Important information
- Customer Complaint:
The BBB has received numerous complaints from consumers that allege paying a large fee to this firm for EIN numbers and the company claiming to be with the IRS. Online searches for this company website show that the website is based in Iceland and not in the United States. BBB strongly encourages consumers to visit the irs.gov website directly for any assistance in obtaining a EIN number. Consumers report their bank accounts being charged hundreds of dollars repeatedly for fees and providing SSN, passport information and other forms of ID that have then been compromised. To date, we have not received any responses to the complaints on file.
BBB suggests consumers also report their experience to the FTC at www.ftc.gov

On 05-09-2024 I searched on how to go about getting an EIN for a business I am starting.I ended up on there web site thinking it was Legitimate. On 05/14/2024 I was doing some work on getting the business set up and realized that the *** does not charge to get an EIN number!!I feel this was a total scam and do not know if this is even close to being legitimate!!Will they even set this up with the ***? They have all my personal information and I am more than worried what they might do with it!!!I am going to cancel the card I used to pay and am hoping there is no other repercussions from this VERY MISLEADING website!!! I am requesting a refund but, doubtful that it will happen as there is no answer when you try the phone number. Now I will have to contact the *** and see what steps need to be taking to rectify this. This company PREYS on unsuspecting victims who are trying navigate the paperwork to set up a business. I was looking for information on how to receive an EIN for a sole proprietorship. After searching on ******* IRS EIN Online Application sponsored link came up. The website appeared to look similar to a government website with multiple options for EINs. I followed the instructions and submitted payment via credit card for my EIN. It was not until I received my payment receipt email that I noticed it was a .com address and not .gov. This company is extremely misleading in their representation as a government agency. You do not find out they are a third party unless you scroll down past a plethora of information and find their disclosure information in fine print. This sort of business should be taken down based on the amount of complaints are on this site.Initial Complaint

Used ******************************* to apply for an EIN on 5/9/2024. They charged me $249 for an EIN and then I received an email saying that the company name was already being used and to reply with 2 additional names. After doing research, I learned that this company is not legit, and now they have my SS# as well as my credit card information. Order ID: **********Initial Complaint

The website appeared to be the legit *** online application and looked like the official irs webpage, asking the same questions. I am in need of opening an estate bank account for my deceased grandmother and thought this was a necessary evil until I realized I was duped like many others. I contacted customer service and they said I can not be refunded my money since i didnt cancel before the transaction was complete. I wont get the *** official letter for 4 weeks which is not legitInitial Complaint

I applied for *** on 5/5/2024. The *** TAX filing service website comes across as legal and part of ***.gov. Charged me $254 for the application and it stated "You will receive your Tax ID number from ************************* via e-mail today, usually within hours, unless submitted after 6:00 pm PST, it will be delivered the next business day. You will also receive a confirmation letter in the mail from the *** in up to 4 weeks. " I didn't get my *** till the next day even if I applied before 6pm PST. In addition, I feel so duped that this is a FREE SERVICE by *** and you can instantly received your number and verification letter after online application. This is very wrong, targeting vulnerable group of people including me.Initial Complaint

They are not a government organization. Very deceiving website and they know it. They are the top result when searching for *** EIN number. ****** is evil for not dealing with these types of "businesses." I've been scammed before (obamacare-plans.com) from sites that show up first. Filing for an EIN number through the *** is FREE - and just as easy. Now that I've paid these scam artists $339, they now have my credit card info. This world is going to ****...Initial Complaint

Sensetive information that was taken. 0n 4/24/2024 I entered a site that was made to look like an IRS site, I was trying to get an EIN #. I was fooled and completed my application with my SS# included. It then went to a page that asked for a credit card and I foolishly put in the information. After the card was declined I realized this was not a government page. What I want is for my information to be deleted from their data base and to be sure that it didn't get passed on to anyone else.Initial Complaint

This website is a SCAM. I thought I was on the *** (government) website to apply for an EIN number. This website poses as the *** and charges a large fee of $299.00 for a service that is completely free through the actual ***. I was charged $299.00 on April 17th, 2024. Once I discovered the website was not the actual *** I emailed and called the business and did not get a response. I called my credit card company who gave me a different phone number for the merchant and when I called that line, it went to voicemail and then hung up on me. I have not been able to get into contact with anyone representing the merchant and I would like the charge on my credit card canceled immediately.
