Important information
- Customer Complaint:
The BBB has received numerous complaints from consumers that allege paying a large fee to this firm for EIN numbers and the company claiming to be with the IRS. Online searches for this company website show that the website is based in Iceland and not in the United States. BBB strongly encourages consumers to visit the irs.gov website directly for any assistance in obtaining a EIN number. Consumers report their bank accounts being charged hundreds of dollars repeatedly for fees and providing SSN, passport information and other forms of ID that have then been compromised. To date, we have not received any responses to the complaints on file.
BBB suggests consumers also report their experience to the FTC at www.ftc.gov

On August 29, 2024, I mistakenly purchased an EIN for my business. Shortly after, I discovered that I could obtain an EIN for free from the ***. I immediately contacted this company, but it was after business hours. I submitted a cancellation request through their website that same evening. The following day, I called their office, told them what happened, and requested a full refund. Initially, I received an email confirming that I was entitled to a full refund of $249.00. However, I later received another email stating that a $75.00 processing fee would be deducted. I reiterated my request to close my account. Subsequently, today, 3 September 2025, I complained that I was trying to file for an EIN; however, I was unable to do so. I asked them to cancel my account for the second time. Subsequently, I requested that my information not be shared and that my credit card details not be retained. This evening, I checked my ********* statement and saw that only $75.00 had been refunded from ************. They did not provide an explanation. I am contacting my bank to dispute these charges, as I was supposed to receive the full amount of $249.00. I am requesting the remaining $174.00 from the company. They do notInitial Complaint

On June 4, 2024, I sought to obtain a TAX EIN and googled *** TAX EIN. The website that popped up was *** EIN TAX ID NUMBER where I applied. I had no idea that this was not the *** website. I paid $339 for what is a free service. It's very deceptive! They should not be allowed to have *** in their website name.Initial Complaint

I was misled into paying $319 by a company that falsely promised to provide an EIN immediately. They only informed me of their backlog and system issues after they had charged my credit card, contradicting their initial promise. Immediately after realizing this, I filled out their web form to request a full refund and received no acknowledgment. Eighteen hours later, I reached out via their support email address and have not received a response. This website deceives users into believing it is a governmental site capable of instant EIN provision. After further research, it became clear that I had been scammed, and now they have my sensitive information. I am now hoping to receive the full refund I have requested twice, and I am still waiting for a response from the company through their web form and contact email address.Initial Complaint

Went to ein-tax-id-application.com to file an EIN number- Website looks like the *** site. I did not end up paying but input a lot of sensitive information. I read through their documents and they have an email you can email if you have a complaint or want you data not sold- I emailed that email and it was blocked. Definitely breaking CA privacy consumer laws in my opinion.Initial Complaint

I entered sensitive information into this website thinking it was the irs.gov site before realizing it could be a scam site. I did not pay them any money, but now they have my name, address, ssn, etc. I am usually not an idiot about this sort of thing but this site is listed in ****** searches in a very deceptive way. I am worried about my information being sold/stolen for nefarious purposes.Initial Complaint
