I made a one-time order over a year ago. I was signed up for a free trial without my knowledge. I didn't receive any emails with renewal notices or billing statements. I was charged $20 a month for the past year despite never needing a membership, never knowing I had a membership, and never once using the site in that time. With the way the charges are deeply buried it seems intentional, unlike other sites that at least notify you when you are going to be charged!Stamps.com

Hi *******,
Thank you for your feedback and we can see why that would be upsetting. We apologize for any misunderstanding. We hear your concerns and we fully disclose our fees before any account can be created. We don't advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a $19.99 monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 8/11/23. Rest assured that we have refunded $271.57 to you today.
The fee we charge gives you access to services of the *********** and the license to print official U.S. postage. Its a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print. Stamps.com is a vendor licensed by the ***** and all paid postage goes directly to the ***********. In order to offer our standard service, we do charge a monthly subscription fee, as stated in our Terms of Service: www.stamps.com/conditions
We never charge people without their full agreement during our online registration process. *********** fee is not based on usage or activity. The monthly subscription service fee that Stamps.com charges is for access of the Stamps.com software, which allows customers to print postage from the comfort of their home or small office using just a PC and a printer. *********** is a monthly subscription service so its not based on usage of the software, but rather on having access to using it.
We believe in full disclosure, and information about our fees is available on our website, interface, Terms, and FAQs.
If we can help you any further, please let us know.
Sincerely,
The Customer Support Team

DO NOT USE STAMPS.COM I spent 3 days attempting to print 333 Certified Mail labels with Electronic Return Receipt. After 4 calls of 45 minutes to 3 hours each, a top tier tech spent several hours through remote access printing the majority of the labels because the software and website kept getting STUCK on the loading screen.I mailed the 333 letters. The client we mailed for called to find out when he can expect the emailed receipts. Stamps.com says there was an error with the software but it was ****** fault and that I need to file a dispute with ***** I PAID $2400 TO STAMPS.COM FOR ELECTRONIC RETURN RECEIPT and they DID NOT FULFILL their obligation to the PAID services.I have been on the phone for 3 days now, for a total of 16 hours speaking with 3 supervisors and none of them are correcting the issue or offering the refund of the electronic receipt fee of $2.32 X 333 letters. I come back from lunch prepared to export the 333 addresses and tracking numbers to then input them into the *****com tracking window so that I can then add the client's email....and STAMPS.COM has closed my account. AGAIN, I am on the phone the STAMPS>COM help desk and they "don't know why the account was closed." I can't access any of the addresses/tracking labels we PAID for. DO NOT USE STAMPS.COMStamps.com

I closed by account 2 years ago, before trial ended. Received closed notification email. Not charged any fees once month. Two years later, someone supposedly reopened my account through their fraud department. Made hundreds of charges to my card that was originally attached to the account. **************** told me the charges were legit and did not want to close the account. Then told me they closed the account, but did not. The second time I contacted them about the fraud charges, they told me they would close the account but could not provide me with documentation that they closed the account. Was told all I had to do was dispute the charges with my bank and they would reimburse my charges.Stamps.com

Hi Georgia,
Thank you for your message and to clarify, we do not show that the account was opened by our security team. Since we do sincerely appreciate customer concerns about fraud and realize that this is a worrisome situation, we can provide you with some steps necessary to address this issue. For cases such as these, we recommend that you notify your bank as soon as possible. Financial institutions have standard policies and procedures set in place to help their customers with these issues. Refunds are handled by the bank or financial institution. We strongly recommend that customers who use the same username and password across multiple sites change their password on all of sites, not just Stamps.com. We apologize for the experience.
Sincerely,

I ordered a thermal printer and scale kit and additional labels. The printer came but its an old fashioned Ethernet connection that isnt compatible with my MacBook Pro. The printer is also not Bluetooth compatible. When I called customer service to get a return the representative went off-line three minutes at a time three separate times each time coming back and asking me if I had tried various solutions to the not fitting cord issue. They absolutely know this printer wont work and they will make you beg to send it back to them. They did NOT offer a refund or a cancellation for my service that I cannot use with them. When I have more time and the printer is returned I will cancel this service which also does not connect to my website. I expect another half hour long long with a rep who doesnt have the authorization to do refunds. BUYER BEWAREStamps.com

This interface and off-shored customer support are both completely useless. Its 100% terrible. They market how much time they save you, but God help you if you need support. The interface is full of bugs and barely works. If you misprint a label, and request a refund for something botched, plan on waiting months for the refund, and if you call support, plan on a 45 minute wait time, and explaining the issue 7-8 times with someone who has difficulty understanding English.Stamps.com

Hi ***, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience. We do have a wide variety of customers - over a million customers-who enjoy the experience of not having to rely on expensive postage meters and who require more functionality and features than what other PC ******* services currently offer. Our Free Tech Line is available 6AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday at ************ to address any printing or technical issues our customers may be having. Please let us know what feature in our interface you had specific issues with. Wed be happy to address any concerns or issues you encountered. We do offer a reprint feature in which you can print your label at no extra cost. Rest assured that refund requests do not take months to be processed. The way you submit the request determines the timeline for refund processing: Electronic Refunds: You must submit e-refund requests for shipping labels within 28 days of the print date. Once approved, the system refunds postage to your account within 21 days. Mail-In Refunds: Once approved, Stamps.com sends you an email notification and deposits the refund into your account. Refund requests are generally processed within 12 weeks of receipt of a claim. Again we apologize for the inconvenience and negative experience.

Wish I checked here first - it is a scam that borderline stays on the legal side. The membership fee is super hidden you'll be hit with $20/month after a trial. I've never in my life missed a membership fee with any other site (over 100) that I've used...because I've never used one that HIDES it so deep in the small print. No email notifying you that your trial expires. No email notifying you of upcoming charges. No email (or even online receipt) that tells you about being charged.Very very slow customer service response.Operating in such misleading (if legal) ways should be illegal and is at the very least a shameful excuse for a product.Stamps.com

Shady business practices. Apparently I was signed up for a trial - though I truly don't remember doing that last July. Stamps.com *never* sent an email to me. I keep everything, and the only email I have from them is the one they sent when I cancelled. So monthly charges for nearly a year. I have multiple accounts, and I regrettably didn't see their recurring charge among everything else. But a reputable business will let you know before charging your account, and they will communicate with you about your subscription. These guys fly under the radar and undoubtedly collect millions off of unsuspecting customers.Stamps.com
