Travel/Vacation/Timeshare - Eastern Rentals & Transportation

On October 21, 2024, I prepaid, via Venmo, cash $1,035.00 to Mitch Kloter. This was for a driving service he was going to provide for myself and 5 other people. • Pick up: 6 people, with luggage, from Tolland CT at 2:00 am on 1/25/2025 to JFK airport. • Return: Pick up from JFK Airport at 5:00 pm on 2/1/2025, 6 people, with luggage to Tolland CT • Vehicle: Limousine On the evening of 1/24/2025 I received a phone call from Mr. Kloter about 10:00 pm. I returned his call at 1:00 am 1/25/2025. He informed me the limousine was unavailable due to an accident. He arranged for another driver, but the vehicle provided was a small SUV that could only accommodate 3 adults with luggage. Consequently, the remaining 3 adults had to drive themselves to JFK. Mr. Kloter verbally told us over the phone he would reimburse parking for the adults that had to drive, along with the amount he charged for the service. During our vacation, Mr. Kloter repeatedly assured me that the return trip was “all set.” On 2/1/2025 we landed at JFK airport. I called Mr. Kloter to let him know that we had landed. He previously told me that he circles the airport waiting for a call so he will be there within a few minutes to pick us up. However, when I called, he told me that he had to send another driver for the 4 of us and that driver was coming from the Boston Airport. I called the new driver, and he told me he would be there in an hour for pickup. When he did arrive, an hour plus later, the car he provided did not fit 4 adults with our luggage. The other 2 adults drove home since they had to drive to JFK to begin with. The live in the state of MA. We stood outside of JFK airport trying to get our luggage and 4 adults into this vehicle for over 30 minutes. Another service saw us struggling and came over to try and help. This service had a van. We agreed that we were not going to separate, again, for the ride home. Ultimately, we hired this other service to drive us back to CT for $600.00. For Mr. Kloters’ service, we split the bill 3 ways. Per couple, we paid $345.00 for transportation to and from JFK and Tolland for 6 people. What we received is transportation for 3 people, in a smaller SUV, one way, to JFK airport. For months now, we have had several text messages and phone calls between myself, my husband and Mr. Kloter that the “reimbursement checks were in the mail,” he was going to “meet us to give us our money back,” he was going to “send one of his drivers to drop off the money” and that he “apologizes that he is extremely busy.” What we want refunded: Additional Limo charge $160.00 Service for 6 adults (only 3 were transported one way) $438.50 Parking reimbursement at JFK $560.00 Total = $1,158.50 refund requested Breakdown: $350.00 per couple round trip $175.00 per person round trip $87.50 per trip, per person As gesture of goodwill, at this point, we are not requesting reimbursement for the additional $600.00 spent on alternative transportation form JFK to CT, despite being stranded in New York.

I hired Mitch Kloter to drive my kids and myself from CT to the manhattan New York cruise ports for our Carnival Cruise Vacation in August. I spoke with Mitch on the phone on May 9 2025 and paid him $595 through Cash app for his transportation service. There was little to no communication up until the date of our vacation. Within a week of our vacation I found out through social media Mitch was either not showing up to transport client nor picking them up upon return from destinations leaving them stranded scrambling to find means of transportation. I finally made contact with Mitch 3 days prior to our vacation and said I want to cancel his service because I can’t depend or have confidence in him and needed to find other means of transportation. Mitch said he would give me a full refund of the $595. Since my last contact with him in August there have been several text through Facebook Messenger giving me the run around stating he would refund me the money with still no refund.

Travel/Vacation/Timeshare - Mitch Kloter

After seeing advertisements and good reviews for Mitch Kloter on the Enfield, CT forum I called to get an estimate for a ride to and from New York City. I asked about his cancellation policy and was told he would provide a full refund if I needed to cancel. When I needed to change the trip from two separate days to coming and going on the same day he told me the cost would go up. At that point I had a bad feeling and decided to cancel the trip giving him more than two months notice. He stated that he would send me a full refund. After months of getting the runaround, I went to the police and got a partial refund with a promise to give me the final amount within two weeks. I have not received the final amount owed to me. After seeing what happened to others I realize that if I hadn't canceled I would have been left waiting for a car that never showed up and been scrambling for transportation. He has also scammed drivers by hiring them, getting the money from the customer and then never paying the drivers. He is mostly advertising on local forums in CT and MA.

