A dumpster was purchased for a roof replacement. There are several issues that occurred with this service
1. Representative said delivery would possibly occur later that day but the following morning for sure. That didn’t happen. It was another day late and the roofing crew already had the old roof on the ground. I was offered a $30 adjustment but that is far from what their inability to deliver cost me.
2. When the dumpster was dropped, it destroyed the water meter cover.
3. When I called for the pickup on a Friday, I was told it would be Tuesday. I was unaware of the delay when requesting a pickup.
4. I was charged with a significant overage which doesn’t make sense as the amount of weight from the new replacement roof was less that what was removed. The dumpster was barely half full as you can tell by the pictures after the cleanup.
I was charged a premium as it relates to comparable dumpster service and was willing to pay that for premium service. Unfortunately that’s not what was received.

We are disappointed to hear the customer did not have a more positive rental experience. While the service agreement provided to the customer states that we cannot guarantee delivery times or dates, our team provided a 30$ credit to account for this one day delay. While it is never our intention for damage to occur, our team has thoroughly reviewed this claim and determined that this damage was not caused by negligence, as placement instructions for the dumpster were followed, and that the property was not able to support the weight of the dumpster, truck and materials. While we make every effort to ensure timely and reliable delivery and pick up, factors beyond our control, such as weather, traffic and delays at the landfill can impact our service schedule, and the dumpster was removed as soon as possible. The customer was properly notified of the weight limit and pricing for weight above this limit both verbally and in email. Please know that while the dumpster may not have been visibly overfilled, materials disposed of that do not have a lot of volume can have heavy tonnage and impact the overall weight of the dumpster. We regret that the customer is dissatisfied, however, the outcome remains the same.Customer Answer

The fine print in the contract try to alleviate any and all responsibility of the company’s failures. I want all perspective customers to be aware if anything goes wrong with a dumpster transaction that it’s never the responsibility of budget dumpster. Furthermore, I hope to notify potential customers that if the dumpster is not secured and observed while waiting for a convenient pickup day to come, be prepared to pay extra for whatever may have been added after your loading was complete. Shop around for a local company.

Unfortunately, in circumstances like this where we can't come to an amicable agreement, this does govern the resolution. The business is a scam - they do not explain to you how they would like you to fill the dumpster until you have already requested for delivery. I have been repeatedly hung up on by this company, and they will not come and pick the dumpster up from my property. Furthermore, their delivery driver placed the dumpster backwards, so there was no way for me to walk my items in and mitigate the "overflow" they neglected to tell me about when ordering the rental. NEVER work with them ever. They will scam you out of your money and continue to charge your card indefinitely as they cease to answer your calls.

We are disappointed to hear this negatively impacted the customer's experience. Our records indicate this customer was in contact with our team members on multiple occasions via text, voicemails and phone discussions regarding the nature of the dumpster. Our team also placed a courtesy ETA call to the number on file as well. We understand the customer was not satisfied with the outcome of these conversions, but our team was in contact on multiple occasions to assist this customer. Our team makes every effort to ensure a successful rental experience, and in this case all proper protocols were relayed by our team at the time of booking. Additionally, the service agreement provided to the customer clearly details that: "If materials in your dumpster are piled higher than the walls or materials hang over the sides, there’s a charge for driver delay since an overloaded dumpster is unsafe to haul." The overloaded nature of the dumpster is in no way a direct result of the placement of the dumpster. The dumpster was successfully placed as requested on the driveway in the back. The positioning of the dumpster was done so to ensure the truck could properly maneuver without the risk of damage to the customer's or our own property. I was unable to fill it properly without access to the door. The supervisor admitted that the salesperson should have been clearer, but she is still insisting this is not their fault. She is saying that the dumpster placed inaccessibly was 'valid.' It seems they do this on purpose, limiting the information they provide, to end up charging customers additional fees. It is disputable and dishonest.

There is no way my overage on a one ton dumpster was over by 3 tons or 6,000 pounds. A single one ton dumpster cannot hold 8,000 pounds or 4 tons. They automatically debited from my account prior to letting me know it was over $420.

We requested a container drop off on our property. It was scheduled to arrive today. Our street is wide and clear and there is ample space for vehicles of all sizes: Trash trucks, containers, freight trucks, tow trucks and more.
We received a call from an individual saying that the driver came to our location and was unable to access our house or street and could not drop the container off, and that we would be charged a fee of $150.
Our street is ample, the driver was incompetent. We received no phone calls or communication and ended up having to cancel because they could not guarantee service. We did not authorize a fee to be charged.
They have not refunded us, and have charged a fee for their own company/driver's mistake.
We ended up finding a different company who dropped the exact container, and was prompt with their service.
The customer service has stated we agreed to terms, which is untrue - we did not agree to be charged for a driver's incompetence.

