I had my car in on 6/24/23 for a routine oil change at the Jiffy Lube in ******** **. After I drove the car home and parked it in the garage, I noticed that it was dripping oil. I thought that it was just residual oil from the change however a few hours later it was a puddle of oil. I cleaned it up and checked it the next morning and there was another puddle. This time I put a bucket under the car and we went out of town. When we returned on 7/4/23, the bucket was 1/2 full of oil. I then sent communication to Jiffy Lube and they asked if I would bring the car in to have it looked at on 7/6/23. After looking at it they said the oil leak was coming from somewhere else than the plug, however this car has never leaked oil and it was not leaking at the time I brought it in to Jiffy Lube. They told me that this leaking was not their fault numerous times yet the attached photo clearly shows they tried to stop the plug from leaking with some red material. They told me that did the best they could. When I brought the car home, it leaked much worse than before I brought it back to them. They also stated that they pumped the oil out of the top of the motor however I sat in the vehicle the whole time it was being changed and they never pumped anything off the top of the motor. I asked them if they really pumped the oil off the top, then why did they take off the engine shield off the bottom of the car? They replied that they had to remove the oil filter however the oil filter is on the top of the motor. Clearly there was some confusion on what type of vehicle they were working on. After them telling me they would not correct the issue, I brought the car into the repair shop where they found the oil plug to be stripped and covered up with a red material. I had to have the oil pan/plug replaced at my expense of $314.69 which I turned over to Jiffy Lube. Their reply to me was they would only refund me the initial oil change of $103.21. I received that check on 7/21/23.

The attached Jiffy Lube invoice of service dated 7/13/23, service comments section indicates the old motor oil was extracted through our EVAC process which means the oil was extracted from the top of the engine therefore we would not have touched the drain pan plug underneath the vehicle. The guests' claims could not be substantiated. We returned the oil change cost as a courtesy, but his claims aren't true.  If he had preexisting leaks from somewhere else, we are not liable.

I am rejecting this response because: My question back to Jiffy lube - How does a car brought in for a simple oil change that is not leaking oil, have a flow of oil seeping though the plug if the oil was extracted from the top of the motor. Can you also explain why you took off the engine shield if you did not extract the oil from the pan. What was the purpose of that. I sat in the car and watched the entire process of the oil change, and not once did I see the evacuation devise hook up to the top of the car. I 've attached the invoice again showing that the oil plug was stripped in the pan that cause the leaking. Strange fact, The guy at the Jiffy Lube I was at said that oil was leaking from somewhere else other than the pan yet after I had the oil pan replaced, all of the leaking has halted. I cannot even tell you how disgusted I am with this service knowing that the shop has completely lied about what actually happened and to know it will likely happen to someone else.

I visited the West Tropicana Jiffy Lube on 7/13 at 3PM to get an oil change. I paid $161.13 for the visit although this did include a $30 air filter. Roughly 5 minutes and a few blocks after leaving Jiffy Lube, the car began to smoke out of both tailpipes and the check engine light came on. I pulled the car over and called a family member for assistance. It was over 110 degrees outside while I waited for someone to come pick me up. The car was not leaking oil and no oil appeared to be on the manifold so we drove the car home (pics of the car smoke from a video taken on the drive home attached). Once home we noticed that oil was double the amount on dip stick and figured they overfilled it. The next day I had to borrow a vehicle to get to work as there was not time to resolve the problem and car still smoking. Upon draining the oil to get to reasonable level, oil was black (picture). It became clear the old oil was never emptied and new oil was added on top. This required a trip to auto store to buy new oil to add (attached). Two days without a vehicle, stranded on the side of the road in the heat, basically performing my own oil change, I am asking for a full refund. The money I spent on new oil is cancels out the air filter expense. I contacted Jiffy Lube twice via email and twice via phone. While the ** called back and left a message, I have not been able to reach him since.

On July 15 I got an oil change at Jiffy Lube in **************** **************. It only took about 10 to 15 minutes which is usually really quick for an oil change and they usually take about a half hour or more, The manager said everything looks to be in good working condition. I drove it home and everything was OK. I had the next day off from work. I drove to the mall and back home. the next day I went to work about 20 miles away, on my way home my car started rattling smoking, and then leaking Oil all over the place as it broke down on the highway heading home.. I had it towed back to Jiffy Lube and demanded that they fix the problem. I had a mechanic look at it. He told me I have a rod shot through the back of the engine. I asked the manager what He could do to fix it for me he said theres nothing they can do and offered me an oil refund I said absolutely not someone here wrecked my car and now no ones willing to pay for it. I had the manager call his manager above him and he said theres nothing they can do for me. I said Id follow up with my lawyer , my car has always been running fine until I took it to the Jiffy Lube !

When the vehicle was in for service, we documented that it had unusual engine noise and twice on the invoice that it had no oil on arrival. Guest also doing **** miles between oil changes. This vehicle had several issues with it upon arrival. There was no oil in the engine when it came for oil change this day. We used OEP when the car was serviced on this date. I checked the service history, and the vehicle was low on oil when it arrived last service as well. There were preexisting issues with this car.Jiffy Lube did not cause the damage. On June 28, 2023, I brought my vehicle in for a simple oil change at this location. Prior to me bringing my vehicle, I had no check engine light on or any issues with my vehicle prior to the oil change. ****************** completed an oil change on my vehicle and I left. The following day on June 29, 2023 as I drove my vehicle my check engine light came on and low oil pressure light was blinking. I immediately brought the vehicle back to Jiffy Lube store number 214, where the associate ***************** who changed my oil the day prior, looked into why the service lights were lighting up. He came back and told me that the oil was low and that I was leaking oil from the filter. He said he can change the oil filter one more time and top off the oil. He asked if I could drive around the block to test the oil levels. As soon as I drove the vehicle back, he checked the oil levels again, and he said I was still leaking oil excessively and had lost about a quarter of the oil just from the test drive. He said that he could not locate where the oil was leaking from and asked that I immediately take my car to a service center. I took my vehicle to Midas in ********, ********, where it was found that I had a broken oil filter adapter. I also had to get a new INT manifold set. The total cost of the repair was $1635.07. I also had to rent a vehicle while my car was being repaired that cost me $210.20. I am seeking reimbursement from this company for both the repairs and rental car for a total of $1845.27. All receipts and proof of their error is included.

