I do not understand why this company is so difficult to communicate/cooperate with. We have done everything that they have asked, except pay an exuberant amount of money to get out of something that we are unhappy with. We have explained to them WHY we do not feel as though this is a fair request on their part, and yet every time we turn around it is the exact same. Request for money, we write back explaining our side, they tell us we have to call because they can not discuss over email,we call as they ask, they tell ** that we have to pay. Every time, without fail. That said, the amount they are asking for is nearly $20,000! That is a LOT of money to expect someone to pay in order to get away from it! We are tapped out thanks to this company. We have nothing left to give, and we are being held in this state. We were the ones that were lied to. We were the ones misled by the representative. We are the ones who have lost a large sum of money. How in the world do they still feel so entitled to all that we have left? Which honestly, is nothing! I have to choose a star to submit. If I didn't, I would choose none for how disappointed we are from our experience with this company.

My wife and I came to the Capital Vacations location in ******* (Calipso Cay). Despite the fact that they admitted the units all need renovation (and they do), overall the accommodations were not terrible. They have a decent number of amenities (multiple pools, splash pads, bars, water slides, minigolf, etc.), and the staff seemed friendly. Overall, the resort EXPERIENCE was not terrible. (Although, you are on your own...it is run AirBnB style: No housekeeping, no meals, etc.). If I had rented as a AirBnB, I would have given the resort 3-4 stars due to the needed repairs. So, why 1 star? We went as potential owners. So, let me count the ways that they deserve LESS than 1 star!1. They promise a ****** minute presentation. We were "forced" to stay OVER 3 hours!2. The presentation itself was friendly, but the agent was EXTREEMLY pushy, and when I couldn't (or didn't want to) provide personal info, she became very agitated. 3. The numbers they show you are 100% false. As one who is an EXCELLENT accountant, I was able to keep track of the numbers she was flashing in front of me with precision that she was NOT ready for. 4. The numbers are also incomplete. They will compare how you would spend in 40 years to what you would spend with them in 10 years and pretend that you're saving $$ with them. Or they will show you one set of numbers (the deed price) while COMPLETELY ignoring the maintenance fees, which total $1800/yr above and beyond the price of the deed. I could go on but you get the idea. It's a time-share company and as slimy as them all. BUT, I am writing this review because they try to tell you that they are different and they have "fixed" the slimy timeshare industry. I know there are many nice people who won't see the numbers the way I was able to and will be shocked when they are saddled with a debt and ongoing fees that never go away. I hope I will save at least one person from this company--if so, then my time here was worth it!

We were offered gift cards to listen to a presentation that we were promised would last maybe only 2 hours tops. They offered a "dream vacation" all expenses paid. There were several places, but the best deal was ****** for free if we signed. The value of this vacation was $5000.00. He assured ** multiple times that this package was not a timeshare. Finally, after 5 hours, they offered a package for $8999.00, and we finally excepted it. We were led to believe that this would be over in 10 years. The first person's name was ****, and most of our time was spent with him, The second person, I think his name was *****. He was the one that got ** to agree finally. Then we signed papers and left after over 6 hours! We feel like we were totally scammed. We paid off our loan and feel we have been completely ripped off. Buyer beware.

