I’m filing a complaint against Launch Servicing LLC for continuing to service a solar loan that was fraudulently obtained by ******** Solar through false promises and misrepresentation.
In 2023, ******** Solar rep ****** ***** told me my payments would be $254/month for 7 years, that the system would be nearly paid off by the time I sold my home in 5–10 years, and that it would add equity. He also claimed my electric bill would be $0–$10/month (possibly $30).
All of that turned out to be false. There was no battery backup, so my electric bill is still just as high. The loan was for $53,845.39 over 25 years, totaling nearly $102,000—more than I owe on my home, which is nearly paid off. I told him I was planning to sell my home in a few years, and he said it was a “good investment.” That too was untrue.
He also falsely marked that I had a CO2 sensor — I clearly told him I did not, and I still do not. My home only has fire detectors and no CO2 monitoring, which should have disqualified the install altogether.
I voided the ******** Solar contract after realizing it didn’t match what was promised. But the loan was already processed through Enium, funded by ********* Own Credit Union, and is now serviced by Launch Servicing.
I formally disputed the loan on July 23, 2025, and called again on July 28. Rep Kathy (ID #1*****) said she could not add a note stating I wasn’t responsible for the loan (as that was already on file), but she would notate that phone calls should cease during the dispute.
I also mailed a certified letter. Despite this, Launch continues servicing a loan that was obtained through fraud. I’ve filed complaints with the GA & CA Attorneys General, FTC, and BBB against ******** Solar.
I request Launch Servicing to cancel the loan, respect the formal dispute, and stop all servicing, collections, and future reporting immediately.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because Georgia’s Own Credit Union’s response does not address the core of my complaint.
This is not only a dispute about the actions of ******** Solar — it is a dispute about Georgia’s Own Credit Union’s own loan origination process and the fact that the loan is invalid from the start.
1. Loan should never have been approved
•The loan approval was based on false information, including a CO2 sensor requirement that the sales rep, ****** *****, marked as “met” when it was not.
•This is part of the financing eligibility criteria, which Georgia’s Own is responsible for verifying before funding a loan.
2. Original contract was void
•The original ******** Solar contract was void before this loan was created.
•There was no valid underlying agreement to finance, making the Georgia’s Own loan void ab initio (invalid from inception).
•Georgia’s Own had a duty to ensure there was a valid contract before funding the loan.
3. Georgia’s Own is directly responsible
•Regardless of who submitted the loan documents, Georgia’s Own funded the loan and stands to profit from it.
•As the lender, Georgia’s Own is responsible for ensuring loans are not based on falsified or fraudulent documentation.
4. Evidence available
•I have a 14-minute audio recording from the time of signing in which the sales rep misrepresented the system pricing and promised Georgia Power bills of $10–$50 per month.
•I have documentation of the falsified CO2 sensor requirement and the voided ******** Solar contract.
5. Closing the complaint without addressing the loan’s invalidity is unacceptable
•This is a loan origination issue, not solely a contractor dispute.
•If Georgia’s Own refuses to address the origination failure and the fraudulent inducement involved, I will escalate this matter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division for a formal investigation.
I request that the BBB keep this complaint open until Georgia’s Own addresses the loan’s invalidity and provides a written resolution.
Sincerely,
***** ******Business Response

I am filing a formal complaint against Launch Servicing, which took over my solar panel lease after ******** declared bankruptcy. I am requesting termination of my lease agreement due to breach of contract and failure to provide service or support.
Before its bankruptcy, ******** acknowledged my system was underperforming and agreed to issue a reimbursement. That never happened. Since Launch Servicing took over, I have submitted multiple service requests—both through their Life Event portal and directly with representatives—beginning in January 2025.
To date, no technician has come to inspect the system, and I have received no resolution or meaningful communication. I followed up several times and spoke with a supervisor in May, who promised a callback that never occurred.
Meanwhile, I have continued to make all required payments in good faith, despite receiving no service or performance evaluation. There has been no accountability or attempt to fulfill the obligations outlined in the agreement.
Given the lack of action, I am requesting that this contract be terminated without penalty.
Please consider this letter a formal complaint to your company and to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I reserve the right to pursue other remedies if necessary.Business Response