I would like to file a complaint regarding a transportation service run by Mitch Kloter (sometimes referred to as Eastern Rentals & Transportation). My family hired his company for roundtrip service to JFK Airport. I paid $300 via Venmo, and was later pressured to pay an additional $300 in cash. On our return, his driver did not show up and told us to “take a taxi or Uber.” We were left stranded at JFK after a long flight and had to pay $470 for a last-minute rental car. I gave Mitch four days to make this right, and while he admitted he owed me money, he never refunded me. Venmo ultimately ruled in my favor and refunded the $300. Please be cautious when using his services.

I contacted Mitch Kloter after he posted about limo services to airports as I needed to take a work trip. I requested a round trip to Logan Airport. Mitch quoted me $425 and asked for Venmo. I initially entered the wrong travel dates so when I had to leave he said he didn’t have a driver for the first keg but he would pick me up on the back end and reimburse me for half the trip. When I was at the airport coming home he said a different driver was coming to get me and I needed to pay him. He said he would send me a check for the full amount. This was 2 months ago and I am still waiting. He gas said we would meet, that a check is in the mail, but has ghosted me for the last two weeks.

Travel/Vacation/Timeshare - Mitch Kloter/ Eastern Rentals

Mitch Kloter advertised his Car Transportation Services on Facebook on an Ellington Friends Facebook group. Under his transportation advertisement post, it was accompanied by numerous posts by local residents giving him great reviews. On February 12, 2025, we booked Mitch Kloter for airport transportation to Logan Airport in Boston MA for an upcoming November trip. He requested the $300.00 fee be paid in full via Venmo. We paid the full fee of $300.00 and then asked Mitch for a receipt showing we paid in full for his service. After numerous texts requesting a receipt, we finally received one from Mitch via a text. The receipt came through with the company name of Eastern Rentals which does not exist. Even though it took numerous texts to get the receipt we were happy to receive one showing proof we paid. Fast forward to June 2025. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our November trip and immediately texted Mitch letting him know we wouldn't need his service and would like a refund. After several attempts from both my husband and myself, Mitch finally responded claiming he hadn't received any texts indicating our cancellation request. It is now August 20, 2025, we are still waiting for our refund. We continue to text daily/ weekly requesting a refund but many of our texts go unanswered. Mitch occasionally responds but so far no money and just a boat load of excuses as to why he can't refund our $300.00 right now and that he is working on it. I am writing this alert because I have seen multiple posts from multiple towns regarding Mitch Kloter. My friends and family have also fallen victim to his scam. We are all out hundreds of dollars! There are enough posts about him that something should be done to stop him from taking people's hard-earned money! Be warned, DO NOT hire him!

Bartered for a ride to Logan airport. Paid a large dinner tab as an agreement for over $250 for a family trip leaving from Logan airport. He has since gone silent. Trip is in October and due to his constant scamming we realize it’s a total loss. Frustrating in this economy to see he’s just taking money from innocent people and refusing to follow through.

Other - Mitch Kloter, driving service

After a recommendation from a relative I reached out to Mitch to schedule 3 trips total back & forth from my home to Logan Airport in Boston for a trip. Mitch was great on the phone & his pricing was reasonable. This was scheduled in Jan 2025 for the trip in June 2025. I reached out in April to give Mitch specific information regarding our flights &’pick up times. The day before we were to be picked up at our home in June , Mitch called & started his car had a flat tire & if it couldn’t be fixed in time he would send another driver. He did in fact send another driver ( who did not even know who Mitch was). We did get to our destination safely. Ten days later my adult son returned to Logannairport expecting to be picked up by Mitch & he was not. After 2 hrs of texting back & forth & Mitch “trying “ to get him a ride home, Kevin had to call Lyft & pay $268 for the drive( which was included in the initial cost of $440). Mitch told Kevin he would reimburse him which to date he has not. ( that was 6/28/25 and today is 7/31/25) On 7/9 my husband & I were scheduled to be picked up at Logan airport by Mitch & at the last min he sent someone else. This drive was not covered & I had to pay an additional$300 to this driver. While in the car I spoke with Mitch who assured me he would reimburse me the $440. Again , to date he has not reimbursed me & I don’t believe he has any intention of doing so. I have repeatedly sent texts & either do not get an answer or I get some half hearted excuse ie “processing issues” which I now believe to be a scam. Please do not use Mitch Kloter. He is not to be trusted & will scam you.

