Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Facebook due to their negligence in handling a serious security breach involving my wife's account, registered under ************************* *************************** Despite our repeated attempts to regain control of the account, ********************'s support team has failed to provide adequate assistance.The compromised account contains sensitive information, including private images of our baby. The hackers have changed the account's associated email and phone number, making it inaccessible to us. We requested Facebook to disable the account until it can be secured, but our request has been ignored.We believe Facebook's inaction could constitute a violation of privacy rights, negligence, breach of contract, and potentially aiding identity theft. Furthermore, the lack of accessible emergency contact methods for users is a significant concern.We urge the Better Business Bureau to intervene and direct Facebook to take immediate action. I have uploaded the screenshots that I took of a message that a hacker sent my daughter to give them money in return of my Facebook account. The hacker is using my profile to fraudulently sell items ranging from exercise equipment to puppies. They have already scammed friends. I have lost all control of my account. The hacker has changed my password, email and telephone number. ALL attempts at recovering my account have failed. No one at Facebook will help and close the account. My facebook and instagram accounts were deleted on january 1st 2023 for no reason. I repealed the decision twice and provided the information they requested like my ID and was denied access even after that. My Facebook account was hacked early morning on July 4th. I received an email from Facebook saying that someone from near *******, ********* added an email address to my account; another email saying they erased both of my email addresses from the account; another email saying they erased my phone number from the account; and every attempt for me to report my account as stolen has failed. Facebook apparently has no phone numbers whatsoever that can be called (this, I think, should in & of itself be a crime). And, whoever hacked into my account started running *********************** on a page that I'm an administrator of, causing $1,800 in financial damage. Still, I have apparently no way whatsoever to communicate with Facebook. Each and every time (over 50 times) that I attempted to report my account as hacked / stolen, it either a) got frozen forever on a screen that said "Submitting ID", or b) said I had been locked out for trying to report my account as having been hacked too many times.Initial Complaint

On May 15, 2023 meta sent me a link with in my personal facebook professional dashboard. It read caution please confirm and secure your business account or it will be deactivated with in a set time. I clicked the link and the next day May 16,2023 two of my business page admins and myself were deleted and removed completely of my Facebook business page. The hackers took over my account and removed me as financial administrator. After they removed us completely they began to post in a private group gaining over 19 k followers which incurred 6k of income in my name. Currently Im receiving meta invoices with the amount the hackers are receiving under my name in their bank. Im very concerned that *** tried numerous attempts to contact Facebook to hep and they have responded that my business account has not been compromised. This situation is ruining my income status and small Facebook business reputation. We have a business account/page Kickapoo Creek Toy Aussies that we have been using for years. Nothing has changed as far as activity or how we handle our page. We post the same content that we always have. Back in November and December of 2022, we started getting flagged and restrictions placed on our account. No explanation or solid reason. Just the very basic, vague Facebook language that it goes against community standards. We tried to dispute but it is impossible to speak to anyone. In the rare moment you make contact with a live person, it is some overseas that doesnt speak great English and reads off a script and can offer no real assistance. Not once has it been explained why these restrictions took place and are still there. I got a lame excuse that it was just a content issue. That is false and our content and posts have not changed. We have paid hundreds in advertising for our page. We get messages and notifications from Facebook encouraging us to place ads but then get flagged and restricted for weeks/months. The restrictions are still in place. Where we used to get ****s of interactions, we now barely get *****. So Facebook asks us to advertise and even provides ad credits and we now have almost 12k followers but then restricts paying accounts and limits visibility so hardly any of those followers actually sees our posts. Facebook can either lift the restrictions or we will file a lawsuit through our attorney. This is fraud and theft of funds through false advertising. This has had a severe impact on our business and livelihood. We are a live brick and mortar business. We have a legitimate business website. We have a state license.
