1 starWORST company EVER!!! When you try to go through their portal to CANCEL, they make you call one of their 'tech support' people to finalize the deal.
So, you talk to someone who says they've canceled your contract, but you still receive tons of emails and texts saying you owe them money.
You also receive tons of emails warning you that your domain will expire!
I NEVER used the domains I registered and WANTED them to EXPIRE!!!
This all happened at the worst time in my life. My dog had just had to be put down. I had named my new 'potential' business after her, but then had to deal with her failing health for months.
This company lacks a soul. Their cancellation emails are meaningless!
I had to call Ionos yet again, when their emails kept coming. The Ionos rep said that my cancellation wasn't in the system properly and the only way to fix it was to revoke the cancellation, and then re-cancel. I asked if that would stop the emails and the rep said, "Yes."
The emails kept coming... then texts non-stop.
If you sign with Ionos, you sign into a world of hurt. IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP HARRASSMENT!!Review fromGloria G

1 starDO NOT USE. This company does not care about their customers. A representative told me three contracts would be canceled and not billed any more because she was going to create new contract with better promotions. However, today I am billed for the contract because the representative did not change the affective date like she did on the other two. The company did nothing to understand the situation or help with it. Use a different company who cares about their people. When asked to speak to supervisor I was told no one is taking calls. Worst upper level leadership!!! I would understand if all three were the same affective date. But the representative made a mistake but the company is not willing to fix it. I don't blame her, but upper management who is not willing to correct it.IONOS, Inc.

1 starOne of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. I cant believe they've been in business so long considering the plethora of god awful reviews they have. I decided to try them anyway because the price to performance value looked too good. I couldn't even start the service. I ordered a dedicated server on a 12 month plan for a monthly rate discount. I used a credit card with a limit and availability way exceeding the monthly cost. I didnt get immediate service as they said they had to "review" the order. 36 hours later I got a random email saying my order had been rejected by the "security" team. Security team for what? I am a US based customer, ordering a US based datacenter with legitimate payment and billing. They gave no contact details other than a ***** number in the email. I call and explain, the *** says I need to email security. I explained that, no, the email said to call them. He says oh right and tries to transfer to this mysterious "security" team. I end up in a constant transfer loop talking to the same *** over and over again. 3 separate calls and live agents, someone even gave me a fake email that could not be delivered to. Does this security team even exist? They are denying customers for no apparent reason and cannot be contacted to explain. I guess its not a scam though as i was refunded!! I want to thank them for making me realize i am dodging a bullet by never doing business with this company.IONOS, Inc.

1 starIf I could give it zero stars I would. In the beginning they are very helpful, 6 months in they no longer care about you. I have never had a company that I felt initially tried to irritate me at every turn, but this one does. If you use wordpress, this is not the hosting for you. Everytime you call they will tell you that you need to buy another product of theirs to fix whatever you need fixed, or find a web developer. You are warned if you choose this company, you will lose every bit of patience you ever have had. Every person you speak to is fluent in gaslighting. After the 6 month mark you are redirected and will only get people who's first language is not English and very hard to understand, and if you tell them you cannot understand them those are really great times.IONOS, Inc.

1 starI signed up for a domain with IONOS a year ago. I no longer use the domain and called to cancel right after being charged automatically, the following year for $35. The "Retention Specialist" I spoke with (Mia ** was rude, cut me off while talking and when I asked for a manager, she told me there were no managers or supervisors only her, as if she was the only person in the company. I repeated that I needed to speak to a manager and she asked what for and I repeated that I wanted a refund for the service because I do not need it for another year as I do not use it and she said "there are no managers only me and a higher up is not available and they will tell you the same thing." So which one is it? You have managers or don't you? I actually was looking to start a business email with them but after that experience with their customer service, I would never and do not recommend, I started a case with my Payment company for a refund.IONOS, Inc.

