On June 1st a Vivint salesman was going door to door and offering 30 days to test out their equipment and services. So I thought I'd give it a try as I had been wanting cameras. I decided that the package product they provided was not what I was looking for and called to cancel on June 26th or 27th. **************** informed me that I cannot cancel after 3 days and that the salesman would have to confirm that they indeed offered 30 days to cancel. So I asked *********** to cancel on June 27th and was told via text he would call on my behalf the next day. I again called customer support the next day to find out that he never contacted on my behalf. I was told that they would email *********** and his manager to find out about the 30 day offer. I also texted the salesman asking if he cancelled for me and he said he would call me but never did. So again I waited a day or two and tried again. I was told that the both the salesman and his manager never responded to the attempts that customer support made to contact them so I could not cancel for this reason. So basically Vivint is offering 30 day trial to customers via door to door salesman and they do not actually offer a 30 day trial. However their competition does so they know you'll believe them. And if you call to cancel and they try to contact your salesman they will never reply to them basically scamming you into a contract you thought was a 30 day trial. In short they lied to me offering a 30 day trial when the company doesn't offer one so that I would not try to cancel until I was locked into a contract. This was done knowingly and maliciously to scam me into a contract.Business Response

Hello,My name is *********************, and I have been a vivint customer for two weeks and I'm extremely frustrated and unhappy. I recently bought a home and referred by the previous owner. I haven't been able to speak to anyone. I installed VIVINT system on June 24th, which I was charged $153.99 I believe for someone to send me instructions via text. No one explained to me the system. No one walked me through how to work my panel, my monitors, my cameras etc. Two hours later after installing the system my thermostat recorded a different number for my ** than the panel of the system. I didn't think much of it...maybe I didn't k*** how to work the panel yet. The next day, Sunday I came back to continue painting and renovating my new home. The thermostat wouldn't even turn on and the panel said my house was in the 90s. I started to call to figure it out (6.25.23). They had me restart it, then reboot it, then please hold...let me see. Oh it's ok ***, try in a bit etc. I called a couple days later, again with the same issue (6.27.23). This Rep *** said it was my ** system, which by the way was working perfectly fine up until the system was activated. The previous owner had it inspected before putting the house on the market. My inspector 4 weeks prior to closing.. said the ** system was perfectly fine before purchasing the house. So how could it be by ** system?! I called YET AGAIN ( 6.29.23)...different Rep ***, wanted me to rewire the thermostat (ME, i'm not a technician). He said to pull out the wires and with pliers to put them back to see if it's the thermostat or the **. I was livid by ***. I called again on Saturday, (7.01.23 ), the new Rep took the thermostat offline and tried to reboot the system again... etc. I asked to have a technician sent out to my house to check out the thermostats. She said I had to pay extra for this service. They want to charge me extra to have someone come to my house to check out a system no one has even showed me how to work. Keep in mine...this house was scorching hot. At this time, I haven't had them for a week and I had made multiple calls. They charged fees to install a system...let me rephrase that. A system installed VIA TEXT to me. It's unbelievable that i'm even writing this. She finally offered to send someone out at no charge. She said she would put a high priority on it and someone would call me. Monday July 3rd...NOTHING, no call. I called back and they said the first available to come would be July 14th. Let me repeat myself JULY 14TH!!!. I told her that I wanted to cancel my contract. She sent me to customer service , where I spent 52 mins on hold and no one answered. It was too hot in that house for me to stay and continue waiting. I got a call today (7.10.23), saying *** they have someone come to check out my thermostats on JULY 26TH!!!! I haven't moved in yet and am waiting to get the ** guy to install new thermostats in my house and take VIVINT system off. I'm BEYOND upset. I want to be let out of my contract so I can go with a company that cares about its customers. A place that when I call, i'm priority. As of right *** i'm even guessing if my house is even being monitored....seriously!!! I would like someone to please help me out. I'M SO MISERABLE right ***. If I didn't have to remodel and paint my house. I would have noticed these issues and cancelled vivint within 24 hours of getting it. I have sent an email out to them on 7.05.23 with no answer. I'm writing to you with emotion as i'm so upset. I hope every call was recorded so you can see that I never talked to them in a rude way, Or disrespected them in any way, shape or form. I have been very courteous on the phone. I haven't yelled or screamed, but *** I just want to be done with them. I have found their lack of care and interest very disheartening. I hope that you may be able to help me with Vivint.Thank you so much,*********************Business Response