I had dumpster scheduled to be picked up by Budget dumpster on Friday February 24, 2023. The driver showed up on time to pick it up, upon picking up the dumpster the driver blew a hydraulic line one my residential driveway. Spilling a river of hydraulic fluid in my driveway and down the street into the sewer systems. I’m he driver then called his company had them come out and throw down some type of dust down to soak it up. They never came back to clean up the dust down product. I have emailed the company a few times with no to very little help. I have records of all the emails. And photos of all the stains. I will never contact this company again or will I ever recommend them. This is a terrible way to treat their customers

I ordered a dumpster from Budget Dumpsters from 2/17-2/27. I paid $508 for 10 days.
My dumpster was not delivered on the date that I paid for resulting in loss of money, time , and opportunity to use to the dumpster ( a crucial weekend that was coordinated between multiple people ). The delivery date was 2/17/23(Friday), but it was actually delivered mid day 2/20/23 (Monday)-resulting in a 3 day loss of the product I paid for.
Here are my concerns:
They offered me a refund of $25 .This amount is not acceptable to me for the following reasons:
1)I picked a company to deliver on a specific date , agreed to a contract and paid for a specific 10 day window. If it was questionable whether it would not be delivered by the set date , then I would never have gone with that company because I needed it for both weekends when the majority of the work could be done
2)Multiple family members drove from ** and ** and also paid for a hotel to do the work needed.
3)I ended up with only 1 out of 2 weekends so 50% less of what I paid for
4) I cannot extend the rental time due to the house being sold right after the 10 day period
5) I didn't even receive an email or message informing it wasn't delivered. That could have minimally prevented a drive from out of state
6) I paid $50 a day for 3 days for a product/ service that I never received. (Total bill was $508 for 10 days)
I am expecting a partial refund $150 . I was offered $25

Budget Dumpster’s website states a 10 rental. It does not say there may be circumstances “ beyond their control” that your rental period may be less. Had I known that was a possibility, I would have contracted with a different company as my project had a very specific time window. I paid $508 for 10 days that was suppose to include 2 weekends and was to begin on a Friday. I did not get the dumpster until the following Monday. I paid for 3 days without any service which would break down to approx $50 per day X 3 days that I did not have access to a product that I made for.
Budget Dumpster did refund one day, but is trying to justify that since delivery is not made on weekends , then they do not owe me a refund of those two weekend days. That is not acceptable.
Also, they never notified me that the delivery was not made on that Friday . Multiple family members drove from out of state and rented a hotel room to complete the project resulting in additional costs.

Budget Dumpster was not transparent regarding the 10 day agreement and conditions that could affect before payment was taken ; otherwise I wouldn’t have use their business my project was very time specific.Also, payment was based on 10 days , not 5 business days, even though they only deliver on weekdays. They are using this as an excuse on why they are not refunding the full 3days that I did not have the service that I paid for. Again,I paid for 10 days as their site advertises which is $50 per day ( never stated per “business day”)
They did return $75 which equals to 1.5 day refund, so I am still out $75

At the time of order, you were provided with an order summary with a bolded call-out to please make sure to read your rental agreement. This rental agreement was sent to your email immediately at the time of purchase, and is attached below. It states: "We cannot guarantee delivery times or dates. While we make every effort to ensure timely and reliable delivery and pick up, factors beyond our control, such as weather, traffic and delays at the landfill can impact our service schedule." If this policy was an issue our team would have worked with you, prior to the service being executed, to allow for alternative arrangements. Our team understands the frustration that can result from a delay and makes every effort possible to work in the customer's best interest.
In this instance, the rental period was extended to honor the original ten day period. However, this offer was not taken advantage of. Additionally, a retroactive discount was provided. When not satisfied with this offer, the credit was extended even further as a one-time courtesy. This credit of $75 is far beyond our standard refund policy for one-day service delays. Please know we take great consideration in establishing these standards for discounting.

I called Budget Dumpster on 01- 13- 2023 to reserve a dumpster to be delivered on 01-20-2023 and paid in full what was quoted $292.00. I called on 01-19-2023 to get a time frame as to when they would be here. They couldn't give me a time. So now it's Friday, I started calling them about 3pm and asked if they are on their way. They said they would pass it on to field and find out and give me a call back. Now it's 5pm no call nothing,called them back they said they have until 6pm. Saturday morning and I was told that the dumpster would be here on Monday. Monday called and asked what time should I expect them. Again no time frame. So the young lady said sarcastic you want to get a refund. I stated no I need my dumpster ASAP! Noon I called back and explained to the sales person the issue and he stated to request to speak to supervisor. I was transferred to CS and the lady said she would pass it on to a supervisor to call me back. In the meantime, a truck pulling a dumpster comes down the street and kept going. I was sitting in the window and saw them. I called them and again I was told they would check this out and call me back. So the supervisor calls and I told him they came down the street and kept going. Never knocked on the door nothing. so now the supervisor offered $30.00 to be refunded. So about 2 hours later I called back and cancelled the dumpster. The person I spoke with stated it will $150.00 fee for them coming out. I stated for them to drive by and not even knock on the door or even try to put the dumpster in the driveway. They said a car was in the driveway, if they looked at the right address but they couldn't have because they just drove down the street and keep going. On the 26th they refunded me BUDGET DUMPSTER WESTLAKE OH Card Purchase $262.00. So as of today they took BUDGET DUMPSTER *********** OH, US $150.00 out of account. I want my $150.00 to be refunded because they did not follow through with trying to deliver the dumpster.

