I woke up to my Facebook account hacked and taken over by someone else. They somehow changed my password, phone number, email, and started an authentication app. This made it nearly impossible to recover the account. After recovering the account eith my id verification I now am faced with a ban and forced to appeal. My name has been changed to ************* Copywrite Defamation. My Instagram account seems to be the source of the hack as it posted and messaged multiple people. Now I cannot recover or access the account. My email was not compromised nor was my computers or phone. I want to know how to get my accounts back enstated. The appeal process is taking too long. Why is this requiring me to appeal at all? It is clearly a case of stolen account information. I feel my accounts should have been reinstated without appeal. Facebook allowed my information to be compromised and now I am punished for it.Initial Complaint

Hello, is their someone I can talk to about how awful it is that facebook does not help you recover your hacked accounts?? I have years worth of memories of my child gone. I have gone through every possible recovery option they provide and nothing. The hacker changed my email, removed my phone number yet the only option to recover the account is to send the hacker a one time code!! I've sent my photo ID in multiple times, I've sent facebook multiple emails and absolutely nothing from them. How is this ok? I need your help! On or around July 14, 2023 my account was hacked which is connected to my business page. I was unable to get back into it until around Aug 15. In that time the hacker had changed the name to the account, email address and phone number so I couldnt get access. Once I figure out how to get back in I went thru my page I noticed that the hacker had been chatting with FB about how to increase the threshold amount for creating ads. Most of the conversation was deleted so I couldnt see everything that was said. I received an email a few days ago from FB about saved payment methods etc. I looked in the app and discovered that ads were placed using my FB account between July 15 and 16th. There were 6 ads ranging from $25 to $75 that were placed tho I didnt have access to the account at that time and havent ran ads since 2020. Because of this, the FB app is showing that I will be charged $65.30 plus tax on September 30 or if a threshold of $75 is reached for placing ads-whichever comes first. You cant call them and when I tried to dispute the balance etc thru the help center, I kept receiving a that link is broken page. I do not want to be charged for ads that I didnt run. I imagine that when its time to collect that the card that was put on file to secure the ads will not be able to be charged the $65.30+ so they will attempt to get the funds from me. Do not charge me for something that I didnt do!!!! The billing address, business name and name that was used are not associated with me in any way. And the *********** doesnt help with anything. My Facebook account of 12 years was hacked. My ************* number were changed by the hackers so there is no way I can get into my account. All of the steps Facebook gives to recover the account only lead to a dead end. All I can do is watch while the hackers post scams about me selling bitcoins and helping people get rich. In desperate attempts to get Facebooks attention I created a new account from which I repeatedly reported the posts that the hackers were putting up. Facebook handled that by blocking me from seeing the posts (friends who stay on the account to watch it for me can still see all of the posts). I have many friends reported the account and then unfriended or blocked it. I would hope that so many reports would alert the Facebook algorithms but nothing happens. All of my friends get a notice back that reads under fair community guidelines They then write if your friend thinks he has been hacked have him take these steps. They offer the same steps that get me nowhere because my email, phone and password are no longer on the account. I have repeatedly emailed ********************************** and *********************************** but I have received absolutely no response. Facebook does not offer support and allows criminals to take over. I have been trying to text friends and get the word out but over 12 years I had amassed about ***** friends.I saw a story where a news team expos got involved in a situation like this and the ** team at Facebook helped the two people the story was about to get their accounts back. This tells me Facebook CAN do something if theyre held accountable and are worried about their reputation so it is incredibly frustrating that they do nothing if theres nothing at stake for them. On 9/5/23, my personal Facebook account and two of my business accounts were hacked. My profile name was changed from ************************* to Meta copyright bawchhiatna. My email address and phone number were removed, and changed. Im unable to login or access these accounts. They were also removed from my IG accounts. Ive tried following all of the Facebook guidelines on how to report, and secure the account on multiple occasions without any luck. I have sent numerous emails and have yet to receive a response. I have reported the page as a hack from multiple friend accounts as well. Seems as if Facebook doesnt have any interest in helping me retrieve these accounts. I have bank account/PayPal information linked to those accounts, and I believe the hackers are possibly attempting to use my information for future purchases. I think they uploaded a picture of the Instagram logo to show copy right infringement , and thats when the attacked begin. Facebook as part of Meta, keeps suspending my accounts WITH NO PROFF. This most recent claim is about consent but they DID not contact the person to whom they claim to be protecting. On or about 2am this morning I received a message from what I thought was a friend of mine. I was instructed to give them a code as they were locked out of their Facebook account. When I sent the code I was then locked out of both my Facebook and Instagram accounts. The email information was changed . I contacted Facebook followed the prompts to reset my page but couldn't do so as an error message was generated everytime. Additionally the only email on my account should be ****************** However another email was on my account which I did not Authorize . I reached out to Facebook Meta Instagram via ******** I also followed the prompts on each website . Verification of my Identification was provided. I then noticed I was repeatedly receiving the same reset code. Letting me know the hacker had infiltrated my email as well. I would like my account to be restored fully as various personal and sentimental pictures and videos are there. Ie pictures / videos of my parents now deceased. My Facebook account was hacked and following the prompts on the screen all turn up to be dead links. Ive attempted to email Facebook with no answer. I ve emailed META and had no answers. Searching the web and found that numerous other users have the same issues when someone hacks their account and uses their information. Its identity theft.
