we installed gutters in the house, the job was done in correctly and now water in entering my garage. the owner of the company has refused to fix the gutters.i don't want money back I just want the job to be done correctly. they place the gutters on the facial where it should of been place lower all around the house, we have contacted to to fix it but they have denied any wrong doing and refused to do the job.Business Response

I've had issues since their system was installed 4 years ago. I have to argue the same thing every time I call. They claim I have to many trees around my house.... the trees aren't new and they were there when the salesman came and the system was installed. I was promised 6 free gutter cleanings a year but now they say they won't even do that. I have to pay them for that because the actual gutter isn't clogged. That's because nothing can get into the gutter. Their system works the same as nailing a 2x4 over the top of the gutter does. It keeps everything out, including rain. It's not what I paid for.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: system doesn’t work. The rain water should be able to get into the gutter. I paid over $5,000 for their system. I shouldn’t have to pay a service fee. On Monday October 31, 2022 *******************, Regional Sales Manager for this company visited my house to provide an estimated for installing new gutters in my house. After a sale speech I explained him that I was still considering quotes from different vendors and he took his quote from $3,700 to $2,900 alleging the need to get new clients. I provided a security deposit in the amount of $500 and he presented me with the copy of the front page of the contract. The very next day I received a better quote and informed him my desire to cancel the contract (contract allows for 3 days cancellation). He confirmed he will not be able to match the price and agree to provide me with the refund. At the next day my check was deposited. Since last Wed Nov. 02 I have called him and sent numerous email to confirm when I can expect to receive my deposit back and always receive an excuse and for the last 2 days no response. I have copy of the exchange of messages. I would appreciate BBB mediation to get this resolve before taking legal action.Business Response

The contract with LeafFilter was made in Oct. 2020. The installer did not show up when they were supposed to. Also he did not finish the job.During the time he did come he said that he did not have the materials or that it was the wrong thing.. I ask that there be a final inspection. Someone came out and said everything was OK. He didn't get on the roof. Eight months later the screens were coming off. I called and with a lot of "run around" someone was sent to repair. He said several section were not installed properly. Soon after the roof at one section began to leak. I had someone take pictures of the condition of the screens. This person was a professional roofer and siding installer also gutter *******. The pictures showed gaps and openings. I have contacted the company several times since the first of Oct. An appointment was scheduled for Nov. 7. NO SHOW!!! I've called several times with the promise that someone will call. No call.Business Response

My Leaf Filter guards are in need of repair. They REQUIRE $95.00 to fix it. What does Lifetime guarantee mean? I paid 3 times to have them cleaned off. It's all very misleading. I still pay to to have "filters" cleaned off.Business Response

A representative came out said he couldn't do repair because I filed a complaint with BBB. ************ mislead me (verbally) or I would have not agreed to pay for damages to their product that I didn't do. I feel the $95.00 charge would be WORTHY of advising a new customer. Their action merely confirms their true reputation.Business Response

On 10/2/2018 Leaf Filter was Installed. I was told the installer would align, clean and reinforce the gutters where needed and that the Filter system would not be installed on the roof or under the shingles. I have a 2 story home and didn't want to go up to clean out the gutters any longer. Salesman seemed well informed and I signed the contract and felt like I'd never have to worry about the gutters ever again. Four years later on
09/03/2022 I noticed that my wood soffit and Fascia board had rotted through and water was dripping behind the gutters and running down the wall of my house. I opened a ticket (********-2) with Leaf Filter and they had their expert come out to investigate on September 12, 2022. He acknowledged the installation was done incorrectly by placing the filter under the shingles. He assured me that the installers that used to work for the company back when I had them installed were no longer with the company, as if I cared about that! He said he would send in his findings to the corporate office and they would make their determination to resolve. They were quick to respond with declining that they had any responsibility on my issue because there were issues with my gutter system and roofing previous to their installation in 2018.

