1 starIf you are thinking of purchasing a timeshare, reconsider. They promise you everything under the sun while you are in the presentation, but as soon as that paperwork is signed, their service to you is over. They say you can vacation anywhere, but leave out the fact that you have to have a certain amount points or upgrades to go to popular locations. Usually, an outrageous amount of points or upgrade every time you want to use them. They hound you to death on phone calls & fees but are silent when you reach out to them with issues. Buying a timeshare was a big mistake, avoid it at all costsReview fromJoan C

1 starI have had a bad experience with this company personally. More specifically their sales side of it all. The presentation was misleading and I genuinely have not seen much truth from what ***************************, **** and **** all explained to me. Additionally, the financial *************************** was mean to me and during conversations with other representatives I was also met with a rude response. I just want to get out of the timeshare completely, but unfortunately there is no information or contact information on their website. I need help getting in touch with this company so that I can talk with them about thisReview fromJanet B

1 starThe sheer amount of calls per day, even after I said I wasn't interested! All I did was enter a sweepstakes on Groupon and it's been months of harassing calls, no matter how many numbers I blocked. I reported to several state and national bureaus. Glad word is getting around about this awful company. I'll shout it from the rooftops, stay away from Capital Vacations unless you want to be harassed and, judging by the other reviews, robbed.Review fromCynthia H

1 starThe people were very congenial and friendly; However, I felt the business practice was high pressure, and not fully forthcoming. The first purchase salesperson said, this number of points will provide you enough to take a couple of vacations a year. I scheduled a stay, and was asked to stop by the office to check in - there I was put through another sales pitch and was told I didn't have enough points. Each time I used the timeshare, I was not allowed to use it without going through the office for another sales pitch - some of which people said they were not in sales, but they sold the product. The last time, my name had an asterisk by it I was not allowed to go to the room until I had spoken to the non-salesman who said that he would help me to sublet the timeshare. After I signed, he said, I don't do that. leaving me with $20,000+ in maintenance fees plus a loan for more than my mortgage payment each month. I haven't used the timeshare since. Predatory loan practices - they'd approve a loan for the upgrade, then open up a credit card for me for the down payment. They required loan payment from my current credit card, so I paid double interest. There is a clause in contract saying I can afford the payments - but off the record they say, don't worry about it. They also say to include your house value in your income amount on the application. There is no way I can afford this.Review fromAlisa N

1 starI have been dealing with the nightmare of *******'s Harborside Resort and its false representations and unfortunate shady sales practices. I tried to escape my timeshare obligations with them, but they continued to hassle me and give me the runaround. In fact, when addressing my concerns, they tried to sell me MORE! Some of the property that was pitched for our use has actually been sold, so it's not even available for use. This situation has caused me a lot of frustration and stress. I want to alert other potential customers of this company to be wary, so they don't have to go through the same thing that I did.I'm now turning to the Better Business Bureau for assistance in resolving my issue. I need help getting out of this timeshare and will not stand for any further false representation or sales practices. I urge the Better Business Bureau to take action and protect future customers from this company's deceptive actions. Thank you for your help in this matter.*********,******* & *****************************Review fromJoe & Karen J

1 starWe are writing to express our extreme dissatisfaction with Capital. We were scammed multiple times by this company. We are very unhappy with the significant increase in maintenance fees that we've experienced since we purchased the timeshare. We went from paying $70 a month to now over $500 a month due to the purchase of points, which we were informed was necessary to get gold points. This financial burden has caused us major anxiety and has put a significant financial strain on us.To make matters worse, due to unforeseen health concerns, we simply cannot afford the payments. We contacted Capital Vacations to cancel the contract, but we were told that we could only do so after the loan was paid off. How is this fair?! This has left us feeling trapped in a situation causing significant hardship.I must emphasize that we are willing to make a graceful exit and have even offered to return everything we have received, including our original timeshare at ************. We have over a million points!! Surprisingly, we have been met with no willingness on your part to work with us. At this point, we are so stressed over this whole situation that we have been forced to consider filing for bankruptcy just to ease the financial strain. We were led to believe we should expect to have a fun and relaxing way to vacation, but instead, this timeshare has created more stress and financial burden than we can bear. If anyone is considering buying a timeshare, please understand that there are more affordable options for vacation. No matter what they tell you, take it with a grain of salt!!Review fromAngela S

1 starPaid $299 for vacation through this time share while I was at a festival in ***********. The suppose to be manager at the tent told my husband and I that we would get a 4night and 5 day stay at their resort and not have to stay at another hotel then go tour the resort and I told her also we didnt have a major credit card just a debit card and she said that was all we needed. Come to find out when trying to make my reservation through customer service, no we dont get to stay at the resort and we would have go tour it with a major credit card and not a debit card. So the so called manager who sold us this package just completely lied to make a sale. *** done another timeshare last year in ******* and got put in a run down hotel is why I was so hesitant to do another and explained to her what had happened. This lady completely lied to us, so now Im stressing about getting my $299 back which is lot of money. Why do I have to wait almost 2 or 3 days for someone to call me about my refund if they do even call back about it. Im so frustrated being lied too, and I hope to see these sell people again around the *********** area cause I definitely will let them know what kind of headache they caused. I will definitely let people know what a scam this company is??????????Review fromKristina A

1 starI wasnt going to complain about my experience with your company, as we have had multiple frustrating and unsatisfying experiences, until we checked in to our resort today. The first part of the package we purchase was to to ************ for our first experience with your company in order to participate in the presentation about your timeshare. To me, the hotel that your company put us in should be a reflection of the experience and character I would expect we would have with your company if we purchased a timeshare. Well, I was highly disappointed and disgusted by the hotel. There were bugs in the room, the rooms smelled like chemicals, and it was dirty. We then went to your business at ************ to do the presentation and they wont let us come because my mother didnt have her ID as it was at the hotel. No one told us we needed our IDs. So they said they would hold our spot if I ran back to get it. I ran back to the hotel as fast as I could and 2 minutes before I arrived back my husband called me to say they closed the doors and wont wait any longer. Then at the presentation we told the rep the experience we had with the hotel and they didnt do anything about it. Actually, the rep seemed to get upset and became more rude like we were wasting her time. We were given a gift card for the money we paid initial. We were told that we had a year to use it. I used it month 7 after I got it and it decline because it actually expired after 6 months. After numerous calls to your company and the gift card company, I was told that I couldnt get the money back because it was expired. This was so upsetting. We checked in today to the resort we had to pay for even though we were told it was a gift for doing the presentation and were extremely disappointed again with the accommodations. This place is very old and outdated. The room smells, there was hair in the bathroom, the floors are sticky, there are stains on the furniture and there is no Wi-Fi.