I ordered 5 dumpsters in one day . I’m located in ********* ** as a small business , very small . Trying to make a living to feed my family . Got 5 dumpsters thinking i was going with the right move . Out of the 5 dumpsters nobody ever told me i couldn’t put more than 3 tons which is not a lot of weight . Also out of the 4 they never told us one was over weight . Two weeks later they are saying i owe 2,000 in over tonnage . Which i agree to pay if i went over weight and they had to pay that money at the dump i cannot argue . They are now threatening me to collections .
Here is the reason it got to this point . One of the dumpsters was in the driveway and needed to be pulled forward a little before trying to lift and the driver crushed the carport on property . We are doing the job for high end Realitor who wanted the job done asap . Right when they damaged the carport i sent pictures in like they said . They didn’t say anything about waiting to haul it off or anything . Well i waited and waited to hear back from my claim and they are now saying a month or so later i never sent it . So i resent it in a screenshot of the photo and proof i sent it first . Long story short they are saying deny right away now they got it again because they did not see it . Long story short i had a job to do . I took a whole house down next to the carport and didn’t scratch it . They damage it , we had to get it out of there regardless but we were going ti keep it to use for personal/ business use .The property owner needed everything gone asap .I was never told when anybody was coming to look from budget dumpster or anything to keep it there if i wanted too .I feel as i was treated very unfair and thinking of hiring a lawyer but do not have the 1,000s plus paying them in over-tonnage tomarrow because they are going to send me to collections but i can’t even get a sorry or a care about the damage , haul off , and dump of their damages .Now just because they cant look . It didn’t happen

We apologize for this negative experience as we strive to provide excellent service and truly regret that we missed the mark. After reviewing the initial sales call, our team has determined the customer was not properly notified of the overage billing stucture. As a result, we have refunded customer the cost of the overages, and he will no longer be faced with collections. As for the damage to the carport, the hauler promptly arrived at the site to assess the damage, however, the structure had been taken down.The damage claim was ultimately denied as there was no way to accurately evaluate the value of any damage caused by the container as it was removed prior to the damage assessment. We feel that this refund is an amicable solution to the customer's request, as no further consideration to the damage claim can be provided.

The dumpster from Budget Dumpster was scheduled to be delivered on Nov. 18, 2022 so my work crew could begin work on Nov. 19.
I received a confirmation email that the dumpster would be delivered on Nov. 18. But it did not arrive.
The dumpster was delivered on Nov. 23, long after my work crew was done and had left. The work crew had no choice but to leave the debris in my yard.
I had to hire another crew to pick up the debris and put it into the late dumpster. I called Budget Dumpster Customer Service many times from Nov.18 to Nov.23.
I was told various things from the delivery is on a 1 to 2 day window to it was already delivered, which it was not.
None of the individuals that I spoke with were authorized to do anything and I was always waiting on a callback from a Manager.
I called to get a 50% refund so that I could use half of the $650 that I paid for the dumpster to pay the 2nd crew I hired who had to pick up the debris and place it in the dumpster.
I was offered a $60 refund and that was it.

Nov. 18 - Dumpster did not arrive
Nov. 18 - Nov.23 - Called numerous times to ask where the dumpster was as my crew removed my old shingles from my roof but had no where to put the debris
Nov. 23 - dumpster arrives but work crew has completed work and left. Debris is in my yard at this point and needs to now be placed in dumpster.
Nov. 24 - Thanksgiving
Nov. 25 - I pay a 2nd crew to put debris from yard into dumpster ($320.00)
Nov. 28 - Call Budget Dumpster and ask for $325 Refund. Was told could only offer $60 refund

We sincerely apologize that we were delayed in fulfilling this dumpster delivery. Our team makes every attempt to relay delivery information and updates to the customer as soon as possible, and we communicated updates to the customer as they were made available. We are sympathetic to the frustrations associated with the delay and subsequently adjusted the rental period so the customer had the allotted time to utilize the dumpster. Although we are not liable for any expenses incurred due to delays per the service agreement, we have provided a $60 credit as a courtesy, and this is the fullest refund we are able to provide this customer.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I incurred an additional expense of $300 as a direct result of budgetdumpster's inability to deliver the dumpster on the designated date as provided by them.
The dumpster arrived 5 days late after the confirmed delivery date.
I reject the $60 refund and will only accept the $300 refund as reconciliation of this matter. This amount ($300) is the exact amount I paid the 2nd work crew to move the debris into the dumpster after it arrived.
