2 starsI want to warn anyone who is thinking about purchasing certified refurbished products from Ring not to do so. I purchased a certified refurbished security system from Ring on January 25, 2023. I've had issues with the base station disconnecting from my Wi-Fi, and then it goes into mobile data back up and I am then limited to what I can do with my alarm system on the Ring app. I was just told that Ring's certified refurbished products have no warranty. So, now, I am stuck with a base station that does not work properly. I would not have purchase the product if I knew it did not come with a warranty. Also, I was just informed that the Ring Pro base station is the only device that will connect to Ring security cameras. If I would have known that, I would have bought the Pro in the very beginning. I contacted Ring to let them know that in September of this year, I will be purchasing a new alarm system with another company. So my word of advice is to NOT buy certified refurbished products from Ring, and in all honesty, I would go with another company entirely when it comes to home security needs.Ring

1 starChange your upload policy. I posted a trespasser video this morning and it was not approved. It was completely acceptable and valid. I do not appreciate you censoring your customers. This was the entire point to make the neighborhood aware of issues going on. Fix it.Ring

Hello *****,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. On June 16, 2023, Ring entered into a settlement with the ************************ the nations consumer protection agency to resolve the ***s allegations that more employees and contractors than necessary had access to the stored videos collected by Ring cameras. The *** alleges that several years ago, a limited number of employees viewed customers videos without their permission and without a business reason. These individuals are no longer employed by Ring.
Since 2018, we have significantly changed our access and review practices. Now, only a very small number of employees can access videos, and only in very limited circumstances. You can learn more about our privacy practices at *****************************************. Visit here for more information about this settlement.
We understand that the *** is providing refunds to some Ring customers based on a number of factors, such as what type of Ring device was owned and when. Thus, we recommend contacting the *** directly regarding your specific questions at ************** or www.ftc.gov/ring.
Sincerely,Review fromChelsea S

1 starI am a shared user on an account and the primary user is an abusive individual that I do not want to contact to have the cameras removed from my dashboard. I get 50+ notifications a day from the 10 cameras they have at that house, but its linked to my personal ring account with my front door camera so I cant just delete the app. I pay for the service for MY camera. I want to still use MY camera and get MY notifications. All the customer support could say was there was nothing they could do I HAD to contact the abusive account holder and ask them to remove me.Ring

1 starToday a friend pulled up in my driveway and got out and went into my car to retrieve his house keys. He then got back into his car and backed out of the driveway to witch none of this was recommended. Might as well just leave the keys for the burglars. Absolute joke, **********************.Ring

1 starIll be shopping other home security options because I refuse to buy another product or pay an annual fee for a product that fails (Floodlight Camera Pro) and a company that wont stand behind their product. Ive paid them every year for just camera monitoring access to past events and that is joke but my warranty is voided because of an outdated card from 2020 that had a lapse in my coverage for 3 days and Ive been paying annually since 2019. Scam artist company!Review fromCeleste R

1 starI think Ring doesn't deal fairly and openly with its customers when it comes to renewing your contract. Ring asks you to renew the contract to maintain continuity in service, however, the company refuses to issue the customer a receipt for payment until after the current contract has expired and the new renewal date begins. Why does Ring expects its customer to allow their contracts to expire first if they want a receipt at the time of purchase? No other company operates like that. Doesn't the customer deserve a payment receipt at the time of payment to ensure his/her personal property remains protected at all time?Ring

1 starI was a shared user on the account. They only allow one primary user which was my husband. My husband passed away last year and for almost a year I have been trying to transfer the account. First it worked for a while and then suddenly stopped. I called and they said, "you will need to get a letter from your husband giving us permission to transfer it over." That was after I said he was deceased. I depend on my Ring to see who is at my door and even moreso after becoming a widow. They said I had to use a tool to take the cover off, press an orange button and it will send out an email to transfer the account. First I've had the Ring for years. I had no idea what tool so a representative said he would send the tool to me. I waited for 2 weeks and never got it. I had to order it on Amazon. I did exactly what they said and no one told me I had to take the Ring offline for 2 weeks so I've been waiting the initial 2 weeks and got no communication. I just called them and expressed how stupid this policy is and dangerous. Had I not been on the account, I would understand. But I was a shared user and the freaking thing is on my wall so I don't understand why they're making me do this. Also they just charged me $58 they said for recording fees. I've only had live view. I talked to a rep and he was rude. I talked to someone named ********* on chat and he basically hung up on me and he's the only one apparently that chats because each time I tried to go back on it was him and he just ended the conversation.Ring
