Survey Junkie is a safe and secure website, trusted by millions of members who take surveys and redeem on a daily basis. This is also highlighted by the fact that the member has already redeemed over $104 since joining Survey Junkie. Please note that though it can be disappointing, getting disqualified or terminated from surveys is a common occurrence and a part of survey taking throughout the survey industry. It is possible that during the survey, as the survey providers were gathering information, they determined the member was not the kind of participant they were looking for, so they terminated the survey. This can happen at any point in a survey, regardless of how much is completed. Please note that Survey Junkie has no say in members getting disqualified or terminated from a survey and it is up to the sole discretion of the survey providers. With that being said, we want to reiterate that we value the efforts of our members and we are committed to working with third-party survey providers to constantly improve the survey-taking experience for members.Initial Complaint

I am a subscriber of an online survey site called "surveyjunkie.com" where you agree to take surveys from companies the site connects you to in exchange for a set amount of points. The points accumulate in various amounts which can be redeemed for gift cards to retail stores or your bank account. This site is notorious for allowing survey companies to falsely advertise on amounts of time a survey will take & routinely kick you out of a survey due to responses they don't like, well after you've put in chunks of time completing and coming to the end of a survey. I've reached out to the site several times. They hide behind "disclaimers" that state they are not responsible for how the companies they connect you to do their business. Recently, I spent ***** on a survey & was about to submit it & claim the ********************************************************************************************************************************************** further product studies where they'd send me a product to "test out" for a period of time. I was uncomfortable giving this type of info. out over the internet, so I opted not to provide it. I was immediately kicked out of the survey & was told I was somehow "disqualified" - well after spending the time to take the entire survey. Since the company did not state it's intent to ask for such info. at the beginning of the survey & kicked me out of it at the end simply for not providing such info., I feel that this warranted investigation into their practices. I reached out to "surveyjunkie.com" support staff & asked for a reimbursement of the points rejected by the company, and asked they look into how they do business. I received a completely irrelevant form letter which missed the point entirely and a reiteration that they are somehow "not responsible" for anything that happens through their site. I find all of this very unacceptable & would like the BBB to look into correcting how "surveyjunkie.com" does business.Business Response

Please note that surveys may ask for personal information (such as zip code, date of birth), but members are not required to provide this information. They may choose to decline participation at any time and terminate the survey. However, requesting PII (personal identifiable information), is strictly against Survey Junkie's Terms of Use.
We hold a high standard of quality to the surveys allowed on our platform. Thus, if any surveys request PII, we ask that members report the ** **************************** for further investigation. We will take the necessary steps to ensure that requests like this are not made by 3rd party providers. For more context and transparency, 3rd party providers compile these surveys and are the sole proprietors of the decision-making process. While they must follow guidelines to adhere to Survey Junkie policy, it is at their discretion on who qualifies for the survey.
Additionally, due to privacy considerations, Survey Junkie does not share members' personal information with third-party survey providers. As a result, the provider does their best to provide an average survey completion time, but note this average may not apply to every member. Some may be able to complete it faster and some may take longer to answer each question, it all depends on the content and how much the member shares. This is also why members may be asked repetitive questions, as providers do not have prior access to this information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have opted to "accept" their response & end the inquiry.However, I'd like to state clearly one more time that I DID reach out their support staff numerous times about all the issues I brought up in my original complaint. They claim to hold the survey companies they connect with to a high standard, but I had to bring this to the BBB in order to even hear that from them. All they ever said to me in response to my many emails was, "disqualifications happen routinely without our control" and "we're not responsible for how the survey companies conduct their business". That's why I brought this to the BBB. I think you should keep a close eye on this site & flag any shady dealings you may find. As for me, I'm done with them. I found a different survey site that actually cares about it's users and the customer service and support staff are friendly and courteous. The opposite interaction I've had with survey junkies.