WE WERE OWNERS WITH ****** ************ IN 2015. WE WERE ASKED TO COME TO A MEETING WITH CAPITAL. AT THIS MEETING WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD THE CHOICE TO STAY WITH ****** OR SWITCH TO CAPITAL. WE WERE TOLD THAT ****** WAS LIMITED, WHERE CAPITAL HAS MUCH MORE RESORTS. WE PAID MORE MONEY TO GET THE SAME CONDO WE HAD WITH ******. NOW WE WERE CAPITAL OWNERS. IN 2017 WE GOT A CALL TELLING ** THATWE WOULD GET A FREE DINNER FOR TWO IF WE WOULD COME TO A CAPITAL UPDATE ABOUT OUR OWNERSHIP. THEY ASKED FOR MONEY TO HOLD OUR PLACE, BUT WE WOULD GET IT BACK AFTER THE UPDATE. IT WAS NOTHING BUT A SALES PITCH. OUR SALES MAN CONVINCED ** TO BUY POINTS FOR THE REASON THAT HE HAD HIS OWN BUSINESS OF FINDING PEOPLE TO RENT CONDOS TO. HE SAID WE COULD MAKE MONEY AND PAY OUR MAINTENANCE FEES WITH MONEY LEFT OVER. IT SOUNDED LIKE A NICE IDEA SINCE WE ALREADY HAD POINTS WE MIGHT NOT USE. WE BOUGHT A NEW PACKAGE OF POINTS . HE GOT ** TWO CREDIT CARDS OF ****** EACH SAYING WE COULD PAY THEM OFF FASTER THAN A MORTGAGE WITH PROFITS FROM SALES. HE ARRANGED ONE 3-DAY SALE, AND WE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. NOW WE WERE STUCK WITH ********* 0F DEBT NOT KNOWING THAT I WOULD BE FORCED TO RETIRE. WE WERE INVITED TO THE NEXT CAPITAL MEETING THE SAME WAY A SECOND ****. AT THIS MEETING, WE WERE TOLD THAT OUR MORTGAGE FROM THE FIRST BUY IN 2015 WAS A MORTGAGE THAT COULDN'T BE PREPAID, AND IF WE DID , WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY ALL THE FUTURE INTEREST ANYWAY. THEY SAID THAT IF I UPGRADED THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO CANCEL THE MORTGAGE GIVE ME EQUITY FOR THE FIRST CONTRACT, AND THE SECOND 2017 CONTRACT. I FELL DEEPER INTO DEBT THAT I COULDN'T AFFORD. THEY ALWAYS MAKE IT SOUND THAT THEY ARE DOING ME A FAVOR, BUT IT IS ALWAYS A "ONE-**** OFFER". THERE IS ALWAYS MULTIPLE SALES PEOPLE. IF IT SEAMS LIKE YOU ARE UNDESIDED, THEY BRING THEIR SUPERVISER OVER WHO IS ABLE TO MAKE A BETTER DEAL, IT'S TOUGH TO LEAVE. MEETINGS GO PAST THE **** THEY QUOTED YOU,THEY TIRE YOU OUT, WE BOUGHT. TOTAL SCAM!!

I tried to talk to the helpdesk regarding getting my name taken off of the agreement that I have with this company. They told me that they do have something available for helping owners out of their timeshares, but ONLY if they have given them all the money that they could possibly give them first. Not to mention, this is something that they try to pass off as being some gift, as they choose to do this. Well, then why can they not choose to do the same for owners who were LIED to and do not want to pay anymore into this scam they are running? It seems fishy that they are only willing to be the good guys once they are paid off. It is a terrible form of customer service. If a customer tells you everything that they have been through, why would you expect them to finish paying you and keep the product? I need help out of this!

***************************************** We spoke to ************** about the fact that Capital closed our account, but continues to tell us that we owe them money. (Makes no sense)... She told us that we needed to reach out to financial services, so we asked for their information. We have STILL heard nothing back. Although, we should not have to contact anyone about this because if we own nothing, then we should owe nothing. How can we continue to pay for something that is not in our name. We need help with this situation soon, because we feel as though we are being taken advantage of here. Capital has tricks up their sleeves, but we wont rest until we see an end officially.

