I have had a membership to Beachbody on Demand for the past few years being charged $99 for my autorenewal each year. To my surprise this year, I was charged almost double that amount. I did not discover this until I went to pay my credit card. I immediately contacted Beachbody, and I was told that I was past the 30 day money back guarantee, and their decision was final. They claim that I saw an email notifying me of the rate change and I did not cancel. BUT - their email was misleading and appeared to be nothing more than junk mail (like the other 47 messages they sent). The tagline read "Your membership is getting an upgrade". It did not mention anything about increased pricing. You had to click a link to find that out. I did not click the link ever. I likely just scrolled by the email while going through my email. I don't agree with "gotcha" business practice of being able to "autorenew" something that is a completely different product. They, themselves, have stated that Beachbody on Demand no longer exists. So, how does this qualify as an autorenewal? I would love to have settled this directly with them, but I received a generic email when I filed an appeal. And they stated their "decision was final" and I had no further recourse. So they will not allow me to speak to anyone. I tried. This is not acceptable, and I've talked to multiple other people who only didn't get "taken" because their credit card on file was out of date. They are making money in a very dishonest way and refusing to look at individual customer cases. Terrible business practice.Business Response

last year in December of 2022 after seeing a charge of 126 on my credit card account i called and requested that the account be canceled and taken off renewal. i was informed that i was not able to get a refund at that time but no further charges would be made. Then i saw again that my account was charged 126 on my credit card account. I contacted **********************, and they again informed me unable to get a refund. Also, that the previous employee had not noted or do anything to the account. There for no proof of a call or cancelation. This an unauthorized charge to my account and i have not accessed this account in years and i want to be refunded. their customer service refused to shut down the account without filling out a form that gives up my rights under the law for a refund. They also wanted me to fill out another form of compliant that also gives up my rights to a refund by them making the final decision. I requested the account login be shut down for future access and was told they couldn't do it. they could send me a way to access and change the password though. therefore, if i used that link, they could use as proof of me using the account and the account charged as justification for that charge. Its all a sham and the customer has no true recourse to get their funds back. If you fill out their forms you give up your rights under the law and leave the decisions in their hands which will be in decided in their favor. Someone needs to look into the business practices of this type of company. I am sure i am not the only person getting treated like this. I spent hours on their chat today with no outcome other then fill out our forms and we will get back with you in 5 days. Filling out their form gives the customers right to a refund or our options under the law.Business Response

I signed up for Beachbody on Demand 6/2022 and it was $59 per 6 months. It has now increased to $119 (plus tax) per 6 months in which I had zero knowledge of. I have been charged this 2 times - and since I didnt realize the first charge, accepted that I couldnt dispute it but the charge which happened 12/10, I tried to cancel (they can clearly see I havent used their services) and they will not refund the amount. They are stating an email went out alerting me of the increase, however, I have searched all my email boxes and see nothing titled upgrading your membership in which they stated went out 35 days before the price change. I would not have continued with the service for double the amount I agreed to pay initially. They stated that my original membership was automatically replaced with a new, higher tiered membership but I never had to approve the change. Since it isnt a lateral change, one would assume, a paying customer should have to agree to an increased tier with double the subscription cost. I would like my funds refunded, account cancelled, and I dont think they should be allowed to withdrawal anything over a certain percentage of the agreed upon amount. I understand cost of services increase from time to time but double? Thats excessive. And then to state a refund cannot be made and claim an email went out which did NOT (atleast not under the beachbody name) is a bad way to do business. They clearly do not stand behind their platform as its 100% not worth $119/6 months and they clearly know it. I do not do business with unethical companies.Business Response

I was charged $179 on August 15th by BeachBody/Bodi without my permission. I originally had a plan with OpenFit for $96/year. Openfit was bought out by Beachbody. BeachBody/Bodi, whatever they are calling themselves, nearly doubled the amount of the charge and charged it to my credit card on file. No communication was sent to gain my permission to charge this amount. When this amount was charged, I was in the hospital with my 2 1/2 yr old son who had been diagnosed with cancer on 8/8/23. We remained in the hospital for 3 1/2 months. When he got out of the hospital, I was reconciling my accounts and noticed the charge. I contacted the company, explained the situation and was refused a refund. No consideration given to my situation or the fact that my entire life had been overturned by a cancer diagnosis. This company is insensitive and has no integrity and is burgeoning on fraudulent. Changing the name so many times is shady, but changing the amount by that much is just plain wrong and should not be happening. After reading the numerous reviews, clearly this is a common occurrence for this company and it needs to be rectified.Business Response

Apparently I had two accounts. On black Friday they had a sale and we purchased an annual membership for close to $200. Today I found out I was charged another almost $100 for a three month memebership on the second account. Despite explaining this to them they REFUSE to refund me the extra charge due to their 30 day trial policy. Even though *** explained *** already spent $200 on an annual membership.Business Response

For years I've had the same account to my ********************** on demand account and they kept raising the price but I kept it because I enjoyed it. All of a sudden they are now trying to charge me almost double to have access to the same content because they upgraded their website to show more content. The state that my current plan is no longer available and now its double. If i didn't cancel they were going to automatically charge my credit card. That is not what I signed up for. I signed up for the videos on demand. Not the meal plans or live workouts. Only the videos on demand. I'm very disappointedBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because: the content that I am requesting access to is still available on the website, it wasn't removed. They started adding additional content in March of 2023, which I have never used, because at that time:
1. It was locked behind and additional paywall
2. It wasn't something that I was interested in
The only thing that I wanted continued access of was:
100+ fitness programs for every level, ranging from boot camp to cardio, yoga to pilates, and so much more! This is the content that I haven't used and don't want access to.
Access to two proven Eating Plans: Portion Fix Basics and 2B Mindset Basics
Access to over a thousand delicious recipes with new recipes added every month
New live and on-demand workouts
A personal support system that motivates and inspires
Your membership also allows you to stream across multiple supported devices
Furthermore I no longer have access to the programs and that I purchased early access to so I would like a refund of those charges.Sincerely,
