The Survey Junkie company is filed with thieves. I have been a member of this company redeeming points on a regular basis. the past few times they have been harassing and hassling me when it comes to point redemption. On 10/26/2023 I made an attempt to withdraw $6.51 owed to me and they have blocked me from withdrawing the money. They have not given me any explanation. I have tried calling the company, sending help tickets and I am being told that there are no points in my account when I know as a fact there is.Business Response

I have been a member of Survey Junkie for 2 years. I have wasted countless hours filling out surveys for pennies, but I need this extra money as I'm on disability. I currently am owed ***** from them and can't redeem what I'm owed. I've reached out numerous times through email to no avail. There is no customer service number to speak to an actual person. I just want what I am ***********Business Response

We require a W9 form from our members when they approach $600 in a calendar year. We are required by the *** to report members that reach this amount of earning on our site, it is not an arbitrary rule determined by us. That being said, the member has since provided the required W9 form and they have subsequently been able to continue taking surveys and redeeming their points.Initial Complaint

I'll be brief since this same complaint has been filed by numerous people. I take a survey. The survey finishes. It finishes because the survey said as much. The page then redirects back to Survey Junkie where it says "survey full". You get nothing for your time. This happens frequently and mostly with lengthy, more costly, surveys. Only, you are giving them, or they are stealing them, for free. Survey Junkie blames this on the survey providers and provide a very detailed explanation form letter regarding how this happens with survey taking. You can see this same form letter on this BBB site throughout the complaints. In my opinion they are committing fraud by agreeing to pay you for the survey and then not doing so. If you complain to them, they will "reward" you with 2 points. That's 2 cents for 30 minutes or more of work. That wasn't the agreement. This just doesn't happen occasionally, it has happened to me 3 times in less than a week on very lengthy surveys. I don't want just an apology, I want them to stop lying to people. They are literally stealing from the poor.Business Response

Survey Junkie is a safe and secure website, trusted by millions of members who take surveys and redeem on a daily basis. That being said, please note that though it can be disappointing, getting disqualified or terminated from surveys is a common occurrence and a part of survey taking. It is possible that during the survey, as the survey providers were gathering information, they determined the member was not the kind of participant they were looking for, so they terminated the survey. This can happen at any point in a survey, regardless of how much is completed. Please note that Survey Junkie has no say in members getting disqualified or terminated from a survey and it is up to the sole discretion of the survey providers. However, to reward members for their time and effort we award 2 or 3 points for every disqualification. That being said, third party survey providers do not receive the information a member provides on a survey, if the survey is terminated, meaning a members answers are only saved if they successfully complete the whole survey and receive full points.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:This may very well be a part of survey taking to some extent but it is how you, the company responds to it Other companies review the situation and reward you FULL credit for the survey you took. This is what makes you, Survey Junkie, less than others.
In addition, since this happens with your company seemingly only on longer surveys where you would have to pay out the most, and it always happens at the end of the survey after its completed, this seems intentional and much like a deceptive business practice where you steel surveys from customers and then try to satisfy ** with a few pennies. Well, I'm not satisfied.
I am no longer taking any more surveys over a certain length as a result of this and I wonder what the companies that you, Survey Junkie work for, would think about your rather questionable practices and essentially costing them valid survey results.
Sincerely,
*************************Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The problem here is not the disqualification or the survey being filled up "at some point" in the survey, the problem is I fully complete the survey, i.e. answer all the questions and then instead of being credited for the work completed, you get a message like "thank you for your participation" or "survey full". This means that a company can just say this and get a fully completed survey for free. This is at minimum dishonest, and possibly even fraudulent. If we fully complete the survey then we should get paid "in full" not 2 or 3 cents.Sincerely,

Upon attempting to cash out over ***** points accrued for surveys having been taken over the last week I was notified that my account needed review. I was surprised at this as my account has already undergone ID verification with **** completed and uploaded. Upon contacting support I received an email stating that my account had been permanently disabled with no explanation as to why. My account has been in good standing for a year without prior issue or complaints and in fact I am still getting email invitations from surveyors inviting me to do panels and focus groups. They have not responded to my email reply asking merely for clarification and my points remain frozen without explanation.Business Response

