1 starI recently ordered a special occasion dress from Light in the Box and was very disappointed with the fit of the dress. It was inexpensive (which should have been my first clue). Never did I realize that to get a refund, I would have to send it back to ***** at a cost of $32! Definitely would NEVER order from them again and would certainly NEVER recommend them!Light In The Box

1 star******! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS ONLINE STORE! ESPECIALLY FOR AN IMPORTANT EVENT. On April 4, 2025, I ordered 5 dresses for my mothers 90th birthday party so she could try them on and only keep one dress to wear. I NEVER order from companies that dont have a 30 day return window but when I checked they did. I was given an estimated arrival date of April *****. But then I got an updated email with a new arrival date of May 5-11 which was well past the date of her ******* birthday event. 2 arrived before the event and the other 3 arrived after. But here is the problem--ALL of the dresses DID NOT look like the photos at all. They were cheaply made with fabric different from the dresses in the photos, little strings of material hanging off of the dress, poorly stitched zippers and irregular seam lines. They were EXPENSIVE but made with poor workmanship, the cheapest material and obviously photos lifted from reputable sites which is the models have no heads. Thank God I ended up getting my moms dress at Macys! But when I emailed customer service to return the dresses, it resulted in tons of emails with offers to accept partial refunds and notification that other dresses were custom made" and not refundable. Because I would have to ship to *****, it would cost as much to return them as what I paid for them. I wish I had read BBB reviews before ordering from this company. They make it look like returns are easy. But their policies are deceptive. 1) they have very small print on some dresses that say custom made in the lower left corner. Those dresses which are obviously NOT custom made, are NOT returnable. 2) they already know its too expensive to return to ***** so they have no intention of honoring returns. This company makes cheap, awful knock-off dresses and knows you wont be able to afford to return them. This is false advertising! They should be shut down! I will never order from this company again.Light In The Box

Here is my response after the supervisor offered me 50% off of ONE of the dresses with the following statement "A refund of 50% of the item price ****** USD and you do not need to return the product to us." Here is my response: Dear Supervisor,Thank you for your email. However, your offer is unacceptable. I am writing back to you to go more into detail and file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with your company.Due to the poor quality of the dresses and the false advertisement, I am requesting a prepaid shipping label and address to send all five of the dresses back to you and to receive a 100% refund in the amount of USD $656.06. If you do not want me to return the dresses, the only other option I will accept is an 80% refund of that total amount.If we cannot agree, then I will go also to Trust Pilot, Yelp and other review forms and post my complaint along with the photos and pursue further action. I have attached photos as proof of of the poor quality of your dresses and false ****************** is my complaint. On April 4, 2025, I ordered five dresses for my mothers 90th birthday party so she could try them on and only keep one dress to wear. I NEVER order from companies that dont have a 30-day return window, and I verified that you did before placing my order.I was originally given an estimated arrival date of April 2327. Because I would have to ship the items to *****, the return shipping would cost as much as the dresses themselves.I wish I had read BBB reviews before ordering from this company. Your return policy is deceptive.1. You place very small print in the lower left corner on some product pages that say custom made. These are NOT custom-made dresses, yet they are non-returnable.2. You knowingly make it cost-prohibitive to return items to *****, effectively ensuring that customers cannot follow through on returns.This company is selling cheap, awful knock-off dresses and using deceptive advertising practices. Because you are in ***** and its too expensive to ship to you, it is clear that you never intended to honor your return policy. They make it impossible to return anything so they can make money off bad business practices. 1 starI echo the same review as a previous one. If I could give them zero stars I would. The items took a long time to arrive. Both of the dresses I ordered was polyester instead of cotton. One dress had black dye marks all over it and the other dress I could not get it over my head to try on. This is a horrible place to order from. I was also unable to get a refund because they don't offer QR codes nor shipping labels. It would cost more to return them than what I paid for them. I received my credit for the wrong dress that was delivered. A refund was not an option until I raised a fuss though.
