      Alder is a ripoff! For one, I signed for a security system that works! I never agreed to having this system if I had trouble. So my monitor, said my battery was low. I called customer service and the man barely spoke Eniglish and told me he was mailing me a sensor and would receive it within a few days. Okay, after a few weeks, I received my equipment. I called again and he told me how to stick the sensor on my door. When, I did, it would not stick and the whole thing feel apart. They said they would have to mail abother one. I said, well then I should not be charged until I get equipment that works. They said they would not do that. I said I should not have to do this myself and keep receiving equipment that does not work. I asked for a technician to come, but they said it would take s very long time. I said I did not agree to this and wanted to cancel. They said they would send me a cancelation form vit would have to pay the remaining balance of ****. This company is a fraud! I am not paying for something that does not work. I have every right to cancel this junk! They can cancel this or I will see them in Court! I am not paying another dinrle for this junk! My bank has been notified. This company needs to be shut down! **************** is incompetent and they are nothing but a fraud! If something does not work, people have the right to cancel. ***** was eager to *************, when I first started, but will not now! They are a rip off!

      I've been a customer for 10 years. I called them on Feb. 26th, 2023 wanting to cancel. They proceeded to tell me that my contract didn't end until Oct. ****. I would have to pay a big penalty. Then on Aug. 9th they called to check on my service. I told them that I really wasn't using it and wanted to cancel. He said it would expire Oct. 2023, then came back and said Oct. ****. So I told him that I could use new batteries. They came out on Aug. 30th to replace the batteries. The next month my bill went up $6. I got a call from Alder again on Oct.12, 2023 wanting to give me a better price and renew my contract. That's when I told them to figure what the penalty is to cancel my contract since it would end in another year. He came back and said that my contract renewed back in June 2023 for another 5 years. I was so upset when he told me this. I called back on Oct 26, 2023 to talk to the Senior Manager. I told her what had happened and that I had been lied to about my contract ending date. She kept telling me she was sorry, but it had been renewed back in June, 2023 for 5 more years. I kept telling her the dates when they called and told me my contract would end Oct. of ****. She said she would investigate my account and let me know something. Here it is Jan.17, **** and I still haven't heard back. I'm so upset with Alder. This isn't the way you treat your customers by being dishonest.

      If it were possible to give zero stars I most definitely would! We've been with Alder since 2016, we called to cancel our services at the home we moved from back in Dec 2022, Thinking that we were no longer under contract, it would be easy to rid of this horrible company. Were we wrong! We found out our contract was automatically renewed because we did not provide a written letter at least 15 days before the expiration of the initial term. OKay fine! So soon after moving in our new home we called to have someone come to install cameras and monitor and almost every time they called to RESCHEDULE, week after week after week! We decided to keep services at our old home since family was living there, It got to the point that we decided it was best to let them continue to take our money from our bank account then to deal with the horrible customer service they provided. Moving forward to 11/2023, my husband decided to give them another try since they have been taking our money monthly with no camera or monitor set up in our new home! We have been waiting since Dec 2023 for a technician to come install them, just this morning another RESCHEDULE sorry of an excuse, this time they tried blaming it on the weather here in ***********, no rain,no sleet, no snow, nothing of that nature, just cold weather, the sun is even out! And we found out they upgraded us to the platinum without our knowledge. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! if you're thinking of joining.

      Like so many others on here, I hate this company.... I spend over an hour trying.to cancel service that was renewed in June 2023 without notification. Truth is, they only call you if you owe them money. AND IN ORDER TO CANCEL SERVICE I HAVE TO BUY OUT THE NEW CONTRACT... 56 MONTHS AT $62.99 PLUS TAX PER MONTH. I'll take the hit on my credit report... I'm not paying them a *****. Worst customer service ever.... in order to "help" me they basically forced me to agree to a deferment that still doesn't get me out of the contract. And to make matters worse, the system gets tripped after I have moved out and I get charged $85 per incident whenever police have to respond to the alarm.Really is the worst company ever.

      This company set up alarm at my former residence for a new customer under my name. When the bill was not paid, they turned it in to collections, and it subsequently ended up on my credit report. My signature was forged, and I am still trying to clear my name and credit. I would not have known if I had not applied for an auto loan. I have filed a fraud case at my local police department.

      This is far the worst alarm system a company can offer. These people just lie and try to manipulate people. How in the world can you be on contract for 5 years and you dont cancel into , it automatically renew under contract for 5 more years. The contract started in 2018. I tried canceling in June. Call again in September to cancel. Email paper and still took monthly notes out my account. So today I hear that I am still under contract when I never was informed the times I called. This company needs to be closed. Permanently for him informing people. False information. I am requesting my contract and by all means getting me an attorney. I will not let this company threaten me with this. Nor will they mess up my credit with this. I had the system and wasn't utilized it at all. Waiting patiently 5 years to cancel. I see why they aren't accredited

      I don't want to give them a star at all. For the past few months I've noticed that my cameras would not record any history. They say i need to purchase more cloud space. You can only view live mode. I contacted them they said I was using the wrong app. I signed a ******************** 2020 which I completed. In 2022 they tried to sell me new cameras which I turned down because I didn't want to extend my contract. Told them I want to stay month by month. Now I'm told that they refuse to cancel my service unless I pay 250 dollar early termination fee. I will be billed each month and they will automatically renew the contract without my permission. As of today they tell me I'm not allowed to cancel my service until I pay them in full. I refuse to give them another dime

      Returned equipment back in Aug 2022, I talked to a very nice young lady on that day. Explained to her that I want to return because I wouldnt use it and that my mother was recently diagnosed with Huntingtons disease and would be moving in with me. Because of this I would be working from home and no longer had a need for the system.Today I missed a call from them (they left no message) I called back and was hung up on 3x before I had to search for an 800 number. They say there are no notes on my account or record of cancellation. Apparently its my fault someone didnt do their job. I didnt even know I had an account. Ive received NOTHING by mail, email or phone up until today. I dont have the equipment I didnt even open the box that I returned and am not receiving any services. Theyve charged me over $1,000 in ***************************************************************************** I pay 90% of a said 60 month contract NO WAY I agreed to 5 years! I dont care if they come back at me saying I verbally or electronically agreed to it. Its a lie. I dont do contracts and in the rare cases that I do its most definitely not for five years. I do, however, have an UNOPENED eSign request in my email.Wow is all I can say right now. This company makes their money off of *******.

      The worst company Ive ever dealt with. When I first joined I was tricked into thinking that the prior owner having equipment meant I could get a discount but after being tricked into signing a 3.5 year contract I discovered they would bring all new equipment they would not support. Of which they charged me for 3 cameras. One has not worked for months and they refuse to send a tech to support until I climb on a 12+ foot ladders to troubleshoot live. And tonight when I called to cancel I was told I had to call another number during M-F hours. They dont even take your number for the boss to call back. The company is a fraud. The man who sold me the contract is a fraud. Stay far away from this disgrace of a company
