July of 2024 we had a solar system installed by SunPower, who went bankrupt. SunStrong has taken over SunPower. We have a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The 1st week of April 2025, I noticed a panel not working. I called SunStrong and was told to file a request online, which I did. SunStrong was not getting back to me so I contacted the contractor who was hired by SunPower to put the sys. in. They came out & confirmed it was an inverter not working. They contacted SunStrong letting them know and put in a request to fix it for me and as of today 7/10/25, SunStrong has not returned their call. I have had several conversations & email exchanges, and I'm told "Your system is performing as it should" Ticket is closed! The following verbiage is in the contract:
SunPower promises, We will…
? Insure the System and arrange for its repair and maintenance (including the inverter) at no additional cost to you as specified in the PPA.
This is a simple fix all they have to do is contact the contractor to come and fix it as they are waiting, but can't do it without a ticket from SunStrong. Every time I talk with someone at SunStrong the time frame in which they tell me someone will get back to me gets further and further. Started at 7 -10 days, as of last Tuesday 7/8/25 it's 60 days. The contract clearly states the inverter is their responsibility. They just keep blowing me off, yet collect the monthly payment. My systems is not 100% of what I'm paying for.Business Response

I am submitting a complaint regarding Clasp Launch Servicing LLC, the servicer of my Income Share Agreement (ISA) from General Assembly Bootcamp. This is not a loan, but a contract requiring me to pay 10% of my income only if I earn over $40,000 per year.
I am currently unemployed and enrolled at Boston University. However, Clasp has falsely listed my “Current Annual Income” as $87,059.50, despite the fact that I have no income at this time.
They also requested IRS Form 4506-T, which I completed and submitted. Yet, Clasp has been slow to review it, and they still miscalculated my income. I also provided:
1. Official enrollment verification from the University
2. A 6/25 job application screenshot, since LinkedIn does not show precise dates
Despite meeting the criteria for income deferment under my ISA, they continue to show my status as “In Repayment” and are demanding $725.49/month, with $1,455.98 due by 07/02/2025.
I believe Clasp is mishandling my case, misrepresenting my financial situation, and not honoring the deferment terms of the ISA. I am requesting BBB's assistance in resolving this issue fairly.Customer Answer

I signed a lease agreement with Sunpower Financial on 10/2/2017. Sunpower went Bankrupt and was taken over by SunStrong Management/ Launch Servicing towards the end of 2024. My system does not function properly. I contacted the company numerous times(ticket ************************) since 6/2024 regarding the issues. They have never sent down a technician. As a result my system produced half of the contractually agreed upon amount of solar power.
I have requested a refund based on the contract which states that I am entitled to a refund if the system does not produce agreed upon amount. In addition I am waiting a year for a technician to come and repair my leased system as per our contract. Interestingly, Launch Servicing is requesting $150 monthly from me as per said contractBusiness Response

In March 2023, my 84-year-old father, ******* ******, entered into a 25-year solar lease with SunPower Capital, LLC. The lease was later assigned to SunStrong Capital Holdings, LLC. He was told he would qualify for SDG&E’s Net Energy Metering 2.0 (NEM2) program if he signed before April 14, 2023. Based on this assurance, he moved forward with the lease and system installation, which did not include a battery—because NEM2 was supposed to provide favorable export credits.
While the contract was signed on March 28, 2023, well before the NEM2 cutoff, SunStrong (or its predecessor) failed to submit the required interconnection paperwork to SDG&E until June 30, 2023—more than two months too late. As a result, my father was placed under the new Net Billing Tariff program, which offers much lower compensation for exported solar energy.
He is now paying $111.37 per month for the solar lease, but receives only minimal utility bill credits. Over the course of the lease, this could cost him tens of thousands of dollars more than originally represented. The system does not perform as expected because the terms promised were never delivered.
We contacted SunStrong’s legal counsel, but they denied any responsibility for the late interconnection filing and have refused to rescind or modify the lease despite the clear misrepresentation and harm.
This situation has caused significant financial harm to an elderly consumer who relied on the information provided by the company. We are seeking either full rescission of the lease or a substantial monthly reduction that reflects the true value under the Net Billing Tariff program.Business Response

I leased solar equipment with performance clause from Sunpower approxamately 12 years ago. The performance has diminished about 30%. Sunpower Bankruptcy sent letter stating that Launch Servicing is taking over contract with out affecting the terms and conditions of the original contract. Launch has been saying there is no performance clause. So far I owe Southern California Edison about $1400. So, I am paying for a lease and electricity form SCE. Launch has been giving me a run around for 2 months on servicing equipment. I understand there are thousands of homeowners with same problem. As of this moment I need to be reimbursed $1400 and solar equipment repaired or replaced.Business Response

I purchased solar, however the salesmen didn’t tell me the loan was going to be for $86,000 on my 1,200 square foot home. He also didn’t tell me that my solar payments would increase and that I would still pay NV energy. The salesmen said I would pay the maximum of $13/month for NV Energy and my bill has been up to $700 plus $400+ towards the solar loan. I cannot get them to send me the original contract. I am a Spanish speaker, so please call me back with someone that can speak Spanish.Business Response

In 2021, I paid $99 to get enrolled in for an SQL online course. I do not recall taking out a loan to cover the expenses. I was initially setup to pay the school on a payment plan. When it was time to take the course, I was unable to open a zip folder containing the coursework. I reached out to their IT department numerous times as well as the teacher to let them know I couldn’t open the coursework and I eventually called the admissions department to request a refund of the $99 and to unenroll due to this issue. I was told they couldn’t refund the $99 and that basically I had to deal with it because they couldn’t do anything. I tried numerous times to request to be unenrolled due to me not being able to access the folder, but to no avail. I never attended the class and I never accessed the coursework nor did I ever submit any assignments because I couldn’t access the coursework. Launch Services has held me responsible for something I never received services for!!!! I’ve tried disputing this with the credit bureaus and each time it was denied. I spoke with someone at Launch Services today and was told she was submitting an incident report to have someone look into the matter because per her, Launch Services was never notified by the school that I never attended. Launch Services was fully aware that I never attended because I called them directly back then informing them of this. This is pure fraud and it has negatively impacted my credit for the last 5 years!!!! How can I be held responsible for something I never attended or received?! And the amount they are requesting is not the amount I was told the course would cost.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I called Ed2go a week ago and was told I had to be transferred to another dept. I left a message for someone to call me back and no one called me back. They are not trying to cooperate and are very adamant about not reconciling this matter.
Sincerely,

I haven't entered upon nor have I signed any agreement with Launch Servicing LLC related to any loans. I've tried on numerous occasions to have Launch Servicing LLC send a complete and thorough accounting of the aforementioned account dating back to 2007. They keep attempting to change the date the account in question was opened, while simultaneously refusing to provide the necessary documentation of which I have asked for!Customer Answer

Not sure how my personal complaint compares to any "mass marketplace" wording, but this is MY experience with Launch Servicing LLC !! No third party involvement in this dispute, just trying to get some clarification on an item. Are you guys PRO COMPANY or PRO CONSUMER? I thought the BBB represented my best interest in this matterBusiness Response
