Was sent a **** debit card in the mail with my name, customer service was vague about getting account closed which leads me to believe cashapp may be part of this. Have already created a report with ***, ******************************, all 3 Credit Bureaus, and local police for potential identity theft and leaking data. **** closed card for me even though Cash app and ***************** issued card. Further researching did find that it is not uncommon for Cash app to issue cards randomly to people and provide no help with closing accounts.Business Response

Account Number ************* $CMJDPerez - I am disputing a transaction since Cash App denied it even though I did not authorize it plus further researching the company (*******) is a fraudulent company. Transaction processed on August ****** for $128.75 by *******, attach is a copy, this company tried 3 times with the first 2 being denied and somehow the 3rd transaction process through. CashApp is saying that I authorized it, which I did NOT. Again, Del Mar is known for fraudulent transaction, stole my money and CashApp will not help to get it back. Therefor I am asking for BBB to help get this resolved. I never authorized Del Mar to take my $128.75 nor received anything from product or services for this transaction. I had a cashapp account and when my phone was stolen or lost someone started using my account but they logged in from a different phone they only used my phone to receive the codes to access the account they also linked their card to my account I guess they was gambling w the cash app account now ********************** has closed my account and refuses to reopen that one or a new one i want a account w them it's clean I'm the victimBusiness Response

I was made aware by an establishment named where i had ****************************************************************** that there were 17 xhargebacks/disputes filed on my card. I have never filed a charge back nor dispute with of these transactions Square/cash app acted maliciously and without thought if they filed 17 chargebscks on my account without any notification whatsoever to me I have use several other debit cards at this location and none of my other banks have ever filed one....the establishment in question is now asking me about why I filed all these which I never did square and ashapp have put me ina. Very precarious spot since I have a working relationship with this location where the chwrgebacks occurred again I never initiated any of them and if 17 were filed on my behalf why was I never notified I had to bring it to supports attention now they are aksong me for dates of these chargebacks...if Square is the one who did all of this they should have record of that on my end I show all charges that I am aware of as being charged the business in question is claiming over 2300 in chargeback have occurred and now my relationship with said business is in jeopardy because Square can't follow simple rules if there was fraud suspected or detected how did my card remain open an active this whole time there was never a time I was asked to confirm any of the 36 charges at this location but other merchant time to time I get an alert for my safety tjay I have to clear I need clarification as to why they did all these chevebacks and why I the consumer was never made aware of these and now the establishment is considering escalating this matter to the authorities because of the amount totalling over 2300 dollars this is absurdCustomer Answer

While his was going on cash App only response was claims that they returned funds to me, which does not reflect in my transaction history so there is no transparency. They did admit that they themselves did the chargebacks but did not advise the merchant that it was performed by the banking institutor and not the consumer nor did they ever notify me the consumer. i found this out from the location directly which I was put into an unfair situation. While this has been going on and not resolved ***** did two more chargeback this past weekend from August transactions and again did not list happening in the history, I saw an impact to my balance and was able to confirm. Cash App (owned by Block, Inc.) suspended my account without any clear explanation or notice. I attempted to contact customer support multiple times to understand the reason and retrieve the money I had in the account, but I received no helpful response.I have done nothing wrong and am fully willing to verify my identity and account ownership. However, I have been unable to access my funds or get any kind of resolution.This situation has caused me significant stress, frustration, and inconvenience, especially given the lack of transparency and customer support from **********************. This company is a SCAM!!!!! I received a **** cash app card i did not open. This was a legit card with a chip and all numbers and security code on back. Exp date. Everything. Issued by *****************. I contacted this cash app number on the back of the card. They told me that because I do not have an account with them, I will have to have them send me a link via email where I will respond with all my TRUE personal information and then I will need to upload pictures of this card, front and then back into this random link. It gets crazier. After I upload the pictures of the card, front and back to cash app then I just have to trust them, that they received the photos and that they deactivated the card. They cannot and will not verify with me because I do not have an account with them, meaning, they don't recognize my ACTUAL phone number. I told them I don't have an account with them but a criminal does who is claiming to be ME and who has used my information illegally. They told me, I'm sorry. There is nothing we can do. Just upload the pictures. And trust us. I asked to be forwarded to the security team who they said would be receiving the pictures of the card, they told me, sorry, we only have this one number. I asked to speak with a manager, they told me, sorry can't do that either. I called ***************** but because I do not have an account with them I had to leave a message. I did receive a call from them, she said we will email cash app so they can close, she took the number of the card and told me she would contact them and ask them to deactivate it, but she told me she can't verify to me if they actually do, I'll have to call them. I believe Cash App opens legit cards to customers that they do NOT approve and then have them call the number on the back of the card so they can upload the legit cards and now they have all they need to scam you for real!!!!Customer Answer

This institution backs cards that are issue by their "PARTNERS" one of them is CASH APP. Someone opened a debit card on Cash app on my name I did not authorized. When I contacted ***************** to report the issue since they are the Financial entity backing this card they said we will email cash app so they can close it. When i asked why so many ppl are having this same issue with this Bank/Partner she said she will have cash app close it and what else do I want them to do? How about investigate why this is happening in the first place!! I believe this bank is in on this scam!! When i said to the lady i will report the bank and Cash App...she said do you what you got to do and hung up!! Go figure...Business Response

The expected delivery date was August 1, 2025, but the item was never delivered.I attempted to contact the merchant several times with no response. I then filed a dispute with Cash App, providing proof of purchase, documentation of my attempts to reach the seller, and confirmation that the product was never delivered.Despite this evidence, Cash App denied my claim, citing that the transaction was authorized.