On February 10, 2023 around roughly 2pm I went to get an oil change for my **** ***** b3000 pickup truck at the Jiffy Lube on ********************************** *********, ** *****. During the oil change my engine bay caught on fire while I was in the truck.I was talking to the service technician who was getting the vehicle information for my truck at his computer located in the front car working position of the right stall of their garage bay entering from the rear driveway. My truck was turned off, in the park position with the keys on the passenger seat of the vehicle to ensure the engine would not start during the oil change service.Right in the beginning of the oil change the technicians starting to work on the truck the employee who I was talking with also noticed as I did the engine try to crank over while I looked at another standing at the front of the engine bay, facing me (in the driver seat) holding both of his hands out to not start the engine.I was quickly confused as I knew the keys were out and within seconds I see smoke coming from the engine bay. The smoke turned into a fire ranging from what seemed to be the the front and rear portion of the engine bay on the driver side and growing. As I start making sense of this I decide to get out of the vehicle as I wasnt sure how bad it was going to get and if my personal safety was at risk. The technicians put out the fire which roughly took a minute to two minutes with a red fire extinguisher. After they put out the fire one of the lead employees came to me to apologize for the inconvenience and they will see what needs to be repaired. They told me that they needed to replace some ground wires. After waiting the service tech comes in and asked me if I had previous brake issues which I have not. In fact, I just got an entire brake job done roughly 2-3 months ago. Now my brakes have a weird pop feeling when I depress the brake pedal and I have more concerns about other compromises from the effects of the fire.

He further stated that the tech who was assigned to my car was off work for the day, and I needed to call back tomorrow!I told him that ******* (the tech) said he would fix it, and I could pick it up that day!***** angrily replied, Im not piecing through his work, call back tomorrow, and he slammed the phone up on me!I returned to the shop on July 5, 2023, with a witness. My car was parked in back of the shop. I waited in the office. ***** came in with my keys, he said we put the thermostat on your car. He handed me an old thermostat, saying they took it off my car! I asked if they replace the water pump, ***** said no, only the thermostat!I asked him for some paperwork for what they did, ***** said we dont have any paperwork, we didnt charge you!I went to drive my car out of their lot, but noticed that the thermostat did not show any reading, and even if I pressed the gas peddle, my car moved very slowly, also the engine light was on!I took my car to Auto Zone, and they hooked it up to their engine tester. The error code indicated a problem with the coolant temp censor, which is the same part ******* took off my car!******* deliberately damaged my car by not even replacing the censor he took off! The tech at Jiffy Lube took the censor off my car, and broke it! He also did not install the thermostat that I purchased from an auto parts store!

My car was overheating when I drove it off their premises, but the thermostat  **** did not work as it did when I brought my car in for repairs!

I am requesting that they pay for the censor, and thermostat.

Please be advised that per the guests admission the vehicle had preexisting issues such as her vehicle was running hot, and the vehicle coolant light was coming on.  What was not mentioned in the guest description is that upon our vehicle inspection we saw that the water pump was leaking which is another pre-existing issue which we pointed this out to the guest.  Our tech did remove the old thermostat and install the new thermostat purchased and presented by the guest which could have resulted in the damage of the existing sensor. The guest presented an invoice from ************** (*********) which reflects costs of replacing the water pump and associated water pump cost and removing the thermostat housing to remove the broken sensor ($135.00 + $36.92=$171.92).  We do not accept liability for the issues of the water pump since this was a pre-existing condition upon arrival at our service center, however we will happily reimburse the $171.92.The thermostat is unrelated to the replacement of the water pump as these parts are located in different locations of the vehicle and we did not touch the vehicle water pump.  The reimbursement check for $171.92 will be ******* to the guest mailing address as listed on this complaint.

Jiffy Lube is not providing us with all records of oil changes we had done on our vehicle, due to "Archiving" issues, but we need those records in order not to have to pay out of pocket for an engine replacement with ******* We reached out to corporate and they said they did not have anything but how can that possibly be?? We believe they either did not complete the process even though they took payment from us or they did not log it when we took our vehicle in, but that is not our fault. These records are CRUCIAL and could save us $17k (we don't have!). This is very frustrating!!!

I have spoken with ***************** and advise of the records we do have as the records from 2018 may already be removed however we are double checking.  ***************** did indicate that she may have visited another Jiffy Lube of which I advised that other Jiffy Lubes in CA are not owned by my company.  I will respond back to ***************** as soon as I hear back from our billing database department.

Update; We have queried all-archive data bases have been thoroughly queried via the vehicle license plate ID, VIN #, your name and ******* name.  The result of the searches reflects the same as the starting record reflects 11/2020 as the first visit.  It is quite possible that the vehicle was serviced by another Jiffy Lube not owned by Team Car Care and I've added the BRANDs customer ********************** department's inbox *********************************************************** as they can query all ZEEs billing database.  We consider this matter closed.
