What an absolute joke of a company. Fraud at the highest level and they continue deceptive billing practices. I canceled my contract by paying $1200 for a ring doorbell camera and one additional camera. I then paid north of $1500 to cancel a contract I never knew existed. After 11 months they started charging my card the monthly fee and wont stop. Havent used Vivint in 3 years. Complete trash and cant help but think its karma for the company founder/CEO recent bad news in Baja. Beyond criminal. Also, the BBB is a joke too. Anyone can pay for an A rating.

On August 31, 2023 I contacted Vivint regarding changing my monitoring agreement. My contract expired and I wanted to cut it back to just alarm monitoring. My cameras had quit working and I wanted them to drop Video Monitoring. I spent hours on the phone trying to get this completed. After my conversation with the Customer Service Team, I got an email that stated it was "Confirming my extension of my contract." I did not authorize, discuss, or sign anything for a new or extended contract. I contacted Customer Service again and after many hours they agreed that I did not authorize a contract extension and that they were putting me on month to month. On January 24, 2024 I contacted Vivint customer service again to terminate my monitoring services. At that point they said that I could not terminate because I was in a contract. I attempted to review what happened last August and get them to understand that I never authorized a contract extension or a new contract but they would not budge. I have spent many hours on the phone with Vivint with nothing but them trying to up-sell me instead of just canceling my service as requested. I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop charging me. I am fearful that they will try to harm my credit.

So my playback feature on my cameras stopped working. I was on the phone with Vivint for 2 hours yesterday, they couldn't fix it. I was able to fix one on my own today. I called to have them re-add my other two and now it won't load and reboot. The technician tells me either he has to charge me $99 for a technician to come out OR I need to get on a ladder and physically/manually reset the cameras myself. I have been on the phone with Vivint representatives for over an hour at least three times in the past week and followed all of their instructions to no avail. I cant believe the only resolution is to have ME pay THEM or climb on a ladder. I have NEVER heard of such poor customer service from a supposed "**********************" company.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. I paid off my contract in may of 2022 to cancel my account. Which the balance due was over $1200 and was paid over the phone and received email confirmation of payment. I was told payment completion would cancel my account. Dec of 2023 i receive a bill for security monitoring, for an account we have paid off and have not even had the equipment installed in almost 2 years. I have tried 3 separate times now since 12/15/23 to cancel my account and they REFUSE. I have no outstanding balance with them. I even paid the $185.15 they said i owed for services from 12/2023 and 1/2024 even though we do not use their services. They are now saying my contract is not up until ****!!!! I never signed anything nor agreed to continue my services after the final payment was made on 5/30/2022.

RE:   Consumer Complaint Case #: ********
                Complainant: **** *******
                Vivint Account #: *******
Date of Agreement: June 12, 2021

      To Whom It May Concern:

I have reviewed the information provided
      by Mr. ******* and
      appreciate the opportunity to respond.

In his complaint, Mr. ******* states that they have been trying to
cancel the monitoring service for six months. Mr. ******* states that a final
invoice showing proof the equipment is paid off was provided along with a
written notice of cancellation. Mr. ******* states that they are still being
charged. Mr. ******* desires the monitoring service account to be cancelled and
      no further contact from Vivint.

A Vivint representative has attempted to contact Mr. Murray regarding
this matter via email. After reviewing the account, Vivint agrees to forgive
the remainder of the monitoring service agreement effective April 18, 2023, when
the written notice of cancellation and proof the equipment line of credit being
paid in full was received and refund all payments made directly to Vivint from
that date forward. Ms. ***** ******* has no further obligation to Vivint.

Vivint’s records indicate that Ms. ***** ******* signed a Purchase and
Services Agreement (“Agreement”) on June 12, 2021. Mr. ******* contacted Vivint
on April 12, 2023, to get payoff information and was advised to call into Vivint’s
cancellation department. April 13, 2023, Mr. ******* called inquiring about Vivint’s
move process. He was provided with moving options. Mr. ******* wanted to bring
the equipment with him. June 2nd and 5th, 2023, Mr.
******* called saying they moved to a temporary home and would be moving out of
the country in a few months. Vivint’s representative offered a three-month deferment
on June 2nd, however, it was not applied. June 5th, when Mr.
******* called back, he requested a six-month deferment. He was given a verbal
explanation and agreed to the deferment. November 10, 2023, Mr. ******* called
to cancel the agreement as they are moving out of the country. December 22,
2023, Mr. ******* called saying the account should be cancelled, they had moved
out of the country. Due to this there were no options to provide. Vivint’s
representative submitted to have the agreement cancelled after confirming the
equipment had been paid off in full. January 23, 2024, Ms. ******* called as
the agreement was still active and had not been cancelled.

To resolve this matter, Vivint agreed to the resolution as stated
above. Ms. ***** ******* has no further obligation to Vivint. Mr./Ms. *******
may contact Vivint’s representative with any questions or concerns they may
      have.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I shouldn't have to file a BBB complaint to get the company to do what they said they would do multiple times.

      Sincerely,
