1 starCalled to cancel a shop/site earlier this year (2025) due to promised services never working like TikTok shop integration and ******** integration broken entirely. Worked with support a bunch who told me the integration is broken and they have no *** or plans to fix it yet. This was the only reason I did this site so I called to cancel and was told no problem its cancelled. All of a sudden here we are in November and I see an attempted charge for $380 and call, guess what? Never cancelled. Then they try to get you to keep the account ignoring anything you say prior and only seem to care to keep the account open which is probably why they left it open when I was told it was all cancelled earlier this year. Predatory practices, luckily the card they have is a virtual card and doesnt exist anymore but still... When I called today they were trying to then transfer me all over, etc. This is wrong and the whole calling to confirm the cancellation should be illegal and I think it is, we have seen this with recent class action suits so I don't think this would make it through a class action suit. Predatory and tricky. Cancellations should be SIMPLE!!! and just as easy as opening an account! If I do not need to call to start a site why do I need to call to cancel it??? Did they inform anyone of this when setting up a new site, nope.Review fromRania K

1 starI signed up for web hosting but after being charged, saw that I was signed up for Web Hosting Grow and an E-Commerce contract as well. I called immediately to cancel since I didn't intend on buying these additional services (it was hidden and vague so many people have made this mistake).The guy over the phone told me he would cancel them. The next month, I got a $5.32 for the E-Commerce. I called to see why I was still being charged, and they told me it was because I only asked for the Web Hoisting Grow to be canceled. I told them that was incorrect, and that their service *** assured me both were canceled. Then they told me they would look into it and call me back. I never got a callback, and then there was another $5.32 charge the month after (I thought the guy over the phone canceled it and was only calling me back to see about crediting the $5.32 which I did not care about).This time they told me they could not release me from the contract. But that does not make sense because they canceled the Web Hosting Grow. They basically told me there's nothing I can do. So long story short, they knew what they were doing and are trying to stick me with that 12 months of that $5.32 even though it's clear that their ***resentative either made a mistake and did not remove the E-Commerce, or this is a game they play with people. 1 starHow can these people possibly have an A+ rating?! I signed up for their web design service, they charged me $250 immediately, scheduled a call for 10 days later, then didnt call. I called cust svc, got a vague "I will have her call you back" response. No call. I got the same cust svc *** when I called again, had to explain all over again, as she acted like we hadnt spoken 30 mins earlier. An hour later I got an enail asking if I would be available in the afternoon, their system was down and outbound calling was difficult. I said 1pm would work and gave my contact info. . No confirmation of 1pm, no call at 1pm. I called to cancel and get a refund, got xfered and hung up on after a long hold. Called back and got the direct number to cancel. He said they had no notice of system trouble and canceled my contract. 2 hours later, the design engineer finally called begging me to reconsider and again saying their system trouble caused difficulty in outbound calls acting as if I was being unreasonable. WOW! They canceled, but I got no refund and 2 weeks later invoiced me a $47 monthly fee for the website they had taken down. I canceled on the site, had to "call to confirm cancelation" and was told I had a year contract. After much to do, that was canceled, I received confirmatuon of cancelation, and wouldnt you know they charged me anyway.. BEWARE THE *****Review fromTami J

1 starThis company kept signing me up for services I didn't agree to and charging my credit card every month. 1 starDon't use IONOS... They sent me to collection for $25. Because I didn't want service ********** better! If you can't retrieve the funds you cancel the service as subscription based! No difference than any other subscription provider. Don't Pay, Lose Access. Simple!Review fromJennifer B

1 starI attempted to cancel my Ionos subscription for a website hosting domain ($18.95). I tried everything online to cancel this. The website took me in a circular fashion. At one point I tried to upgrade in order to get to another screen where I could cancel the subscription. They had no Helpdesk support. I received no indication of additional billing for the subscription and the service terminated. Next thing I know, I am receiving a collections notice. I have never received one-- I'm 55 and have a 800+ credit score. I also work for a tech company and so I am not stupid about these things. It was impossible to cancel and this is, I believe, against the law to make it difficult for people to cancel recurring subscriptions. This was a horrible experience with a horrible company. I have many ongoing subscriptions (25+) and do not have any issues with these companies. Ionos is engaging in deceptive practices. And to send someone to collections for a subscription service is insane. They should just cancel the service. I will also note, I did not receive ANY communication from Ionos that there was an outstanding bill after I tried and failed to cancel. When cancelling, they sent me to a page where I got a "please don't leave, here is a deal" button. I clicked on that just to try to cancel as I was in the above mentioned circular process. And still no place to cancel and I just didn't approve the finalization of that link, nor update billing info, and still they didn't cancel and are instead showing me as approving (but never paying for) that service. This is a horrible company!I have sent them to BBB and awaiting the *** to reopen from the shutdown for another formal ************ NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Review fromTyler F

1 starI created a website on this platform for my company. I'm not a developer and self taught. I created a fantastic website and my company wanted control of the login and domain. after speaking with IONOS I was concerned I would not be able to edit the site and make changes as I needed to because they could not assign an additional login to the account. ********************** advised they could set me up on a developer account and I would still be able to edit the site, SQL, and manage databases that way. It worked for two weeks and then they canceled my access. I tried for two months to get this fixed through emails and phone calls. No one was able to assist and not one email was responded to. I called and told them i needed that access like they said they would give me and now they are telling me they will not give me that access. Now i have a site online that I am unable to manage. **************** is terrible and while they did a good job at the start, everything since then has been a nightmare.

1 starIONOS have been collecting my funds of $72.00 for a professional website for the past 8 months. Till this day, I have not received my professional website. Every time I try to cancel my contract, I was told that my website is complete. Before, when I had an issue, I could file a complaint against IONOS. Now, BBB has removed the ability for any one to file an official complaint against IONOS. In addition, IONOS has a A+ rating on BBB when they know IONOS is taking advantage of us customers. If any one is filing a class action lawsuit, please reach out to me. I have saved all the emails about IONOS.
