I ordered a phone from **** and received it via mail. I could not get the phone to activate so I took my phone in store to see what the issue was and why i couldnt active it. I was told that my credit score was not high enough to have an account with them that I should have never received the phone, and they had no clue how I would get sent one. When I tried to return in store i was informed I had to ship it back due to it being sent in the mail, and that there would be no charge since I was not keeping the phone. So the next day I got a return label and sent the phone back. A few months later I received a bill stating I owed them $945 that I have been trying to dispute since and multiple times I have been told it was being taken off and handled but it still continues to stay on my accounts defacing my credit. They have not i my one but two debt collection agencies hanging debt over my credit the second business is **************************** and the changed the charge price to $829 trying to lower the payment on a phone I sent back and should not be paying for and now both of the debts they added to my account have ruined my credit. When I explained the issue to one of my family members they referred me to the BBB I had no clue that you guys could help I have been trying for almost three years to have this disputed to no evail.Business Response

I am writing to file a complaint regarding the validation of a debt on my consumer credit report. I've received several calls which I've requested several times to be removed from the call list. This company calls and requests information about me without even validating who they are or what they are calling about. Despite multiple attempts to seek proof of validation, your company has failed to provide any evidence regarding a debt that does not belong to me. Furthermore, you have furnished this alleged debt on my consumer report and failed to validate the claim pursuant to Sec. 809(b) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. As a consumer, I have a right to privacy and protection from inaccurate reporting on my credit report. Your company's actions have not only violated my right to privacy but also the permissible purpose of providing accurate information to consumer reporting agencies. According to 609(a)(1)(A), you are required by federal law to verify, through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract, any and all accounts that you post on a credit report. I demand that these items be removed from my credit report immediately as it is furnishing inaccurate and incorrect information to the consumer reporting agencies. The reporting of such inaccurate information has caused severe damage to my character, reputation, general mode of living, and my ability to obtain credit for personal and house purposes. Your inaccurate reporting has also damaged my livelihood. According to 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 - Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies, furnishers have a duty to provide accurate information. A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. HIPAA Compliance and Unauthorized Disclosure: The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) indeed prohibits the disclosure of debt information to third parties without consumer consent. Additionally, under the **************** Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), my medical information should not be disclosed without my explicit authorization. The nature of the debt being medical in origin raises significant privacy concerns. Any disclosure of my medical information to third parties without my explicit consent constitutes a HIPAA violation.
Verification and Accuracy of the Debt: While I acknowledge that Americollect has requested verification documents from the creditor, I must reiterate that any inaccuracies or lack of proper documentation could significantly impact my credit standing unjustly. I urge Americollect to ensure that all information provided by the creditor is accurate, complete, and substantiated by clear, definitive evidence.
Request for Deletion: Given the sensitive nature of the medical debt and the potential violations of HIPAA, I respectfully request that Americollect take immediate action to delete this account from my credit report. This request is made not only to rectify potential breaches of my privacy but also to prevent any undue harm to my creditworthiness stemming from unverifiable or inaccurately reported debt.

Dear Americollect, Inc.,
I am writing in response to your recent communication regarding a discount offered by ******* Emergency Physicians on my outstanding balance.
It has come to my attention that Americollect, Inc. does not work directly with ******* Emergency Physicians and that the information provided in your letter is inaccurate.To verify this, I contacted ******* Emergency Physicians directly. They confirmed that they sold my account to ********************** for a fraction of its value back in 2018 and no longer have any involvement with this account. They also stated unequivocally that no communication regarding a discount was made between their office and Americollect in the last 60 days.
Given this, it is clear that the statement provided by Americollect regarding a 50% discount negotiated with **************************** is false.This misrepresentation of facts is not only misleading but also undermines the trust required for resolving this matter, i need this removed 100% before my attorney is involved, he is now aware of this lie.
In light of this, I am requesting the following actions from Americollect:
Correction of Information: Please provide accurate information regarding the status of this account and any genuine offers available for resolution.
Explanation of Miscommunication: An explanation of why false information was provided in your previous communication.
Consideration of a Fair Settlement: In light of the fact that **************************** sold the debt to Americollect at a significant discount, I request a complete deletion of account.I expect prompt action and transparency in addressing these concerns. I pulled a copy of my consumer report and noticed some items I would like to dispute. A medical debt was transferred to this company while I was making payments. This company sent me a bill to pay the debt in full. I contacted them and said I needed to make payments as I could not pay it in full. The woman on the phone said that was fine, I could send in the payment and the account would adjust for monthly payments. The following month I get another bill for the full amount due. Again, I call and now I am told they don't do monthly payments as they are a debt collector and will not bill me monthly. The woman on the phone emails me a link to use to access my account and make a payment. The following month I try the link to make a payment and the link doesn't work, I am unable to sign in and access my account. I never get another bill in the mail for the account. How am I to pay if they don't update my account and send a bill to pay. If I had an account number I would provide one, but this company apparently just wants us to blindly send them money without any account update or accountability to the account. Different information is provided every time I talk with them. I have no issues making monthly payments, but I do need a monthly statement that shows payment was received and what the new total due on the account is - just like every other bill that is paid.Business Response
