We ordered replacement windows in 2009 with Power Home Remodeling and since that time several windows have failed leaving a haze in the window panes. The windows are covered by a lifetime warranty and we used this warranty on 3 occasions now to replace the failed windows. The first 2 experiences replacing the windows were done in a reasonable amount of time. The latest round of replacements (8 panes) were ordered in July 2021 and we were given an 8 month window for the replacements to be completed. We are now going on 15 months and after many phone calls, nobody at the company is able to give us an estimate of when the replacements will be delivered and installed. We have asked to speak to a manager and were promised that the company would reach out to the manufacturer and get back to us with an estimate. We have still heard nothing back and several of the windows are now in bad shape. We are looking to resolve this issue by having the company replace the failed windows as required by the warranty as soon as possible.

      Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.

The replacement window sash order for your home was placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for the order to be completed and delivered.  Unfortunately, because of raw material shortages, labor shortages and logistical constraints that both our manufacturer and their suppliers are experiencing, lead times on manufactured parts have extended beyond what we are typically accustom to.  Furthermore, these lead times are rarely consistent and can make predicting completion dates for a particular order very difficult.  It is for these reasons that the order for the replacement sash is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in Philadelphia.  While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.

At the present time your order is scheduled to be delivered to our local office in Philadelphia later this winter.  As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.

      Thank you,

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This is the same response I have received from this company for more than half a year.  After waiting well beyond the original estimate, I was told by the end of this summer, then no later than fall and now late winter.  While I understand there is some issues with materials the time it has taken to replace the window panes is unacceptable.  Also, the fact that I have now had to use this warranty three times and have essentially had to replace every window pane that was originally installed speaks to the quality of this companies products.  At this point I feel they should fully replace the windows completely since we were told last time we called that the lead time for new windows was only a few months.  What is the point of a lifetime warranty if it takes a year and a half to fulfill?  I would not recommend using this company for any home improvements projects to anyone.

      Regards,

      Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.

The Roofing Prepare Your Home form that Power presented to you prior to the roofing installation is attached.  It clearly indicates that Power is not responsible for any existing gutter protection system installed on the home, which you initialed next to before signing the bottom of the form.  This is indicative of the fact that Power advised you that Power does not sell, install or service gutter protection of any kind and the existence of your gutter protection system may be effected by the installation of the new roofing system.  Further, on page three of your sales agreement under Contractor's Responsibility it indicates that you as the homeowner understand that certain preparations need to be made for the roof installation and that you were made aware of those preparations.  Those preparations, which included the removal of there existing gutter protection system, were not made.

Power, at it's own expense, attempted on several occasions to service the gutter protection system, that was not sold or provided by Power, that Power advised be removed and re-installed by the contractor that originally installed it, else the new roofing system would interfere with it.  This was above and beyond what Power was contractually obligated to do.  Unfortunately, the gutter protection system could not be made effective.  Power will unfortunately not be able to reimburse you for the cost of the new gutter protection system that you had installed on your home.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/23/2022

      Good morning,

As you have indicated, and as Power indicated prior to your roofing installation, Power does not sell and install any kind of gutter protection and does not possess intimate knowledge of all of the available gutter protection systems on the market.  This is why Power recommended that the gutter protection system be removed prior to the roof installation and re-installed later by the company or contractor that you originally purchased it from.  This was reviewed with you at the pre-installation inspection on 11/30/2018, prior to the roof installation on 1/9/2019, and asked you to initial and sign a document indicating you understood.  That document is attached.

Despite this, Power has continued to try to rectify the concerns with the gutter protection after the roofing installation in a good faith effort.  However, Power can not continue to do so.  As we recommended, please reach out to the company or contractor that originally supplied and installed the gutter protection system on your home so that they may correct any issues with it.

      Thank you,

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the gutter covers were in good operating condition prior to the roof installation, then the only problem was the misalignment caused by the roof installation that caused the gutters to overflow in several areas. Their installers confessed after the third attempt to correct the problems that they did not have the skill to correct the installation errors that caused the gutter misalignments!! Power Co. should bear a portion of cost due to their inept installation around the gutters!!

I purchased windows, siding and shingles from this company (previously Power Windows and Siding). The Soffits, windows, and capping throughout are pealing chunks of Vinal. In addition, several windows have lost their gas seal and have become difficult to see through. They claim that replacements for the windows are ordered but will take possibly a year or more. The service to replace/repair the Vinal has been scheduled 4 times approximately 4 mouths apart. The first time, the repairman came 4 hours late of his appointment and only after numerous calls. He informed me that he only had time to measure and cut materials for the job. He would leave the parts in my care but could not be rescheduled for 4 months. Four months later, he did not show at schedule appointment, and I was not notified by the Company. After repeated calls to the company, a repairman showed up later in the day to inform me that the job was understated to him, and he could not do it. He rescheduled 4 months later (the soonest he said was available). Today is the rescheduled day, 10/122022. the repairman is a no show. The company did not call prior to reschedule. But after I called, they informed me that it was rescheduled for Dec 1. 11:30 - 12:30 This again is not enough time for the job. I have talked till I am blue in the face. I have been apologized and lied to more times than I can count. The material cut for the job will be taking up space in my garage for almost a year. Yes, I have talked to upper management with still no effect.

