Microsoft has taken my outlook and I have all my accounts on that particular email including bank accounts that I can't access now, Music I no longer can listen to that I paid for, my app for seeing my psychologist and therapist is now not accessible I had to cancel my appointments for fear of missing my appointment, I got bills I literally cannot pay now, and I just bought a pc for 300$ and now I can't use it unless I make a Microsoft account, also steam is locked now too, again I have nothing this is ridiculous I want answers! Or refund me my money for everything all I did was try to import my passwords into Microsoft service to use! And as soon as I logged a new password that Microsoft recommended I got logged out and I don't remember the password because I had no time to remember anything.

I am requesting assistance of the BBB to help with Microsoft Bing search results as when my name is searched on Bing it returns results to a MURDER and drug arrest! NONE of this is related to me and there is no mention of my name anywhere in either article. I have been called in and questioned by my HR Department and I need those to NOT BE CONNECTED TO KY NAME when searched on Bing. I have tried countless ways to contact **** and its just generic replies I cant request deletion any other way and its urgent that you please assist me as this is ruining my reputation and causing severe issues. BOTH articles are pasted below PLEASE help me. Customer Answer

      Date: 09/05/2025

      Hello,

After the initial letter was received by the business I allowed them additional time to conduct an investigation as stated in their reply. Apologies for not responding sooner as I wanted to allow them time to look into the matter. To my disappointment, the business finally got back to me yesterday indicating that they can or will not do anything and suggested that I obtain a court order to address my concerns.
I did reply to the business directly and asked if was anything at all that they can help me with outside of a court order as I felt that was unfair, time consuming and costly. Unfortunately, the business failed to respond any further. While I appreciate the business being amicable, and responding to my complaint, I confine to remain very upset that these search results of my name lead to articles of murder, a father and son arrest for drugs and other horrific headlines. I am very upset that the business was unwilling to work with me to find a satisfactory resolution as I have explained to them, I personally read every article that came up and none of them had a mention of my name NOT even my FIRST name so there is no legitimate reason for all searches to go to these pages and I was truly hoping the business would disassociate my name with these results or at the very least suppress them since there is no reason to connect to me. I further explained due to the distinct and unique spelling of my last name this leaves me with grave concerns for my reputation but, it appears as though the business does not care since they never responded again.
So while I appreciate the response from the business and I appreciate their taking the tome to look into this complaint, I am still left in the same position I was in prior to filing the complaint which is extremely upsetting. Should the business wish to contact me again, I welcome them to do so to discuss this further. Thank you for attending to resolve this matter.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/11/2025

Please be advised that the business has reached out to me directly and has removed the listing as requested. This matter is now resolved and considered closed. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

My Minecraft account was hacked and stolen in May. I have tried multiple times to recover my account through ******************** support. Their responses have all said they cannot recover my account and will NOT reimburse me with a refund or credit for a new Minecraft account.

      Dear ***** ********,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Corporation through the Better Business Bureau regarding your Minecraft account concern.

I understand how frustrating it must be to experience a compromised account and the challenges you've faced in attempting to recover it. While Microsoft Support has reviewed your case and unfortunately cannot restore the account or offer a refund, Id like to ensure youre directed to the best possible resource for further assistance.

Since Minecraft account management and recovery are handled by Mojang Support, I recommend contacting them directly through their official help site: **************************. ****** specializes in account recovery and ownership verification and may be able to assist further, especially if your account was originally created through Mojang before migrating to Microsoft.

Proof of purchase (such as a transaction ID or receipt)
The email address originally associated with the account
      Any usernames or gamertags used

I hope this helps guide you toward a resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:

It did not solve the problem or do what I asked. BBB just accepted microsofts response without question. That is unacceptable customer service and I expect better. Both Microsoft and BBB say a refund isn't possible without elaborating why. This is also unfair and possible illegal.

My ********* account was hacked. I contacted ********* at approximately around the end of June 2025 and was told 5 business days. It is now August 20 2025 and no resolution. A representative did try to contact myself via email but put my case to inactive because I did not respond after a few days, but said to reply and they'd resolve it.I have since replied numerous times, and no replies. I have also considered contacting the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and filing an complaint as my email contained personal legal and medical information, including employment emails and other personal information. There is no number to contact to file a complaint on ********* and this is getting ridiculous that it's been nearly 2 months when their own emails say within 5 business days to be actioned.

n July 2025, I purchased a Microsoft product: Office 2024. During the installation process, the system suggested that I create an @*********** account to register the product, which I did by following the official instructions.Unfortunately, I had to uninstall the program because it created conflicts with files from a previous version of Office installed on my computer. From that moment, a serious problem began: I cannot regain access to the Microsoft account that was created specifically to register the product. The automated recovery system has kept me in an endless loop, requesting codes and verifications that never allow me to complete access. I have lost several days of work and hours trying unsuccessfully to resolve this through the automated support tools, which unfortunately do not help in this ******* concern is that I have no access to the associated account, and therefore I also cannot reinstall the product I purchased. As a Microsoft customer since 1992, I find it unacceptable that there is no clear path to obtain direct human assistance.I respectfully request that Microsoft provide immediate HUMAN assistance to verify my identity and restore access to my account, so that I can legally use the software I purchased. I am willing to provide any necessary information (purchase invoice, registration details, etc.) required to confirm my identity.Additionally, I have supporting documentation that proves ownership of the product acquired, which I am ready to share to resolve this matter without further delay.I kindly ask to be contacted at: ***********************

I am writing to tell you about the nightmare of an experience that I had with Microsoft. I was expecting an item which was supposed to be delivered on August 11th 2025. Unfortunately Microsoft delayed shipment and then their carrier of choice ***** delayed it further. At the end of the day, my package never arrived because their carrier does not deliver to my address.I spent more than six hours calling Microsoft and the *** back and forth in an attempt to fix the situation and provide another delivery location. *** informed me that only the shipper (Microsoft) can make this update. Microsoft refused to do this. They have since received the item, and have not issued my refund. In addition, this entire situation was very sloppy. Everyone kept pointing fingers at each other. **** told me that *** refused to deliver the package and *** told me that **** refused to take the package, and Microsoft refused to call *** to have the package rerouted to another address. This has been a very stressful situation and I really have zero faith in this company.