The member's account was marked for potentially fraudulent and/or unauthorized activities based on quality control measures that the Survey Junkie system has in place. However, as an exception, the member was given a last chance to recover their account and continue benefiting from our services and they have since been able to continue taking surveys and redeeming their points. We would like to recommend them to be consistent with their answers, take more time to give quality answers and provide detailed and thorough responses.
We advise to follow the above given recommendations, as well as note that repeated offenses may result in additional flags which may put their account at risk of permanent suspension.Customer Answer

Survey Junkie refuses to pay money owed which at this time is $25.01 claiming that they have a new verification process you have to go through in order to get paid. However they paid me the first time through paypal promply and without incident. If they are now requiring a tedious verification process they should have said so in the beginning. Now it just looks like they are trying to get out of paying their customers for work they have completed. I want to get paid for the work I completed. I have kept all of the emails between them and myself if you need more information.Business Response

In order to improve the security of Survey Junkie and its members, we are introducing a new process of verification which is Photo ID verification, which will be a one-time verification tool for our panelists. As a quality and verification measurement tool this might be required at any point of the membership, in order to additionally:
a) verify the account (regardless of previous verification statuses)
b) to exclude the chance of the account being compromised
c) monitor the quality of provided information (honest and accurate information about themselves and all survey questions to the best of their ability)
This method is used extensively in the market research industry for security and quality purposes. Again, we would like to emphasize that this is a one-time verification check that users will not have to repeat over the lifetime of their account. However, as an exception, since the member was having difficulties passing Photo ID verification, we have tried calling them in order to complete account verification via phone call, and have since verified their account and the member has already redeemed their full points.Initial Complaint

I have been taken surveys on this site for years, and never had any problem when I needed to cash out since my Paypal account is verified.Reading all of these complaints about SurveyJunkie's new cash-out policy, I realize that I am just another VICTIM LIKE ALL OTHER MEMBERS. I have written to them telling that I don't feel comfortable and safe to take a picture of my ID to send in. Their answer is the same as they did here, which happened without any notification. To me this is a violation of personal rights, and a criminal act.If they want to "SWALLOW" the money that their members spent days and nights working for it, then they should have sent out an email to notify the members, and allow members a chance to decide whether or not to stay on their site.I worked hard to get to the point of cash out, but they have decided to STEAL IT and think it is a right thing to do. With a business like this, and with so many complaints from their own members, this website has become a "*****".Business Response

Please note that the members account is in good standing and they have been able to continue taking surveys and have since redeemed their points. Please also note that if we reset the phone number linked to your account, they will be required to pass through the entire verification process once again before redeeming their points. Kindly be informed that updating their phone number is unnecessary since their account has already been verified and phone number is no longer needed for taking surveys or for redeeming. I have been using Survey Junkie for about a month. Cashed out the first time at $5 just to see if it worked. Then spent numerous hours doing every survery offered and built my points. Done a very long survey on 10/02/2023 . Took 2 and a half hours, was paid $15 of which did not add to my total points. Instead went into folder that said "pending verification". And states that it could take up to 30 days. Unacceptable. I completed that survey just as I have all the others that pay out points immediately with no problem. That is my money. So in meantime, I have points built up to $16.60. Tried cashing that out numerous numerous times. Now stated it needs verification. It will take you to the screen but WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SCAN YOUR ** FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES. They have done something to the screen which makes it impossible to scan the ** and get past that point. Feel they done this to keep people from cashing out. I have sent numerous emails just to get the response back only twice and from the same lady that gives the directions for verifying your identity. When I state to them OVER AND OVER THE SAME THING.....THAT IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO SCAM MY ** TO GET VERIFIED. THEY OWE ME $31.60. And I'd like my money that I EARNED.Business Response