My name is ***** *****. I attended Flatiron School’s Full-Time Software Engineering program (Jan–Apr 2020). I enrolled under an Income Share Agreement (ISA), which defers tuition unless income exceeds $3,333.33/month. For three years, Launch Servicing has misrepresented my income to unlawfully collect payments I do not owe.
In Dec 2024, I earned $3,189.16 gross—below the ISA’s minimum. Yet Launch calculated eligibility using an unauthorized method: dividing annual income ($40,389.05) by 12 months, resulting in $3,365.75/month. This violates the signed ISA, which clearly uses monthly income only. Their inflated formula triggers repayment fraudulently.
I submitted valid paystubs multiple times. Launch delayed replies, then abruptly switched my status to active repayment without notice. They have used multiple, inconsistent, and unauthorized income calculations (e.g., averaging 4 checks, multiplying by 26). None of these methods are in the contract.
Flatiron has acknowledged Launch’s misuse and admitted Launch doesn’t check income monthly as required. I have documentation of repeated miscalculations, deferred status approvals, and inconsistent communications. Launch refuses to explain their math in writing and avoids written contact.
I request:
A full investigation into Launch Servicing (** *** *****, Sioux Falls, SD 57109) for fraudulent ISA administration.
That Flatiron School intervene and enforce the original, legally binding ISA terms.
That my payment status be reverted to $0/month until I actually earn over $3,333.33/month.
This ongoing misrepresentation violates the ISA and is causing financial harm. I have extensive documentation and am prepared to provide it upon request.Business Response

July of 2024 we had a solar system installed by SunPower, who went bankrupt. SunStrong has taken over SunPower. We have a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The 1st week of April 2025, I noticed a panel not working. I called SunStrong and was told to file a request online, which I did. SunStrong was not getting back to me so I contacted the contractor who was hired by SunPower to put the sys. in. They came out & confirmed it was an inverter not working. They contacted SunStrong letting them know and put in a request to fix it for me and as of today 7/10/25, SunStrong has not returned their call. I have had several conversations & email exchanges, and I'm told "Your system is performing as it should" Ticket is closed! The following verbiage is in the contract:
SunPower promises, We will…
? Insure the System and arrange for its repair and maintenance (including the inverter) at no additional cost to you as specified in the PPA.
This is a simple fix all they have to do is contact the contractor to come and fix it as they are waiting, but can't do it without a ticket from SunStrong. Every time I talk with someone at SunStrong the time frame in which they tell me someone will get back to me gets further and further. Started at 7 -10 days, as of last Tuesday 7/8/25 it's 60 days. The contract clearly states the inverter is their responsibility. They just keep blowing me off, yet collect the monthly payment. My systems is not 100% of what I'm paying for.Business Response

I am submitting a complaint regarding Clasp Launch Servicing LLC, the servicer of my Income Share Agreement (ISA) from General Assembly Bootcamp. This is not a loan, but a contract requiring me to pay 10% of my income only if I earn over $40,000 per year.
I am currently unemployed and enrolled at Boston University. However, Clasp has falsely listed my “Current Annual Income” as $87,059.50, despite the fact that I have no income at this time.
They also requested IRS Form 4506-T, which I completed and submitted. Yet, Clasp has been slow to review it, and they still miscalculated my income. I also provided:
1. Official enrollment verification from the University
2. A 6/25 job application screenshot, since LinkedIn does not show precise dates
Despite meeting the criteria for income deferment under my ISA, they continue to show my status as “In Repayment” and are demanding $725.49/month, with $1,455.98 due by 07/02/2025.
I believe Clasp is mishandling my case, misrepresenting my financial situation, and not honoring the deferment terms of the ISA. I am requesting BBB's assistance in resolving this issue fairly.Customer Answer

I signed a lease agreement with Sunpower Financial on 10/2/2017. Sunpower went Bankrupt and was taken over by SunStrong Management/ Launch Servicing towards the end of 2024. My system does not function properly. I contacted the company numerous times(ticket ************************) since 6/2024 regarding the issues. They have never sent down a technician. As a result my system produced half of the contractually agreed upon amount of solar power.
I have requested a refund based on the contract which states that I am entitled to a refund if the system does not produce agreed upon amount. In addition I am waiting a year for a technician to come and repair my leased system as per our contract. Interestingly, Launch Servicing is requesting $150 monthly from me as per said contractBusiness Response