I am filing a complaint again Vivint Smart Home, I recently got my security system installed on Thursday 07/06/23. 3 days later my system went completely black and nothing works the cameras, the doorbell, my thermoset (even with it being 100 plus degrees in *****) I spoke to technical support on 07/09/23 in which they went through all the steps and determined that we needed someone to come out, I was advised that they were going to set my appointment up for a tech to come out on 07/13 but promised me they would escalate so that someone could come out the next day 07/10/23 due to my air not working through the system. As of today 07/10, I have been on the phone with multiple people to resolve this matter. Being that I just got the service 3 days ago there should be no reason why my system completely shut down. I advised of the urgent need at 8am on 07/10/23 and advised them that the air in the home is not working due to the new thermostat that was installed with the new system they advised me that someone would be giving me a call within 3-4 hours. they would have someone come out as this was a CODE RED no one contacted me regrading someone coming out so had to call myself after 4 hrs of waiting for someone to give me a call, when I contacted the loyalty department, they continued to bring up the fact that my appointment was on 07/13/23 and I told them repeatedly that a rep advised me that they would have someone come out today. I asked to speak with a supervisor on multiple occasions but wasnt able to speak to one the reps continue to tell me that they were escalating this up and promised again that their manager was speaking with tech support to have a tech out today and advised me to allow 2 additional hours in the meantime me and my kids (1,5 and 12) are in a hot home with no system after I paid my deposit for the services. I patiently waited the 2 hours as requested and NO ONE has yet to call are set up anyone to come out to fix this issued. I contacted Vivint AGAIN on my own to see what was going on and what was the hold up on having someone come out and spoke to another representative who advised me the same thing that my appointment was set up for 07/13 and which I had to advised them ONCE AGAIN that the previous representative and manager advised that they were escalating this and would have someone out today. Nothing has been resolved, I am now out of a security system to protect my home as well as my thermostat not working in 100 degree weather !Business Response

I sold my house in 2020 and had Vivint home security service October of 2019 with all the equipment paid off. They are stating that they cant cancel my service without me having to paying an absurd $989 to cancel my monitoring service with them. Even though I no longer need their service. The representative said they can offer me a buyout 50 which would bring down the total due to $471. However on Vivints website under terms and conditions it doesnt state anywhere that you have to pay a remaining balance for monitoring fees, a buyout, or contract obligations. It does stated that they can cancel your service at anytime without any monies owed. I would like for Vivint to cancel my service and to remove the balance that they believe is fraudulently due to them.Business Response

I've been using the current home security system for about 4 maybe 5 years now. So our monthly payment would consist of the equipment and the video service. After the equipment was paid off they continue to charge for the equipment with the service. When I was aware of this situation I asked could they give me a breakdown of how long the equipment was paid off and why were we continuing to be charged for it. They really gave little to no explanation for it. Some of the people I talk to said that there was some type of credits that we had for the over payments and others would say they don't see it. Ultimately I decided to cancel the contract and this is where it got really weird. I've been getting the run around and they've even went to length as to giving me a better deal on the monthly payment, I consistently remind them that I'm just trying to cancel but they constantly insist that I take this better deal or they'll come up with an even lower one. And this is the department that I was told that was responsible for handling cancelations. They'll then put me on hold again for 30 mins to an hour. I told them that I would pay 170 but anything other than that I won't because I'm still being billed and no one is ever reaching back out to me for the cancelation. It's almost like they harass me but when I talk to someone still nothing is done.Business Response

I was told that Vivint would buy my business contract out with ADT by giving me a gift card for $1000. *************************** (sales rep) said that if I was to install solar panels at my home address he would give me another $1000 towards my ADT business buy out. ***** then said that my account at my home address would also receive $1000 buy out gift card and he would give me yet another $1000 out of his "money"The technician attended at my business and a second system had to be installed, ok I understood this, but I paid for the equipment up front (not leased) which meant I had to purchase the second system then and there too. ***** told me that I would receive a $470 refund for the difference. (I didn't). The time came to sign for the solar which he promised would not show on my credit only to find that by signing it put a lien on my house !!!!! ***** as soon as he came to my house stated that because I had put two systems in my business i would now get a $750 gift card for each account and he would put in another $1000, making it $2500 towards my ADT buy out for my business alone, he then went on to confirm that I would receive $1000 gift card for my home address and another $1000 once the solar was installed.I was not going to allow a lien on my house, so I cancelled the Solar. Once I did this suddenly I was only entitled to one buy out for my two systems at my business, they even tried to give me my refund saying that was the buyout money, this was my own money !!I fully understand that I am no longer entitled to the $1000 per location from the solar, but this company should stand behind the offer made of $1500 for my business and $1000 for my home address. I now have an invoice from ADT of over $5000 to pay if I stay with Vivint (which I is very unlikely).Business Response

I purchased a security package from vivint almost three years ago. I have 3 outdoor cameras and two doorbells. When i purchased the equipment i was informed that the cameras and doorbells would detect someone within at least 25 feet of the camera. Since the day i purchased the equipment it has not worked properly and will only detect a person within 3 feet on a good day. I have had at least 7 techs to my home to fix the problem. They all indicated to me that the product is not working properly and cannot be fixed until vivint updates their technology. Recently vivint came out with a generation 2 camera and doorbell. I requested they replace my cameras and doorbells for free since they now have updated equipment which may fix the issue. Vivint refused and unformed me that i had to pay to get new equipment. I am requesting my equipment be replaced with functional equipment.Business Response

I had to have a technician come out because my panel stopped working. The representative stated that she would waive the $99.00 fee, which I have screen shots of. This was done in June. I have spoken with 3 different reps regarding this billing issue and they all state that they will take off that fee as well as the late. Here it is a month later and nothing. I have paid my bill every month for 3.5 years that I have had this terrible service. I need them to adjust my bill like they said that would do. I am tired of getting on the phone with them and they do not fix the problem. Just fix my bill!!This company is the worst ever!!!Business Response
