On 10/17 I started the online subscription to begin filing my divorce. To the question of how long my husband was in the country and decided I would have to come back to this question. Upon retuning to the questionnaire I discovered the processing of my order has went through when I didn't submit it. I've emailed to countless customer service **** that there was a glitch and I can't use their service with no success. I've even received emails staying my information is incomplete and the questions aren't completed. The **** say since the questions weren't completed they can't process a refund or provide divorce documents so they therefore are holding my money for but reason. Service wasn't provided and site states incomplete.Business Response

This customer utilized our service, so they are not eligible for a refund. They completed the questionnaire and submitted their answers, and our software generated their paperwork.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:No paper work was provided on Online Divorces behalf. The site crashed in the process of the questionnaire and this was reported and I reached out several different times stating I didn't finish completing the questionnaire only to be told it was complete and no refund would be issued. Also received the follow up stating the questionnaire was incomplete and no paperwork from divorce online would be given until the questionnaire was complete.

I have been tirelessly been trying to reach out through email as well as signing into my account. Trying to file divorce papers through them. Last step was to send in paperwork with a money order to file with the courts. There was an issue and they reached out to me with options. I replied and never got a response. I then attempted to contact them to return my money order that I submitted to them for the courts. Unfortunately I couldnt find my money order receipt. As of today I never received anything or even a response. That is money I cant afford to lose out on. I am now looking for assistance to get my money order back.. I can not even login to account anymore. Please helpBusiness Response

I ordered a service from onlinedivorce.com and the service I was led to believe was for it to complete all uncontested divorce forms with property and children for $199 when in fact it did not say that with children I would have to pay extra for parenting classes as well as would have to pay extra for a ********* was misleading and until I made the purchase (which I have not yet received but still am charged for) nowhere did it say it was just a service to fill forms which is a complete scam. They refuse to give me a refund online, I will be calling Monday and hope they dont push this scam even further than they already have but all consumers need to know what this service really is.Business Response
Date: 10/06/2025
As part of our divorce service, our customers have access to our self-serve software. This customer fully utilized this service by using our software to generate their forms. We do not pay court fees or notary fees. If a parenting class is required, it is the responsibility of the parties to pay for the course, complete it, and submit the necessary certificates.

Date Joined: April 21, 2025Initial Payments:$159 for the basic service$399 for the ***************** which promised form preparation within 7 daysDespite the 7-day preparation promise, forms were not available until May 17, 2025 (26 days later). On May 20, I was told it would take another 710 days to prepare and send the forms this extended timeline was never disclosed in advance.I had to follow up more than 20 times, only to be repeatedly told the issue was being "elevated" without resolution.I paid an additional $49 for expedited processing, which had zero impact on delivery speed.Forms were finally mailed on May 30, via standard USPSdespite the expedited payment.I received the forms on June 3, a full 40+ days after sign-up. After receiving my forms, I was told my spouses paperwork hadnt even been started. The company stated it would wait to complete one partys paperwork before processing the other. This policy was never disclosed. When I challenged the logic of not sending both sets of forms together, the representative claimed they didnt know if the court would accept both at once. After arguing for 20 minutes, they finally agreed to send my spouses paperwork on July 8, 2025 (nearly 80 days after initial payment). My spouse's packet was only 6 pages long, with 3 needing signatures. As of August 1, they are still claiming its "under review"a process that should take minutes. While delaying our documents, they continued to charge $39/month for account ********* is clear they intentionally prolong the process to collect additional fees.We requested that the final paperwork be sent directly to the court using our address for return, but they insist on using their own return addresslikely to intercept court mail and extend processing time. This tactic appears to be designed to cause further delay, keep control of the case timeline, and extract additional monthly fees.Business Response

I was required to pay the $189 up front, even before filling out the extensive forms 4 years ago. I never received any follow up emails or mail and the papers were never delivered. I am extremely unhappy and was told my complaint wouldn't be honored despite the funds being taken out of my checking account. I am unable to afford to pay for this again and am still stuck in in this farce of a marriage 3 years later. What am I supposed to do now?Business Response

