1 starBEWARE!!! IONOS IS A SCAM. I forgot to cancel my $1 trial with them and called about 10 days too late. They locked me into a one-year contract (which I didn't even know I had agreed to... it must have been buried in the fine print) and they continue to charge me $12 monthly for a service I never used. They make it extremely inconvenient to cancel at all. You cancel online and THEN you have to call in and sit on call-waiting forever just so you can talk to a sales *** who tries to talk you out of canceling. And no, the *** I talked to didn't mention that I was locked in to a years-worth of payments, still. I found that out when I was charged the next month. I've wasted way too much time talking with customer service (one of their ***s did assure me that I would not receive any more charges, but one month later I was billed again and had to start all over. They said I was misinformed and refused to honor their promise) I might be legally bound but it is clearly unethical for them to continue to charge me when I am not using their services. STAY FAR AWAY from this sketchy company.IONOS, Inc.

1 starLimited website building feature and the worst customer care representatives on phone!I decided to move away from IONOS this year after staying with them for 7 years, because of their high fees and limited website building features. The formatting, alignment, drag and drop and other features do not do justice to their high monthly fees, especially for my small business.Additionally, every time I called their customer "service" line to cancel my contract, or to follow up on cancellation, migrating my data, emails to the new hosting service, their representatives (in plural - I must have spoken to at least 3 of them if not more) only showed apathy and the WORST attitudes! It's a common theme. Department does not communicate to the other and their representatives take pride about it 'Yeah we don't communicate, what you gonna do?', 'Yeah we have a broken system, so what?' Mockery, laughing at a customer after they frustrate the h*** out of a customer, placing the call on hold indefinitely until your brain is numb from their music and then the call expires and drops off automatically! No clear communication on when the data migration will start after the first cancellation notice is given to them! More than anything else, this takes the cake. I stop autopayment my card and they revoke it and continue to generate invoices and deduct payments! When I call the customer "care", the representative mocks at me and says ' Well you received the invoice right, so you should expect the payment to be deducted!'. And this is a guy from the billing department and tech department and claims proudly that the billing department and cancellation department does not coordinate with each other and their system is broken like that! So what?! I strongly recommend the management at IONOS to listen the recorded calls, and see how rotten their customer care is! Are these guys even accountable to anyone within their company? They are the WORST and the most unprofessional hands down!!IONOS, Inc.

1 starDO NOT WORK WITH IONOS!!! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I signed up for a simple web hosting account for an undergraduate project. Somehow I was then signed up for 3 accounts. After cancelling my accounts through the website I was still charged. They claimed the reason was that they require customers to give a follow up call to their cancellation department to prevent unintended **************** issues only continued as I called and was told all accounts would be cancelled immediately and I would no longer be charged, only to be sent an invoice the next month and told that I was now locked into a 3 year contract as I had missed the cancellation window despite being told by a customer representative that all contracts had been terminated.Moral of the story is avoid this company at all costs!IONOS, Inc.

1 starHorrible web hosting company. They got me with a cheap intro rate, but I didnt like their product. So I did not intend to continue on after the first year. I signed up for one year and paid for the one year and thought it would come to an end if I did not pay again to continue to contract. Oh no they sent me to collections. They have all of their accounts set to auto renew that cannot be changed online. I basically have no way to get out of this contract without sitting on the phone and waiting for them to answer with long wait times. Ive been scammed into a never-ending contract. They admit it in their auto response email to the email address they provide making it appear easy to cancel their service they reply As per Terms and Conditions, all contract are set to auto-renew for business continuity and you have to call in advance if you do not wish to extend your contract and that was what happened. They actually say if you do not wish to extend your contract and that was what happened.? Of course that is what has happened! Clearly, it happens a lot or else you would not include this statement in your auto-reply.I cannot give them zero stats or else I would.IONOS, Inc.

1 starIONOS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! Buyer beware!!! Representative **** ******, on 4/4/25, offered no resolution! He simply stated, theres nothing they could do. I lost my login and needed to gain access to my account. I opted to change the password to have them send a link to my email address to reset. I attempted this many times with no email link sent. I spoke to Gael who left me on hold for a long time, so I hung up. He called back and stated my email mustve had filters or rules to reject their emails sent. I told him I didnt place them there and I certainly get my billing invoicing by email with no problem. I guess he wanted to pass the **** and send me on a fishing expedition to find out what was wrong with my email account when the problem was obviously on their end. Im able to get all other emails. He offered no resolution. I couldnt get access to my own account. Im paying for this service and he offered no resolution. I told him I would escalate to the better business bureau. I called back the same day to file a complaint and spoke to another male rude ***resentative who wouldnt allow me to talk to a manager to file the grievance. He stated because I complained to the BBB the legal team is now involved and I couldnt speak to anyone. He only knew that based on what I told the other *** because the BBB hadnt even assigned a case number to the complaint yet. So these companies are now entities that stand against the customer. They use their technology, algorithms, legal teams, management, and policy think-tanks to build up defense against customers and to maximize profits. They no longer offer excellent customer service, only opportunities to maximize their bottom line. Do as little as possible when it comes to customer service. I've been with ********************** (formerly 1&1) for over 20 years. 1&1 was great, but IONOS is all about profit, not customers. IF THEY TREAT YOU BADLY, CANCEL AND SWITCH COMPANIES. 1 starThings were going okay in my first year with this company. All of a sudden they invoice me for $153 and it was forwarded to collections because Im on a budget and having trouble paying it along with other invoices they piled up on me. I tried calling the debt collection company to settle the debt to see if I can go into a payment plan with them to settle it and left voicemails, they never called me back. I just cancelled two parts of my contract and hope to cancel my whole contract eventually. Those two I was able to do online but I find it shady that you have to call to cancel most contracts after they let you get so far doing it online. I dont ever want to do business with this company again and I dont recommend them to anyone.IONOS, Inc.

1 starLook at the customer reviews on here and that should tell you something?How do they get an A+ by BBB with a 1.19 out of 5 customer rating?********************** is a scam site.They bill you for things you did not order, and then tell you you are in a 1 year contract that cant be canceled until the contract is up (1 year).They are trying to bill me for things I did not order.I have rented servers, had web hosting accounts... for 20 years.I have never been scammed like this by any other hosting company!Don't be fooled by their prices, they will bill you for a bunch of things you didn't order.IONOS, Inc.
