I originally contracted Power Remodeling in 2021 to place vinyl, gutters and soffit on my 3 story multi-family home in Woonsocket RI. In October of 2021 the company provided the service above. During the process of removing the old exterior wood paneling off home there was a fire and part of the outside of the 1st floor apartment was damaged as well as the deck. They replaced 2 windows and I replaced the deck out of my own pocket. Moving forward to May of 2022 we had a storm and on the left side of the home on the third floor the soffit started to fall off. I called Power on 5/24/21 to address the soffit falling off third floor. Spoke to ***** at *************. Set up appointment to come reinstall. Next available appointment was October 21st. Between 10 and 11am. Day and time came around and no one showed up and no one called me to let me know no one was coming. Called Power in the afternoon of October 21st. Spoke to a male warranty customer service representative they told me I had been rescheduled to November 3rd at 2:30 pm due to a scheduling conflict and someone should have reached out to me (no one did). Called me 11/2/22 (****) want to push off to February 11th, due scheduling conflict again. Left VM and changed my appointment without speaking to me personally. I called back a few hours later and spoke to ******* and explained that they had already rescheduled me multiple times and this is unacceptable because I live in New England and winters are bad and I don’t want animals entering the area that is not protected. She told me they have no waiting list already and that they had already cancelled my appointment and there's no way to fix it. Asked for supervisor, got attitude that they cant speak to me right now and will be in touch in 24 hours. When I asked if there is anything else I can do, she said no. Told I would contact BBB and was hung up on. Paid about $75000 for this and it was damaged/falling apart 7 months later. This is unacceptable.

I purchased windows from Power Home Remodeling. The windows have a manufactures life-time warranty. Some of the windows have already been replaced once and have went bad for a second time. For some reason the seal breaks between the panes and the windows fills with an orange gas that you can't see clearly through. Everytime I need windows replaced I wait longer and longer to get new ones. I have now been waiting 2 years for replacement windows and while I wait others are going bad. I paid a lot of money for 13 windows and I expect to be able to see out of them. If Power Home is using a defective product and continue to use the same defective product I will never be able to see out of my windows. I do not have the money to replace my windows with better quality ones from a more reputable company. I just want what I paid for; good insulated windows that I can see out of.

      Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.

The replacement window sash order for your home was placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for the order to be completed and delivered.  Unfortunately, because of raw material shortages, labor shortages and logistical constraints that both our manufacturer and their suppliers are experiencing, lead times on manufactured parts have extended beyond what we are typically accustom to.  Furthermore, these lead times are rarely consistent and can make predicting completion dates for a particular order very difficult.  It is for these reasons that the order for the replacement sash is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in Philadelphia.  While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.

At the present time your order is scheduled to be delivered to our local office in Philadelphia later this winter.  As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I understand about delays in supplies and manufacturing, but it's been 2 years with bad windows some of which have already been replaced once.   Power Home Remodeling is still selling windows and completing new customer installations.  They have had salesmen at my door a few times.  If they could not get product they would be out of business.  If the problem is with the manufacture then Power Home should replace my windows with windows made by another manufacture.  The windows they sold me were crap in the first place and should not be failing like they are for a $1,000 a window.  While I wait for the manufacture delays I have other windows going bad.  I'm just wondering if I'll be going through this for the rest of my life or if they will ever get it right.  One of the features that sold me on the windows was the life-time warranty.  Joke right.

      Good morning,

The product warranty offered with your window project is offered and upheld by the original window manufacturer, not Power.  Power is partnered with several window manufacturers, all of whom are dealing with similar challenges that cause delays in manufacturing and shipping, however some are more effected than others.  The only company that can fulfill a service request under warranty for your windows is the original window manufacturer.  We continue to work with them every day to expedite service sash orders, reduce the backlog of service product and get replacements installed in our customers homes.  We appreciate your patience and will be in contact with you as soon as your replacement sashes are manufactured and delivered.