Online Purchase - Eastern Rentals & Transportation

Mitch Kloter has been advertising his licensed & insured private transportation services across various Facebook groups. There are also several people across the posts who recommended/endorsed him. I reached out to Mitch on May 30th and requested a quote for an upcoming trip I had with my family, for a ride from Southington to JFK on 6/20/2025, and JFK to Southington on 6/29/2025, for 5 people all with large luggage. He guaranteed in a written message he had a Ford Transit (11-passenger van), we spoke on the phone, he sent me an invoice via InvoiceFly for $625 (which included his business name header “Eastern Rentals & Transportation”), and asked for payment up front through Venmo. On June 5th I Venmo'd him half ($313) and asked if I could pay the other half after he completed the first trip scheduled for June 20th. A week passed and he finally responded back, stating he needed the full payment up front. In fear he wasn’t going to pick us up for our family vacation, I Venmo'd him the other half on June 13th ($312). The morning of June 20th, he texted 20 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time (3:40 AM), that he has vehicle issues and would send a “backup driver”. A woman showed up in a Subaru SUV, and I immediately reached out to tell him we were not able to fit. He responded “it’s an 8-passenger car, everything should fit. A seat may need to be folded down”. My dad struggled to puzzle piece all the large luggage to fit, and my brother had to squish in the back with suitcases literally pressed against his face. On the ride to JFK, I texted him that we were extremely disappointed, we had specifically booked with him because he guaranteed the 11-passenger van, and he said he can work with a slight refund for the inconvenience (side note – I received several other quotes that were cheaper, but we went with Mitch so we would have a comfortable amount of space). However, we’re understanding and know vehicle issues can arise at any time, so I didn’t push the issue any further. When we arrived to JFK, the woman who drove us said it would be $200 for the ride. I told her that I already paid Mitch on Venmo, she seemed super confused but we tipped her and went along our way. By the time we landed at our destination, I received several texts from the woman who drove us (and her boss) asking for the $200 and that Mitch has not been responsive, blocked them, and explained they had no idea who Mitch was. They informed me, he had hired their company the night before claiming that it was a ride for “his own family vacation”. We both came to the realization, he hired them as a third-party company claiming they were “his backup drivers” and up-charged my family. Same day June 20th, I reached out to Mitch and cancelled our second trip coming home for June 29th, as well as reiterated the partial refund for not providing the large van as guaranteed. Mitch responded that, that is not how his refund policy works. I referred to the invoice he sent, that states at the bottom "fully refundable if traveler cancels within 72 hours of the pickup time". I screenshot and point out to him that I provided well over 72 hours in advance of our second trip scheduled for June 29th. Since June 20th, I have reached out to him almost every single day. At first he claimed he tried to Venmo me and his account was locked, followed by several other excuses. On July 9th I sent a text to Mitch stating – “Hi Mitch. If I do not receive my full refund by the end of the week, via Apple Pay or Venmo, I will be filing a policy report as well as a report to the Department of Consumer Protection.” He responded that he would meet up to give me cash. I responded – “it’s Venmo or Apple Pay. That is how I sent the money and that is how it needs to be refunded.” He insisted it needs to be cash (*my first thought was that he was going to give counterfeit money, however, that’s only an assumption). Today is now July 27th and I still have not received a refund nor has he agreed to meet me at the police station for the cash exchange. I have since researched his “business”. Nor him or his business name is licensed with the state of CT, and as I stated earlier, he is advertising across many Facebook groups in CT and MA that he is licensed and Insured.

Mitch was hired for transportation services to the airport. He called me over the phone and was very professional. He even called me the morning of the services to let me know someone was on the way. When I called the driver, he was going to he delayed an hour after pickup time. When dealing with flights, this was not something we were going to risk. He scammed me $825.

I saw advertisements for transportation services on Enfield, CT forum. It had good reviews, so I called the number and talked to Mitch Kloter. He sounded real and sincere. I paid him $425 through Venmo. A few days before my planned trip to Boston Logan Airport I tried to contact him and after a few days I did not get a response. Finally a few hours before I needed to leave with my family of 6 to Boston Logan airport, he contacted me and said he didn't have a van to bring us and so I paid for an Uber $$149.53 to bring us on top of that $425. On the way home same thing no response for a ride home. A different driver came to get use through Mitch and the next day the transportation company sent me an invoice for $224.13 because he was not paid either. Since that time, I talked to him because my son was going to send reviews through the internet on the forums Mitch is on and Mitch told me he had problems with his account and promised me he would get back to me which again he doesn't respond to me. I have referred him to another person, who already paid him through Venmo she wants to cancel his services, and he does not respond to her. I think he uses Venmo because it is almost impossible to get your money back, I have tried. I just saw a message on the Enfield forum that Mitch Koter was a scammer. I wish I had seen that earlier. He still has his ads on the forums I wrote about.
