I purchased Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 in May of 2015. The software has functioned well for several years. I recently deleted the software from one computer and attempted to install it on another one with Windows 10. When attempting to activate the software to be able to use it I received an error message from Microsoft that the software was already licensed under my old Microsoft account at We*****@*****ca. I attempted to access that account and it has been terminated and Microsoft cannot revive it. My notes show that I moved the license to another ******************** account on Feb 9, 2018. This Microsoft account used an old email address for recovery which I no longer have access to. This Microsoft account name is TG*****@*****et. Microsoft also refuses to give me access to that account because I no longer have access to the associated email address that I used at the time I set up the account and that email address is provided by an ISP provider and not a *@hotmail.com type of account that ******************** offers. This is the weakest excuse I have ever heard and makes no sense to me and I am somewhat of an expert in these areas. There is usually available on option to update the email address to a new one once the account information has been verified which it was as per the email. Microsoft has made no mention that I am unable to verify my true identity in any of these matters. I also asked Microsoft to reactivate the license under my current ******************** account TW*****@*****om and they refused. Microsoft had no policy to terminate accounts when they received my payment for the software. They have revised their policy to delete accounts that are not active for one year if the account is older than 2014. They do show in their policy that if there is a software purchased licence on the account that they will not terminate it but they have anyways which contradicts their own corporate policy. I paid for this software under the agreement at the time that I would be able to use it. Microsoft is reneging on the agreement even though they have received the payment for this product. This licence agreement spans three countries, the ******* ********** ***, myself in ****** and the Microsoft support group in *****. I would like either a refund for the price I paid for the product plus interest or a successful activation of the product with a promise that there will not be another future interruption of the activation. I invite them how to accomplish this task. I am not willing to accept another online solution such as Microsoft 365 which they are repeatedly demanding payment for going forward. I can only estimate the millions of customers that *** also be affected by this new unethical policy change.Business Response

On 05/03/2023, I was unable to access any of my PC games on from Game Pass. The account is clearly signed into on the Xbox program; however, when I try and play any games, I receive the "0x87DD0033" error code. When I search online for what this error code is on Microsoft's website I receive an error that "Sorry, search isn't available right now. Try again in a while." This is unacceptable. This computer is setup to be the "offline" computer. Under no circumstances should I need to be online if I have this setup. If Microsoft is still requiring the computer to be online even when I have checked the box to ensure that the games can be played offline then I will be escalating this to the Attorney General for it to be investigated as fraud. To make the matter even worse, the only way to get help can't also be reached? Are the gerbils that Microsoft use to run Azure tired or on break? This is ridiculous.Business Response

I got a Skype account approximately 9 yrs ago. I stopped using it about 4 yrs ago. Skype made it impossible to cancel my subscription & has continued to collect $2.99 from my account on a monthly basis. I have tried going to their website to cancel only to encounter the following message: "Important: If you purchased your subscription on your iPhone or iPad, you can only manage it directly from your device."I don't recall what device I purchased this subscription from, & even if I did, I no longer have the device since I've updated all of my technology since then. I have tried getting help through Skype's website under "get help", but they don't provide a way to chat with a representative & don't follow up by email. Today I Googled a phone number & found one for MicroSoft 365, which owns Skype, so called them. I was on the line for nearly an hour, & was told repeatedly that I had to cancel on the website despite explaining that their website didn't allow me that option. I demanded to speak with a supervisor, who told me to look at my bank statements for an invoice number since for some bizarre reason they were unable to do it from my account on their end. My CC statement shows the Skype charges but no invoice number, so I was walked through several pages of the Skype website, none of which were helpful led to the cancelation. I was then told to call my bank to cancel payments to Skype, which I was afraid would affect my credit score. Finally, the supervisor had me type in an address where I could chat live with a rep. named ******************************* ****. I requested a refund for the unused time, & was told,"Oh for Skype refund, we can only request refund approval from orders for the past 6months beyond that we strongly suggest disputing it to your bank." She was able to cancel & get me a refund for 6 mos. However, because Skype made it impossible for me to cancel without a huge time *********** **** not taking no for an answer, I feel that they are guilty of theft.Business Response

I started an account with ******************************************** Ads) this year. I tried to create an advertisement for through this account which was denied. On 3/30/2023, they suspended my account. I reached out through their customer service online chat. They relayed to me that they would not tell me what I did incorrectly or allow me to fix it. Microsoft said that this decision was final and that my account was permanently suspended.I can guarantee that I did not anything inappropriate or malicious. Moreover, I would have gladly fixed any issue that might have been accidentally completed.Microsoft never tried to resolve the problem. They tried to definitively end the dispute with their decision and gave me no option to fix said issue.Im asking that Microsoft put my account back into good standing, reverse their practice of not explaining what advertising account holders did incorrectly, and change their policy of not allowing participants in the ad program to fix issues with their accounts. My account: ******************** Advertising Manager account **********.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Microsofts response sent me to one Kia ******** ****** expressed that the dispute was sent to the wrong department and that their department couldnt handle the dispute. Either Microsoft didnt read the BBB complaint very closely, or they are trying to make the process difficult such that I end it. Ive attached the e-mail and screen shot of the e-mail.
As it is, Kia ** referred me to a generic link and closed out the service request. The link that was referred was the same that I used originally for clarification on my permanently suspended account with no appeal. Sending me back here to a set of customer representatives who dont understand the BBB complaint will result in the same outcome.
Microsoft needs to contact me directly with someone who understands the situation. Thus far, theyd prefer not to do that, having me go to a waiting list and dealing with a general, uninformed representative

I am rejecting this response because:The link that was provided took me to a generic customer service page. After working my way through useless links and response trees, I got to an actual (possibly virtual) agent.
The agent was ill equipped to answer any questions or get to a resolution. She said that she was blind to the information as I was. She sent me to a Bing search page with a plethora of links expecting me to find the answer in the list of pages. Their last statement was that this final without any recourse, explanation or effort for resolution.
Microsoft might want to resolve this, they just don't seem to want to put any effort into it. If one knowledgeable person would sit down with me and we could actually talk, I think this could get fixed. They need to call me with this person on the other end.
Sincerely,
