1 starAround April 24th my families entire shared REMOVEDplan all dropped down to 5GB rather than the 1TB that had been paid for (and should have remained active for another 6-7 months.)My entire families computers, phones, etc. are connected to OneDrive. So, when the service stopped, it caused massive frustration across all of our devices, etc. One of my family members uses their Hotmail address as their primary, and had to buy an additional 100GB of storage for that account so they would continue receiving/sending emails as the storage cap was artificially exceeded.I opened a support ticket on April 26th.I spent the next entire next month chatting and emailing from two of the family accounts DAILY getting sent around in a circle to keep re-providing a proof of purchase (because their system said there was no active subscription) and re-provide logs over, and over, and over again through broken systems that were not working properly. (I'm a programmer, this wasn't a me problem.)By the 15th of May, I asked for a supervisor from both accounts. The support agent simply stopped responding to me entirely. On the 16th, I received the above email where they finally acknowledged the problem was theirs and service had been restored. I still wanted to speak to a supervisor to explain my frustration with the entire process of how I was redirected between 6 different support agents that weren't talking to each other, was directed to open ticket after ticket after ticket, bounced between departments, and how their macOS "Contact Support" option from inside the app doesn't actually send the logs, etc.The agent never told me the service had been restored. Just that automated email. In my mind, that means the support tickets should still be open as I never acknowledges it was working REMOVEDis now the 20th. This is absolutely unacceptable customer service.Review fromEbonie N

1 starI have been locked out of my accounts since April 27, 2026, despite using the same passwords for an extended period of time and completing all requested recovery and verification steps through Microsofts official account recovery process.Over the past several weeks, I have submitted multiple recovery forms, attempted contact through various Microsoft support platforms. To date, I have received little to no meaningful response, update, or effort toward resolving this issue. The accounts involved contain important personal and business-related documents, files, and information that I urgently need access to. Unfortunately, both accounts are connected to one another for recovery verification purposes, which has made it impossible for me to regain access through the standard recovery system. What is most concerning is the complete absence of communication from Microsoft despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter properly. Even an acknowledgment or update regarding the status of my recovery attempts would have been appreciated. Instead, I have been left without answers for an unreasonable amount of REMOVEDthis point, I am requesting immediate escalation of this matter to a higher-level account recovery or customer relations team before the situation becomes irreversible due to the extended amount of time I have been locked out.I am fully willing to provide identification, previous passwords, account details, and any additional verification necessary to confirm ownership of the accounts directly with REMOVEDam requesting:- Immediate review of my recovery case - Direct communication from a Microsoft representative - Assistance restoring access to my accounts I have provided my direct contact information privately through the BBB complaint.I simply want access restored to accounts that belong to me and contain important information. I hope Microsoft takes this matter seriously.Thank you.Review fromerik g

1 starHave always loved my microsoft until I was hacked and have been trying for months to recover my account to no avail. I can not get anyone on the phone to help me. I only get a form online that doesnt help at all. I even have a couple monthly subscriptions but it looks like im going to have to cancel it all. This big of a company should have people on the phone to help with everything. Really disappointed.Review fromsylvia w

1 starI have a recurring charge for Microsoft 365 for REMOVED/year. I originally purchased the product for a business I sold in 2023. I don't know if the current owner is even using the PCs I made the purchase for. Every year when I see the charge I try to cancel my subscription but when I log in to my account I can't figure out how to cancel. I try to contact support but an unable to do this also.Review fromTabitha H

1 starI have been charged for a Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscription since 2023, and I have been unable to access or manage the account associated with this subscription. The billing confirmations are sent to my email address, and I have documentation showing the subscription details, including the tenant ID and billing profile. However, when I attempt to log in, the subscription does not appear under my account, and I am unable to locate or access the administrative account tied to the subscription.I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with Microsoft through their support channels, including phone support, email, and online chat. Each attempt has either resulted in being redirected back to automated systems, disconnected calls, or support loops that do not allow access to a live representative.Due to my inability to access the account or obtain assistance, I have been unable to cancel the subscription through normal means. As a result, I have contacted my bank to stop all current and future charges related to this subscription.I am requesting the following:Immediate cancellation of the Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscription associated with my billing information and tenant ID Written confirmation that the subscription has been fully canceled A review of the charges billed since 2023, given my inability to access or manage the account I have made good faith efforts to resolve this issue directly with Microsoft but have been unable to reach a resolution due to lack of access and ineffective support channels.Review fromStrobles I

1 starAround may of 2024 I was at work when my Microsoft Xbox account had been permanently suspended. There were no details as to what had caused the ban and even after going into the ban it showed that there were no details at that time. Even after filing for an appeal they didn't give me an actual reason for the ban only an automated email listing a number of reasons in which my account could have possibly been banned. Since then I've been trying to get access to the account to no avail since Xbox support is now completely automated and the only way to get the suspension overturned was to file for an appeal which since the first was denied they wouldn't allow me to file another. Meaning that I've basically lost access to thousands of dollars worth of games, and other content. Not to mention the time and effort that was put into those games over the years. If at all possible I would just like access to my account again as that is time, money, and memories that I'd never get back otherwise.Review fromDavid Y

1 starMS Outlook stinks. People send you an MS Teams appointment and it defaults to a 15 minute reminder. The only way to change it is to go into the individual appointment and edit the reminder time to 0 minutes or whatever you want. A 15 minute reminder makes sense for an in person appointment but not for a virtual MS Teams appointment where a 0 or 5 minute reminder would make the most sense as you are sitting in front of a computer and don't need to walk anywhere. I can change the default reminder time for appointments that I create but why not allow me to change the default reminder time for all appointments on my calendar regardless of who created it? What happens is that I am in the middle of doing work when the 15 minute reminder goes off and I click dismiss as not to have it annoy me I say to myself that I have plenty of time to keep working on what I am doing and then I forget about the stupid meeting and never join.Review fromGeoff B

1 starMy account got hacked, my email was then changed, and after filling out all the information to get my account recovered they sent the following: Greetings At Microsoft, safeguarding your account is a top priority. We have thoroughly investigated the account and billing activity associated with your Microsoft account. Based on this review, REMOVEDconfirmed that unauthorized access occurred.During the investigation, we discovered that the security information on your account had been changed. Due to our strict security protocols and the terms outlined in the Microsoft Services Agreement, we are unable to modify or restore the security settings once theyve been updated. If you used this account for Minecraft, we regret to inform you that the game cannot be recovered. A new purchase will be required on a newly created account. We understand this may be disappointing and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.Additionally, if you had files stored in OneDrive, those files are no longer accessible. Due to encryption and privacy safeguards, even our engineers cannot retrieve them. While this outcome may not be ideal, it is necessary to ensure your personal data does not fall into the wrong hands. This is not customer support, this is corporate greed forcing people to spend hundreds of dollars to be able to play games with their friends and family again. My child who has autism uses this account to help with regulating himself as well as reward for certain behaviors/milestones by getting small microtransactions here and there but they add up! This has been happening to so many people and the response is always the same. I would give them a 0 out of 5 stars because they didn't resolve anything.