Hello I am contacting you regarding a banned xbox account on the ********************** network. I have owned and spent a lot of money on the account and have had it for years. Recently I received a ban from them even though I had no strikes on their system. If possible I wish to get a refund for my account since they are taking back the products I purchased.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/27/2025

      Dear ******* ******,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Corporation via the Better Business Bureau regarding your Xbox account suspension. After reviewing your complaint we notice this matter only can be fix by the Xbox enforcement team due only them have the authority to revoke bans, we proceed to contact them and they provide us the following information:

Thank you for reaching out to learn more about this accounts suspension.

This account was suspended for engaging in the manipulation of Xbox services. This activity can include, but is not limited to:

Using unauthorized software to make changes to your account, game saves, or interact with Xbox services in an unauthorized way
Unlocking achievements, prestige level, in-game ranks, or other content the account did not earn
Manipulating the followers or other data related to friends and followers through unauthorized software or unauthorized interactions with Xbox services
Manipulation of game clips and screenshots through unauthorized software or unauthorized interactions with Xbox services
Interfering with or manipulating the network traffic of your devices or the devices of others

Cheating and/or tampering with accounts and devices disrupts the game for other players and diminishes their hard work and dedication. Xbox Live should be fun and safe for everyone. To ensure that players continue to have a positive experience, we cannot allow these kinds of violations on the service.

Our team takes an evidence-based approach to enforcement and make our decisions based on the evidence we find while investigating that claim. Attempting to get someone suspended by sending in a flood of reports does not affect how we make our enforcement decisions, as everyone gets a fair investigation based on evidence rather than volume of complaints. Should we issue a suspension, it would be due to a violation of the Xbox Community Standards so rest assured that malicious attacks are unfounded if there has not been any violation of our policies.

For additional information about how to participate on Xbox Live in a safe and productive way, please visit our Stay Safe page (**********************************************************************************************************), the Microsoft Services Agreement (**************************************************************), and Community Standards for Xbox (**********************************************************************).

Going forward, please keep in mind that especially bad or repeated violations of Microsofts Community Standards for Xbox may lead to additional action, including permanent account suspensions or device bans.

Considering this information, we will be closing this complaint as theres no further action we can take regarding this case.

      Sincerely,

      Microsoft Corporation

I did not cheat or manipulate any network. I have no cheating software and being a working man have no time to do so. I had 0 strikes and I put a lot of money into that account. I am not a hacker. Will they at least refund my xbox since they want to take what I've purchased? I see a lot of people online are being banned for little to no reason. Is this a business tactic to try to get people to repurchase your digital products?

      Dear ****** ***,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Corporation via the Better Business Bureau regarding your Microsoft Rewards account.

We want to inform you that the Microsoft Rewards support team has determined that the restriction on your account might be related to unusual activity detected on your account. Please note that this activity is reported automatically by the system whenever it recognizes some unwanted activity on the account.
If the system detects that the account activities are not being conducted in good faith or appear to be automated, it may flag your account for unusual activity, which might affect your ability to redeem rewards. Please be assured that these account restrictions are temporary and can be lifted if the system observes consistent, good behavior over time.

On June 9, 2025, Microsoft charged my Citibank Mastercard $99.99 for what appears to be a renewal of Microsoft 365. I purchased this subscription in June 2024 as a one-time license for my wifes laptop, and I never authorized an automatic renewal.I never received any advance notification or email alert from Microsoft that the renewal was coming, which is standard practice for subscription-based services.I only discovered the charge when I received my July credit card statement. I disputed the charge with ******** on July 24, 2025. The dispute was denied after Microsoft claimed I had accepted click-to-accept terms and missed their 30-day refund window. This window is unfair in my case, as the charge only appeared on my monthly statement and no prior notice was given.I then contacted Microsoft Support directly. I spoke with two different representatives who followed scripted responses and refused to refund the charge.Resolution Requested:1.Full refund of $99.99 charged on June 9, 2025.2.Immediate cancellation of any ongoing subscription or auto-renewal linked to my account.I have attached supporting documentation from Citibank and Microsoft for review.

      Dear BBB analyst :

I respectfully reject Microsofts response. Their reply only repeats the fine print argument about automatic renewal, but does not address my main complaint:

I never gave informed consent for renewal.
I never received any advance notification or reminder email that a renewal would occur.
The charge only became visible when my credit card statement arrived in early July. Expecting a customer to dispute within 30 days of a June 9 charge, when no notice was provided, is unreasonable and unfair.

This is not about technical terms, it is about fair business practice. Ethical companies notify customers of renewals. ******************** failed to do so.

      I am requesting again:

      Full refund of $99.99
Immediate cancellation of any auto-renewal tied to my account
Without notification, this renewal was unauthorized. I urge the BBB to keep this complaint active until a fair resolution is reached.

      Regards,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Corporation via the Better Business Bureau regarding your billing concern.
Were writing to confirm that on September 3, our team processed a full refund in the amount of $99.99, which should be reflected in your original payment method within the standard processing period. Additionally, the auto-renewal feature associated with your account has been successfully deactivated to prevent any future recurring charges.
Please note that depending on your financial institution, refunds may take up to 30 days to appear on your account. If you do not see the refund after that time, we recommend contacting your bank or card issuer directly.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reply to this message.