Currently, the service to repair the siding is scheduled for 11/9/2022.  The service is scheduled for ample time to complete the service, not one hour.  We apologize that the service concerns have not been rectified to this point, the August service appointment was indeed scheduled for too little time and the appointment on 10/12/2022 had to be rescheduled due to a death in the family of the Installation Manager scheduled to be at your home that day and the unavailability of another Installation Manager who would be able to complete the service in their place.
We look forward to having everything resolved for you on 11/9/2022.

I have been trying to get my windows replaced under the lifetime warranty for over 18 months. Power Home Remodeling changed to a different manufacturer after we purchased the windows. The quality of the old windows is very poor. The constantly look dirty. At this point I would like the windows replaced with the newer product or a refund. I have contacted the company multiple times. Date of purchase 4/22/10 The total price was $16,919.00

Power completed my siding on my home the first week of September. After review of the job, I was promised a refund in the amount of $1000. I resigned paperwork stating that the refund was due. On 9/22 I was told I would receive my refund in 7-10 days and if not received by 10/3 to notify the company. On 10/3 there was no check. I called/texted the company only to find out my check was not processed and it was in que. on Thursday 10/6 I was assured my check was being mailed and I would have it today, 10/11. No che k arrived. After speaking with Mike C*********, the VP, he stated it was in que, and could not guarantee when my refund would arrive. This is incredibly unacceptable. I paid for a service that they fraudulently stated was completed and it was not. I settled for $1000 refund and I do know I can probably sue for much more.

I have Siding, Trim and Gutters replace by Power Home starting on 8/30. When They finished the job in three days, they left a dumpster on my drive way for over a month now. I have contacted they every week since. When I call them, they always said they will contact the dumpster provider and have it pick up within a few days, but the dumpster is still here taking up most of my parking area and blocking my garage over a month after. I try to call **************** which who own the dumpster, but they would not work with me and not giving me any information on why they not pick up the dumpster.

For projects where removal of old asbestos material is required, a manifest of waste material is required before the dumpster can be picked up and removed from the property by the dumpster hauler.  Unfortunately, this manifest was not created and left with the dumpster, which caused the delays in picking up the waste material, and for that we are very sorry.  A representative from Power's dumpster broker returned to the property on Wednesday 10/12/2022 to provide a manifest and the dumpster is scheduled to be picked up by the end of this week.

My husband and I agreed to have our Siding Done on July 6th through July 13th. We were told that a dumpster would be dropped off on July 6th and that the siding would be started on the 7th of July and be completed on the 13th of July. The dumpster did not arrive until the 7th of July and the work was not complete until July 29 at which time I received a Siding/Trim Completion Certificate that I never signed, I replied to the email and asked Power Home Remodeling to provide me with the paperwork to review and asked for an itemized list of all the materials and everything that was done to our home in order to verify it. see email attached. Then to my dismay a piece of the siding fell on the back of our home, we called to find out when they could come our and fix it. We were told that the next day they would come, I took time off of work to wait for them to come and repair the siding, no one showed up, so I contacted ***** at ************ he said he would send someone out the following Thursday. They came to the house the worker explained to my husband that he did not have the tool he needed and would need to come back the next week. He finally came back and did fix the back of the ********* text ***** on 09/19/2022 and told him the trim was falling above the garage door, I asked for him to have a worker come out and fix it. He never responded back to me. So I called ************ and spoke to someone there whom instructed me to email ************************************* with the project number 35-84315 and that someone would get back to me. So on 09/19/2022 so I did then again on 09/28/2022 along with photos of the siding falling on top of the garage door. And again on 09/28/22 only now with more siding falling on top of the center of the house and then again 10/06/2022 with more damage on the siding coming completely out of the side of the house. The siding looks to be buckling and pushing out pictures are all attached in each email. I want an inspection and resolution.

Me and my wife purchased new siding and new attic insulation from Power Home remodeling. We had a sales person come out to us and made the sale on February 8th 2022. The sale was for the amount of $55,790.06, this would include new siding on the house and garage, attic insulation install, a new front door with installation new shutters, and gutter and spouts. They said the project timeline would be around 90 days. We booked the installation and material drop dates and times during the Pre-Installation inspection on the 14th of February. This is where the issues started. - Attic insulation crew did not show up on scheduled time, rebooked. - Attic crew shows up on the wrong time and leaves. Rebooked months out.- Trim around windows not the color we asked for during sales meeting - Siding crew broke internet cord and didn't let us know - Project specifications unclear, "Asbestos removal" but did not remove asbestos - Didn't install or deliver window shutters until we asked for it - Gutter and spout installation crew enter and installed the spouts when we were not home without permission - Called multiple times and was promised call back but never got it - Failed city inspection - Fixed some issues but not all, spout still not fixed even after phone calls and email conversation - Stopped replying to email about fixing the last issues - Started taking payments before project was done even though they said they would not - Still have not passed inspection They have never tried to find a solution, it has been their way or no way. They promised to follow the "Customer bill of rights" (attached) which they have not, on multiple points. Project number is ********

      Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.

Power's local office in Denver was in contact with you with regard to the final inspection and the concerns with the gutters.  The final inspection has not been finalized because on more than one occasion, when the inspection was scheduled and the representative from the building department arrived at the home, no one was there.  Power understands that you no longer live at the home full-time, however the building department will need to coordinate a date and time that you will be at the property to complete the inspection.  At this same time, Power's local office attempted to schedule the repair requested to one downspout, however Power never received confirmation on the date and time.
If you wish to have the downspout repaired, please reach back out to Power's Warranty Service department at the phone number below and a representative would be happy to assist you.
      Thank you,