I have completed surveys for Survey Junkie for several years. I have accumulated ***** points which means I have earned $49.45. I completed the forms to prove my identity in order to redeem the points and was immediately sent a notification that my account was suspended without cause. I have sent three e-mails to Survey Junkie and called (left a message). No one has gotten back to me and I am unable to get in touch with a live person.Business Response

In order to improve the security of Survey Junkie and its members, we are introducing a new process of verification which is Photo ID verification, which will be a one time verification tool for our panelists. As a quality and verification measurement tool -this might be required at any point of the membership, in order to additionally:
a) verify the account ( regardless of previous verification statuses)
b) to exclude the chance of the account being compromised
c) monitor the quality of provided information (honest and accurate information about themselves and all survey questions to the best of their ability)
This method is used extensively in the market research industry for security and quality purposes. Again, we would like to emphasize that this is a one time verification check that members will not have to repeat over the lifetime of their account. I have been a loyal member of Survey Junkie since 2023, my account is verified, and I enjoy being a panelist; however, lately I am not qualifying for many surveys and am often told "we're seeing double" to indicate Survey Junkie thinks I have already completed the survey. Occasionally I am told to "answer questions honestly" as if to imply I am not being honest. I am receiving errors and minimum points.Today I completed a long survey on dog food and, not only did my points not credit, I was told there was a problem with my account. Additionally, I am unable to redeem any of my reward options.I can only guess that my account has been suspended via a glitch. I've completed numerous surveys over the past 3-6 months and have not been compensated as advertised for the particular surveys. I've spents numerous hours completing surveys only to be told that I didn't qualify or the surveys closes as I was completing them. I am due over 1000 Survey Junkie points and I want them. My time is not free and what Survey junkie is doing amounts to false advertising and fraud. Survey junkie also needs to find a way to stop persons from continuing in a Survey that has become filled.Business Response

Survey Junkie periodically offers a bonus wherein you have to complete 3 -20 point surveys for 7 days within a certain time frame to get 500 bonus points. On average you have to start ***** surveys in order to complete one. I have achieved this bonus several times in the past but lately they have started what I believe is scamming. Several days within the time frame for getting 500 bonus points I will, after several hours of trying, finish 2 of the 3 needed and then get messages the rest of the day that no surveys are available. Today I finished my second one around 4:30 pm and was never able to get the 3rd one because I kept getting messages that there were no surveys available. Now they will claim they have no control over this. Well they need to find out who does and fire them. This BS is too coincidental to not be rigged by someone to keep me from getting the bonus points. I want my 3rd one credited for today or I intend to cause Survey Junkie to get MASSIVE amounts of negative publicity. I have a friend who is an investigative reporter at local ABC affiliate and he is gnawing at the bits to get on it.Business Response

The statement that I had no shortage of surveys is false. On August 11th I completed 2 of the 3 surveys needed to get credit for bonus at approximately 8:30 pm. I tried all the way to midnight to get the 3rd but was continually told no surveys were available. Amazingly just after midnight, when it was too late to get the 3rd, literally dozens of surveys popped up. This is not the first time this happened. Coincidence, I think not.

I spent several days doing surveys through this company, earning a measly and sadly, much needed reward of $10. That being said, our records indicate that the member has successfully redeemed $10 on 08-06-2024 at 08:23:20 pm. The member decided to redeem their Survey Junkie points via an e-Visa card. The ********************** (VRC), which issues the e-Visa card, sent the member an email with a link to the e-Visa card. The member clicked on the link and thus claimed the e-Visa card on 08/06/2024 08:24 PM. Since they have already claimed the e-Visa card therefore, we recommend that they contact the ********************** (VRC), as the e-Visa card is serviced by them. Survey Junkie is not responsible for servicing the e-Visa card. We simply like to remind the member that they need to follow all the required steps on the website they were redirected to after they clicked on the link to activate the the e-Visa card, and to create an account on cardholder.virtualrewardcenter.com to access their e-Visa card.Initial Complaint

I have used survey junkie for a couple of years. Until recently there had not been an issue getting money from surveys taken. Now they are requiring my id, but when I go to the page that I am assuming would allow me to take the picture it is just a blank white page that doesn't work. I can't find anyway to contact them about this issue. I am only owed about $6.00, but if I cannot access the money owed I will be ending my usage of their website.Business Response