1 starIONOS has been charging me $33.92 for something that I did not knowingly sign up for. When I purchased the hosting through them, I originally only added Wordpress Grow & the domain. I made a call in because after an hour or two of purchasing, I still couldnt access the site. Someone who I had a difficult time understanding added more to my package than I anticipated or requested - as the sites were solely for ***************** and they added a contract for e-commerce & marketing that charges me monthly.Ive talked to multiple representatives & all I get is that its my fault because I signed it - though all I was ever trying to do was get help getting my site running, and they added more to my package.This site is nearly like a scam in the way they cross-sale packages on you when you call in, have you sign for more than you request & dont have much to offer on their platform. I could suggest 3 hosting companies that provide way better support & dont try to dupe you out of your money.IONOS, Inc.

1 starI had a couple servers from IONOS for a couple years for development/staging. Once finally being ready to launch and realizing they weren't sufficient, I attempted to cancel.IONOS offered to allow me to keep the servers at a lower rate if I didn't cancel. I received an email for each contract with the new price and the effective date. 0 mention of an extended contract.Recently, they migrated the primary server. They altered various system configurations and changed a user password. Serial Console would not work. After a lot of back and forth, they blamed "total drive failure" but, the server was up. The main domain was up. SSH would connect, through it's default port - which I had changed!I'm near-certain the add-on IPs were not binding, likely due to the systemd being not being executed, making the other domains fail.The "total drive failure" was actually sdc. A mirror of sda. A backup ... not the main drive. I found this out later, after them emailing me multiple times asking if I had a backup for them .. which I still don't get.They refused to answer any questions about my changed configuration, password or serial console access. The server was down for over a ******* again, I cancelled. This time, for sure. Now, they are claiming that I extended my contract for 2 years.I am asking for proof of this. Where I signed or otherwise agreed. Even their emails only mention the new price and effective date of the price. They may have altered the contract end-date but it doesn't mean I agreed to a whole two years. No matter their view nor if I'm right or wrong, I won't pay for something that I already intended to cancel, they broke, and lied about. Lied. I've been in this business over 20 years. Take this as my opinion but a very strong one. Now they want to try to force me to pay for these for another 2 years.I reset the server through web panel last-ditch. Doesn't support my OS anymore! Charged me after canceling in 2024. 9/15/24: We received your cancellation request for the contract:*****xxx (IONOS WP Business) on 09/15/2024.Canceled again. Refunded. Great. 5/21/25: We received your cancellation request for Contract *****xxx on 05/21/2025. This request has been processed, and your contract will be cancelled on 05/22/2025.6/13/25: "Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your account status. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration caused by our recent attempts to collect payment. We have verified your account information, and it appears that your account has indeed been canceled as per your request. We will ensure that all automated payment reminders and notifications are stopped immediately." 6/27/25: Still sending me emails and texts about how they are owed payment for a product I requested they cancel twice, which they confirmed.Review fromDeMarcus R

1 starI recently signed up for the ******* product and realized I did not want to use the product anymore. When I tried to cancel, there were no options within the website and theres no way to contact customer service or technical support. I tried using the chat feature, however that feature routed me back to square one through the customer service phone line (******* customers are not given credentials to speak to an agent). There is nowhere on the actual website where you can cancel any subscriptions and I find that very misleading, frustrating, and illegal.IONOS, Inc.

1 starBEWARE!!! IONOS IS A SCAM. I forgot to cancel my $1 trial with them and called about 10 days too late. They locked me into a one-year contract (which I didn't even know I had agreed to... it must have been buried in the fine print) and they continue to charge me $12 monthly for a service I never used. They make it extremely inconvenient to cancel at all. You cancel online and THEN you have to call in and sit on call-waiting forever just so you can talk to a sales *** who tries to talk you out of canceling. And no, the *** I talked to didn't mention that I was locked in to a years-worth of payments, still. I found that out when I was charged the next month. I've wasted way too much time talking with customer service (one of their ***s did assure me that I would not receive any more charges, but one month later I was billed again and had to start all over. They said I was misinformed and refused to honor their promise) I might be legally bound but it is clearly unethical for them to continue to charge me when I am not using their services. STAY FAR AWAY from this sketchy company.IONOS, Inc.