I signed for the membership with onlinedivorce.com on 06/30/2025. I was trying to complete my forms for noncontested divorce without young children online in order to finalize it before 12/31/2025 for tax purposes. Ilive in community property state of CA, which provides all the forms, corresponding quastoneers and free help from facilitator at the Supreme Court. I was trying to file online without visiting the court. The reference to onlinedivorce.com appeared on the site related to CA divorce forms. In an attempt to file before July 1s (divorce in CA takes 6 months and 1 day minimum), I was misled (as were many other customers) with the promise to to file the form online. CA doesn't allow to file the required forms and supporting documents the petitioners themselves but only through the efiler companies. I have discovered it only next day, when visiting the court. I answered all the questions from onlinedivorce.com and immediately got the call from the customer service ******. He asked additional non relevant questions and notified me that it will take additional two business days to prepare the forms, which was too late for me. So, I aclled immediately and asked to cancel my order. He promised so and answered in the email that my request was transferred to the manager. I filed all the forms myself on 07/01/2025 before the forms were prepared by onlinedivorce.com. Never downloaded them and never was introduced to their refund policies, which state that once I answered the questions, ther erae no refunds. The name is misleading. Company doesn't belong to efilers list. So I have do download the pdf forms, print them myself, deliver them to the court manually and serve my wife with the commons. So their service had no value and requests another $399 for delivering the forms, $39.99 membership fee for another 6 months before the divorce will be finalized. Altogether it will constitute $840 for the relatively routine service that is free.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: onlinedivorce.com doesn't provide the disclaimer upfront but starts with registering the credit card and charging the fee of $199 and prompting you to the some relevant and irrelevant questions. They don't provide any legal advice for that but rather offer the questioner and CA divorce forms available for free from the site of CA Supreme Courts sites. THey also don't belong to the many online companies that are approved for electronic filing in CA. After you have paid $199 (which includes mysterious monthly membership fee of $39,99) they offer another servioce for additional $399 and monthly membership for all the period of the divorce process. In ** that takes minimum 6 months. So, the whole business is misleading and fraudulent according to the CA consumer protection laws. Also, they offered the forms the same day, what was critical to me to complete the divorce before 12/31/2025 for income tax filing purposes. After me paying $199 ****** from customer service called me and told me that it will take au two two business days to complete the forms . I requested to cancel my order immediately. He told me does understand my request and will deliver it to his superiors. I never downloaded the forms, don't know whether they are correct. I filed all lthe forms with the court personally at their site in *********. I only wasted my time with onlinedivorce.com due to their misleading name and "bait and switch tactics". Communications with ****** from customer support was not effective. They send me the refund policy which was not presented to me dring sign up. Also disclaimer is not available before you sign up. for the taht service. My complaint is repeated many times in a similar terms by other misled customers of ******************************************,com

I paid $200 on April 2 to get my divorce paperwork started. I paid $400 on April 6 for the platinum service to have Online Divorce handle all my paperwork with the courts after being filled ****** forms were Marked received by Online Divorce on May 8th. I followed up a few times after this to make sure my forms were correct and I was told the status would be updated in 7-10 days. On May 19th I was told my forms were approved and would be sent out for the next ******* is now June 2nd and the status of my case on the website still shows We are reviewing your signed initial forms and I have no clear update on the progress of my case. I have cancelled my membership with the site because I was receiving no clear updates.I just need a clear update on the progress of my divorce.Business Response

Following up with another complaint. After filing a complaint previously here, the status of my case began to start moving, there was a document that my notary wrote an incorrect date on so a page had to be corrected and resubmitted. This service confirmed receipt of the document on July 17 and let me know if would receive a response within 7 days regarding the next steps of my case. I have not heard anything back now 15 days later so I reached out about this and was told they will not let me know why I haven't received any update unless I renew my subscription with them. I will not be renewing my subscription to receive an update that should be a courtesy considering they are behind on their deadline. I have already paid for my service, I would just like this process done and submitted to the court so my divorce can be finalized.Business Response

-Once I had paid for the initial $600 for the packet, there was little to no communication reciprocated from this establishment. I repeatedly phoned an agent who never picked up nor returned my calls. I resorted to online chats which for some reason always seemed to be "offline". When I did get a response it was not clear or specific - more like a "canned answer". There was always another financial obligation to the next step to completing the process. (eg) Instructions- Be sure all pages are properly notarized. When the paperwork was examined by the Courthouse County Clerk in our County and State, she said I had incurred unnecessary ******************** including $80 in notarizations. In her opinion, and I agree with her, that I was misled into a maze of unanticipated expenses and frivolous paperwork. For instance, if there is any delay in the process to allow for corrections to the paperwork, the process is delayed and pushed into another month, they will automatically charge another month's subscription fee ($49) to my debit card which they had on file. They state, if I don't pay, I will no longer have access to my online forms and all that has been done will be lost. Sounds very much like online extortion to me. So far I have received little to nothing in the way of online support or feedback. They have no trouble returning reminders when they want more money. I have no confidence in this business's integrity or competence and I am seeking a full refund on the money they have received thus far from me. They advertise 100% moneyback guarantee. I am also seeking to recover the money wasted on the 8 notarized forms ($80). The County Clerk in my County said I would be better off to discard the Online Divorce paperwork altogether and start over from the ****************** She also graciously offered to help me through the process. I appreciate anything you can do to help correct this situation -Thank You So Much.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The Online Divorce was not satisfactory in answering very specific questions I had in regard to the "hidden costs" that seemingly kept "baiting" me along to the next step of the process. I never could get a hold of an agent by phone to ask how much more of these "hidden" costs were still involved in the process. I wanted to ask them this because the County Clerk in my county of **************** told me that I was being misdirected with the paperwork generated. It was going to lead my to even more expenses before it was over because it was going to involve the judge and having papers serviced to my husband. She informed me that because was uncontested the paperwork was excessive and involved more steps that will lead to more expenses. I would not have needed to have all these forms notarized nor is there any reason to have the papers served. Because I was not forewarned that there would be those additional (upcoming) expenses when I purchased the service to begin with, I believe that the Online Divorce service would continue to "string me along" with more "surprise expenses". Since I had already started the process, they indicated to me that if I don't keep paying in, I lose what has been done altogether. I see their business practices as a form of Online Divorce Extortion. That is why I am not satisfied with their response. They also say Money Back guarantee if not satisfied with the results- I am not happy with the service or the results based on the additional information I have received from the County Clerks office in my County and State. Thank You for your attention and time in this matter.

Very disappointed with their customer service, or lack thereof. All they wanted to do was issue a partial refund which I did not agree to, but they went ahead and did it anyway.