Paid $2907.00 for initial installation.
Several estimates have been sent to the Leaf Filter company as they had required to rectify the issue.
The product was installed improperly causing wood damage to Roof/Soffit and Fascia boards.
I am seeking resolution to have roof repaired and soffit and fascia repaired as well.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They are lying about the installation being done correctly. Their brochure even states that their installation does not touch the shingles or the roof top as the attached pictures show all the issues going against their claim. Their filter system does touch the shingles and yes the filter is installed on the roof top and they made no adjustments to lowering the filter so that it only sat in the gutter. Not my fault. It is there's alone.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that even though the Leaf Filter company is not fullfilling my original complaint nor taking appropriate responsibility of their faulty installation causing soffit and fascia damage to my home, I am tired of fighting my word against their word and after this amount of time have decided to just get the work done by a professional team who stands by their work unlike Leaf Filter company.I only accept that they will uninstall and reinstall my Leaf Filter without charge, to keep my warranty, but I do not forgive their original faulty install which caused all this pain and suffering on my part financially. I am 68 years old, semi retired and making a lot less than I used to. Leaf Filter is shameless and they will never receive accolades from me ever again. I am sorry I recommended them to others in the four years since they originally installed their system.
I will take what they offer and not ever recommend them to anyone else again. However, that said, I will also require that on the reinstallation of their product that they have someone such as their "expert Investigator" come out and inspect their reinstall and I want him to sign off on it that everything is installed properly.

We have a written contract saying lifetime guarantee from clogging. We had moss on the roof that caused a black film to form on the gutter screens. The sales people at fairs and craft shows told us the screens have a lifetime warranty and would be replaced. I called to schedule the replacement and service said the screens are not guaranteed, just the gutter. They installed their screens on our existing gutters. The contract states
"Lifetime transferable moneyback guarantee no clog guarantee".
Water is not draining properly, the screens have turned black and the holes are clogged.Business Response

On Aug. 2, ******************************* to replace gutters on my rental property at **************************************************************. I signed the contract and paid a $100 deposit to have worked started the following Monday. On that day, a worker did come, but said he couldn't do that work because of problems with the roof. I called ************** 2 weeks later to request a return of my deposit and was told it would *********** weeks. I called again at the beginning of Oct. and was told they would have a manager call me. No one did. I called again, on Tues, 11/1, spoke to a person who said this would be handled by the ****** office and an email had been sent to them. He gave me the #**************. I called that day, left a message requesting help on this issue. There was no response. I called again today and there was no answer. I may have been a victim of a scam. However, I was told the check was being sent to the address of the original job, but that is not my address. I did tell them that, if the check had been sent there, I would never receive it and that it may be cashed fraudulently. I was told they would stop the payment of the check and issue a new one. We purchased the system on 10/5/2022. It was installed on 10/7/2022. **** **** stated that the 2 dents in the gutter would be fixed so the system would fix properly. They were not fixed and you could see the system. There is also a huge section on the back of the house that is warped/wavy and the system is completely showing! I tried calling/texting **** **** 5 times and got no response. October 24 I contacted the 800# and they sent someone out on 10/26/2022 to fix the 3 areas. However, he only fixed TWO and then JUST LEFT! He said nothing, he was just gone. I called again 10/28/2022 and was told that someone would be here 11/3/2022 between ****. I called the 800# at 1:37 asking where they were, they were not scheduled to come out. I wanted someone to all me to resolve this issue immediately and got no response.Business Response

We had Leaf fitter install a gutter protection system in March 2022 for $4000.00. We noticed there was water running on the inside of the fascia. I went up on the roof to check it out and became aware of 7 areas along the starter edge of shingles that had been broken off. Two pieces were broken off right up to the next row of shingles and five other pieces had been broken off as if someone had lifted the shingle and a chunk of the shingle broke off. No one else had been on the roof since the system was installed and I had cleaned the gutters prior to that and there was no damage to the shingles at that time. I called the company. They sent out someone promptly. He said he would put some caulking to keep the water out, took photos. Never heard anything back. Made several phone calls never received a return call. The person I spoke to when I called was in ********* and assured me each time they would reach out to the ************* On fourth call was informed my file said they had determined they were not responsible for the damage, that there was flashing and screws that they didnt install. The flashing had nothing to do with it. It would have been installed when the roof was redone 20 years ago underneath the new layer of shingles. I called again. Someone returned a call to my husband who didnt know what the problem was on the roof so couldnt really discuss the problem and they again maintained they didnt put the flashing there. As I said I cleaned the gutters in the past so I know it was very tight getting my hand underneath the shingles to get into the gutters so Im pretty sure they would have had a hard time getting their system in place without bending back the shingles hence breaking off pieces of shingles in that section. There is no way it could be wind or weather damage. At least one more call to try to discuss the problem with no reply. I have pictures of the damage.Business Response

The week of the. 21 st. That is great. I did not receive an email from them Which requested a response to whatever they put in the email .