It's nice to see there are other people that have been taken by this shady company. We had dream vacation to ************ and used our ***** and ******* points only to be placed in 1 bedroom unit at Seaside resort that has not been updates since it was open in the 70s. Went to their company meeting and spoke to 3 men about the condition of our unit. ALL PROMISING TO DO SOMETHING. They did nothing but stand around and shoot the s*** with each other oh and avoid us. I also emailed the group that booked my trip their response was there is nothing they can do and offered to return ****** points. This is not acceptable. I also talked to *************************** director of sales. He promised me he would check into this issue and get back to me. As of me writing this I've not heard from him. However this doesn't surprise me. As they wanted my husband and I out of this so called owners meeting so others they were trying to sell to would not hear ** and our complaints. If I could attach pictures of what we were placed in I would.I've never been so upset with a so called reputable time share company. This is what the person came from ******* came to manage? If I could rate it at -1 star I would.I should have never bought into this timeshare.

May 11 they told me that my dates were available for July 2-5 so i went ahead and book it i paid upgrade fee of $200 days he next day i was told be *** the dates I requested are not available and she was insisting different dates i told her it is not going to work with my schedule as this is already a planned PTO. So we agrees on May 12 that i am not pushing through on the July 2-5, **** TOLD ME that they will refund me for the total of $200 that i paid for the hotel during the call that has transpired. After couple weeks i dont noticed/received email that the refund has been processed i called today to make a follow up **** put me on Hold and told me that shes going to check if they have done anything when she went back she was so nice and was told me the dates that i wanted to go were available while speaking on the i also received an email that the booking was confirmed which is technically i did not authorized it. I have cancelled it May 12 we both agreed that i am not pushing we the dates anymore they went ahead and confirmed the booking without confirming it with me first! **** was telling me that she never promised about the refund. I feel scammed! When they told me the dates I initially requested were not available of course the plan we had was canceled too now that i wanted the refund of the upgrade fee that i paid the agent was pushing on my face the refund policy is 30 days from the purchase but this is not for the $299 i paid i paid $200 on top of 299 now that the booking push through without my authorization i need to pay $350/night if i do not show up i am definitely going to get a Lawyer!!!

We were suckered into the presentation by low cost show tickets in *******. The ticket seller told ** we would need to attend a 120 minute, no high pressure presentation. We figured, sure, we can do that for cheaper tickets, since ticket prices are high in *******. We sat through the presentation, then went with our sales person to a table. He presented ** with a loan application. We refused to fill out any paperwork until we knew the prices. So then we went to see a demo model in Stormy Point. It was very nice, almost too nice given what we already knew about timeshare properties. We went back to the table and he told ** the prices. Needless to say, we turned him down. So he lowered the price a few times, but we still said no. We said just give us our tickets and we'll be gone. Then another guy came out with a "survey". We declined to participate, and he said he'd go sit in his office until we were ready to. So rude! We answered his questions, but still refused to sign anything. He badgered us some more, then went to talk to his "manager". Came back with still lower prices and a free trip. We said no. So the presenter came over and tried to talk us into it. We said no. Then Survey *** came back with still lower prices. We said no, just give us our tickets. Finally, he took us to get our tickets. Another guy hollered at us a lower price as we walked out. At that point I had an excruciating headache and just wanted to lie down. We escaped without caving in. But this nonsense about no high pressure was an out and out lie. We also found out that they lied about being #2 in the industry. They're not even in the top 10. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!

We are timeshare owner of *********** ** since ****. Our property is *********** at ********* *******. We never had problems to deposit our units into RCI until Silver Lake was purchased by Capital Vacations in 2022. This year 2023 is the first time to need to deposit our units to RCI through Capital Vacations. I made my request to deposit our **** units into RCI in January 2023 and paid the maintenance fee for ****. The fee was processed immediately. But our units have not been deposited into RCI (4 months after my initial deposit request). I called customer service more than 10 times. I am told that the only thing they can do for me is to request on my behalf. I am stuck.RCI allows ** to use the deposit units one year early. That means we can use **** units in 2023. We are waiting to the units to be deposit so we can book our vacation. Without our units being deposited into RCI, we can not use our units. It is like paying for nothing. I cannot believe Capital Vacations is such a cheater!!!