On Tuesday 10.18.22 Power home remodeling came to my residence after we entered into an agreement to replace our Roof and gutters. The job was performed and competed the same day. However, At the end a representative of Power Named Ken (Kenny) told my wife and I that our Side trim wood was rotten and if we placed new gutters on these, we risk them to fall off. View a picture he showed up of rotten side trim wood we although reluctantly agreed to add this new job just because Ken was adamant that We would have to eventually back track to resolve this rotten wood issue. This adding work added another $3,763.30 on top of our $14,000 for the original work of roof and gutters. Ken scheduled this for 10.27.22 and said we did not have to be home for this job. Turns out on t0.27.22 I was home and saw the work done. Not once did I see any wood removed and tossed out or new trim board added to my home. I asked the worker who spoke only spanish, and he informed me that he did not need to replace any wood because everything looked good in his opinion. When I called Ken to question him about this, he said he would call his "Foreman" which I was right next to and he never received a call. But Ken called me back saying he was told by the foreman that they pressure treated the wood so everything was fine. None of this ever happen, and apparently pressure treating the wood means nailing it to see if it holds according to ken. He offered to reimburse me the wood which was $700. I want to corrected, I did not need an additional $3763 in cost. Ken knew and his crew and they just used this to upsell me and my family.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.

Please see the attached project specifications page from your most recent project.  The most recent trim project was contracted for the replacement of fascia capping, new soffit and sixty feet of complimentary wood replacement.  Your remodeling consultant did not charge for the wood replacement, if necessary, and only charged for the replacement soffit on the front and all of the fascia capping on the house, hence the line item being denoted as complimentary in the contract.  Because no wood replacement was deemed necessary, that portion of the work was not performed, however it does not effect the total price of the project since it was complimentary.  The remainder of the project was completed as contracted and therefore the project price remained the same.  There is no refund that would be appropriate in this instance, the contract was fulfilled.

The previous owners of my home filed a warranty issue due to a broken seal on a bay window on or about March 2021. I closed on the home October 1. At the closing table the former owner submitted a letter from PowerHome dated 9/10/2021 that the item is backordered. I called to move the warranty to myself now the current owner. I was given a date of June 29, 2022 for the replacement window. I heard nothing from Powerhome, so I called to confirm the install time/date and was told by phone that it was scheduled. I took off from work 6/29/22. One hour before the appointment I was called and told the window had not yet come in. If that were true, why did they confirm the appointment? I was given a new date of October 31. bwt 1 and 2pm. I again called to confirm the appt. and alerted them to make sure (since they did not show up previously although the appt. was confirmed). The service man arrived 30 minutes late today and alone. I had to help him do the work, but I finally have a new window. While installing he discovered an adjacent window that also needs repair and said he would file the needed replacement We shall see how long that will take. I am leaving the report here for others to see what happened, as well as the now new replacement journey for the adjacent window. Hopefully, there will be no need for another report.

As you have stated, the replacement window sash that was on order for the project at your new home was replaced on 11/1/2022.  At that time, a second window sash was found to be defective and an order for a replacement was placed at that time.  As soon as the new window sash for your project is manufactured and delivered to Power's local installation office in Long Island a Warranty Service representative will be in contact with you to schedule a service to replace it.

I reached out to Peter T****** from the warranty dept on 9-15-21 regarding a failed seal issue with a window that was installed through Power Home Remodeling. I was told to send pictures, which I did. I was told the window was covered under the warranty and they would start the process to replace it. I also suggested someone from the company come out and check because I noticed the same problem with 2 other windows. It is now over a year later and it has still not been resolved. I was told it typically takes 1 year. Meanwhile my big picture window looks terrible.

In 01/2020 I met with Power, the Sales guy was really nice. We planned on a 6/20 install of my siding. Powers project would start following renovations in 3/20 bc we would be putting new windows, adding a sliding doors. Covid 19 Hit & my main contractor doing the renovations said he didn't feel comfortable starting. In June the Salesman from Power called to see if I was ready to start & let me know that a PM would be contacting me to start planning. I told him "The renovation never got started & we should push back until it starts so I know where all the windows are going in" He told me "No Problem, we will start the project now & when you get the work done we will come back & fix anything that needs to be done" 6/20 the project started I mentioned to the PM that we would be adding windows in a certain areas asked how hard would it be to fix it from their end and he said "no problem, probably will just need new flashing maybe pieces will be damaged but its easy" At this point I feel completely confident. The team from power churns through the project everything is good no issues. It took me a very long time to find a contractor to do the work in my house but in 5/22 I found someone. Once they cut the holes I called Powers customer service # got a very rude person who said "they don't do that, & you ruined your warranty & '**** out of luck'" Called again, warranty said "It's not our policy & hung up on me" In 6/22 I ended up going to the office in Melville, NY met Kyle B told him what happened & he said he would help & apologized. He called someone in front of me & scheduled someone to come look, they did, he gave me the ext for install to follow up. Since, I have called install over 30 times being told "Someone will call me back, this is a unique situation" it is Oct I went back saw Kyle he called and someone would call with a plan. This week via text I was told "Bosses stuck on ****"

      Good morning,

The sales agreement and project specifications that you and Power's remodeling consultant both signed outlines the scope of work that the original contract and the original project price was to cover and also makes clear that the scope of work described therein is the entire agreement.  The work you are requesting is in addition to what was originally sold and performed by Power and therefore was priced accordingly.

