These people make me sick. Do Not Use Them!!!! And, it isn't the $25 - it's the principle. We are out here getting lied to and our identities, money, and trust stollen from - all the time, and they claim to be one of the ones that can help prevent or defend against an ever growing problem, but they ARE a part of the problem. It's disgusting. To the person copy/pasting fake apologies to the complaints...don't bother with me. I see right through you now. And, get a new job.Spokeo, Inc.