I am sure we covered this in an earlier message, but this is NOT a warranty claim, this IS part of the sales process. This update to the existing work was part of the original scope and was noted in multiple areas of the original sales documentation and project plan. So this very much WAS part of the original agreement, plan and should have been done without all of this hassle.

I have had to physically go again to the Farmingdale NY location due to the fact that no one responded to me, and talk to the VP sales for the 6th time. When asked again if all the notes about this was in the file, I was told yes they were and this was from a salesman who misspoke. This was also confirmed as “this could be from someone making a sale, but I can’t say for sure”

After that conversation we have a date to get the work done but we have to pay an additional $5,500. Which makes its over $30,000 for siding for not a large house.

I would love to hear someone from the corporate sales side as to why this was not honored even though this was clearly part from the start.

      Thank you

Power Installation Managers were on-site in 2018 to review the garden bay window installation that had been recently performed.  The garden bay window is installed properly and completely sealed to protect the home from the elements, however there is extensive cracking in the brick veneer above, below, and around the garden bay window.  This is the source of the water infiltration that you are experiencing at the home.  Power advised you to have a mason address the brick with the expectation that this would resolve the issue.  Power has not heard from anyone living at the home since September of 2018 and can not confirm independently if those repairs have been completed or not. A Power representative will be reaching out to confirm the repairs to the brick have been completed.

Photos of the pre-existing damage to the brick are attached.

Power home Remodeling installed windows in our home. They were hired by previous owners. The warranty transferred to us when we purchased the home. The windows installed have now failed twice. The seals fail and the interior coating becomes discolored and have condensation. The first time the windows with issues were replaced quickly. This time we have nearly every window in our home failing. I called them almost 2 years ago requesting replacement. They have failed to replace them and the windows can hardly be seen out of now. One they did replace is defective and will not latch or close completely. We have called on multiple occasions and each time the tell us the sashes are on order. Now we are losing money from the unlatched window and cold air entering the home.

I purchased windows for the first floor of my home from Power Remodeling to be installed on September 7th. On the 7th, a crew showed up to install all the windows except for the picture window which they informed me the morning they arrived they would need to schedule that window install separately (originally it was all to be done together). It is now October 25th. Today would be the third confirmed appointment (NOT including September 7th) that we had scheduled for the picture window installation as well as re-caulking the windows they installed on Sept 7th because of how unprofessionally it was done (appointments were Oct 14th, 20th and today, the 25th). No one showed up for the third appointment in a row, and no one called me on any of those days. Each time I called I was either given another appointment with an apology or told I would be given a call back. No one has ever called me back regarding these three missed appointments. I took three days off of work for these appointments and as of right now, two phone calls in today, I do not have an answer as to why no one showed up for the third time, if someone is still coming, or if they need to reschedule yet again. During the initial installation on September 7th, I documented window frame damage as well. All of this was documented and photos sent to Power Remodeling. At this point, I wonder if I will ever get the picture window installed and the original install reworked to be professionally done. It doesn't sound like the crew and dispatch are in contact with each other as each time I called for an appointment they no showed, the dispatch team had not heard from the crew and could not get in touch with them. Power Remodeling should finish the work that was agreed upon, fix any issues and at this point quite honestly should be refunding me a portion of the cost for all the time that was mismanaged and wasted.

The final window was installed on 10/31/2022.  There are a few outstanding concerns that are scheduled to be resolved on 11/12/2022.  We look forward to having the project finished for you then.

This business installed a scratched bay window, along with several other installation issues but those they corrected. They have scheduled and re- scheduled the replacement window several times. After calling them back to confirm 10/26 as the new date, they just called to say since I never called back they are rescheduling until April!!!

The bay window was provided and installed is functionally sound.  There is a scratch in the glass of the center picture window portion that Power has acknowledged needs to be replaced and replacement glass has already been ordered.  Currently, you are scheduled for the first available date and time to have that glass replaced to resolve the cosmetic issue.  As the local office in Long Island indicated to you when they spoke to you on 10/25/2022, they are working on the availability of their service staff in order to accommodate your service sooner and if alternative arrangements can be made a representative will be in contact with you to confirm those changes.

      Thank you,
