      I contacted Budget Dumpster from my sister's recommendation. I explained everything that I needed to do, and I asked 3 times if the 750 that I paid would cover everything. I did a small 1/2-bathroom renovation, and no other material to dump. (no concrete, no nothing)I got a bill for an extra $428.4, and the invoice is saying that I was covered only for 1T and that I have exceeded the weight limit of 1.68T. That weight is impossible to be that big- second, they just sell me something that expensive 750$ and I cannot prove that my container was impossible to be that big of a different. the representative who called me back was super rude, and he basically told me that I do not know what 2.6 t looks like. the trash for a 1/2 bathroom is impossible to weigh 2.6T.

      I rented a dumpster for seven days and scheduled the pick up for Friday, October 3rd. They came and took away the dumpster a day early on Thursday, October 2nd. We still had a few larger items to put in the dumpster and my son-in-law left work early to do that. When he arrived at the house the dumpster was gone.

      Budget Dumpster offered to bring back a dumpster OR give me a $150 credit. I asked for both because this situation created a huge problem for us. The house is a rental and my daughter and family are supposed to be out of the house by the weekend. They are bringing a dumpster sometime on Friday and can’t pick it up until Monday which is a problem, but we have to get rid of the remaining items. In addition, my son-in-law lost wages on Thursday.

      Budget Dumpster made a mistake which I understand happens sometimes, but a company should rectify the issue. ******, the customer service supervisor said they would give me the dumpster for seven more days. That is useless since we only need to get rid of the remaining items that would have gone into the original dumpster. Essentially, they are only fulfilling the first contract that I paid for and doing nothing to address the inconvenience and lost wages. I would like the $150 refund to address the problems this has created for us.

Typically we offer a one day removal credit of $30; in this instance our team increased the amount to $150 as a measure of good faith OR gave the customer the option to increase the rental period by a week at no additional charge.       I am very disappointed in the response from Budget
      Dumpster.  They made a mistake that
      resulted in lost wages and extreme inconvenience but did nothing to rectify
      that.  Offering to allow us to keep the replacement
      dumpster for an extra 7 days is a disingenuous remedy at best.  When you rent a dumpster for seven days you
      plan to get rid of your trash.  What
      would you do with an extra seven days – go find more trash somewhere?  Absolutely useless and I am sure they know that but can pretend they are offering something.  They failed to provide the service as agreed
      upon, causing major issues, and did not sufficiently rectify the
      situation.

      A 15 cubic yard dumpster was rented in August 2025. We paid $455 for the rental.
      In actuality, a 20 cubic yard dumpster was dropped off. Person dropping off said that was all he had.
      A month after rental, we received an additional invoice for $260. We were informed the weight of the disposed material weighed 3.89 tons which was 2.89 tons above the maximum allowed limit of 1 ton.
      Here is the summary of the issues.
      I repeatedly asked for proof that the stuff we disposed of weighed 3.89 tons or 7,780 pounds in total. It was quite shocking that the weight limit was exceeded by 5,780 pounds. However, all I was told was that it was a "valid overage" based on what was weighed at the landfill.
      The phone conversation I had with company salesperson (his cell phone) was recorded as I was emailed the recording. However, I do not recall when I was informed that the phone call was being recorded. I was eventually told the following - "When your husband first called our general sales line, the automated message disclosed that sales and customer service calls may be recorded. That notice applies to follow-up calls as well. We record calls only for training, service quality, and compliance purposes".
      However - even "if" that was the case, original phone call made by my husband was on a different phone than mine. At no point during my call with the salesperson, was I informed that the call was being recorded. When I place a call to general sales line, at no point is it mentioned that calls are being recorded.
      Couple of other items
      While the contract did list 1 ton weight limit for 15 cubic yard dumpster, this limit is significantly lower than what other dumpster companies have for same size dumpster. Just something I realized after the fact.

      We regret any surprise regarding the recent charge. The 1-ton weight limit was communicated during the initial call and is outlined in the service agreement. The overage charge is based on a certified weighmaster's independent, state-regulated measurement at the landfill, which confirmed the dumpster's final weight exceeded the pre-purchased limit. Supporting documentation from the landfill has been provided to validate this charge. All terms were properly disclosed, and the customer selected their allotted weight.  


      Our position is that the call in question was not recorded in a “surreptitious manner,” as prohibited by Section 14-2 of the statute. Prior to the call, the caller’s spouse had been informed that our company records calls for quality and training purposes. This notice supports our good-faith belief that any subsequent call involving the same household was not recorded secretly. Moreover, the call related to a commercial transaction (the ordering of a dumpster) rather than a private or personal matter, which further distinguishes it from the type of “private conversation” contemplated by the statute.

      The necessary supporting documentation from the landfill was not provided to validate this charge.  
      When I received notification of the additional charge one month after the rental, I repeatedly asked for proof to validate the additional charge.  Nothing was provided.  All I was told repeatedly was the additional charge was valid and must be paid.
      Only after a complaint was filed with BBB did Budget Dumpster provide a weight ticket.  The weight ticket was from ********* ********* located in ****** ****, IL.  The weight ticket had a ticket number and a customer number.
      I repeatedly asked for proof that the ticket number was associated with the dumpster that was at my property and only includes what we disposed of.  Nothing has been provided to-date.  
      I contacted ********* ********* at the phone number that was on the ticket. I was shuffled to various individuals (including one that said she worked in the collections department) and subsequently that ultimately led to some unknown mailbox, and I had no choice but to hang up.  Quite coincidentally, I received another email from Budget Dumpster literally as I was hanging up on the phone call attempt with ********* *********.  
      Budget Dumpster continues to repeatedly bring up that the 1-ton limit was communicated in the initial call and the service agreement.  The 1-ton limit is not part of my complaint.  I was simply pointing out a 1-ton limit is significantly lower than what competitors offer for a 15 yard dumpster.  

      Regarding the recorded phone call:
      The commercial transaction was between me and Budget Dumpster.  My husband simply made the initial contact (on a different phone than mine) to get general information on dumpster rental.  
      My first phone call was to the cell phone of the Budget Dumpster salesperson.  I found out a month later that this phone call was recorded.  At the time of the call, I was not informed the phone call was being recorded. 
      I placed a subsequent phone call to the Budget Dumpster general line in early September 2025 after receiving the unexpected second bill.  There was no recording on that day stating the conversation would be recorded for training purposes.
      The Budget Dumpster representative recently informed me that my second bill will be turned over to collections if I do not pay.  A bill in collections would have irreparable harm to my credit rating.   So ultimately, Budget Dumpster will get their money after all.  $715 for a 15 yard dumpster (although a 20 yard was actually delivered).

      I am filing this complaint regarding Dumpsters.com/Budget Dumpsters, LLC, located at *** ********** *** ********* ** *****, for what I believe to be unethical and deceptive business practices.

      On 7/7/25, we officially closed out a project and requested the dumpster be removed. It was not picked up until 7/9/25. At that time, all agreed-upon payments had been made, and there was no outstanding balance. Nearly two months later, on 8/19/25, the company charged our account an additional $560 without notice, authorization, or explanation.

      This unexpected charge came long after the project was finalized and paid in full. I have reached out to the company to dispute this charge and spoke with ********* ********. It took her over a week to find the supposed ticket where she pulled this overage amount. We cannot charge a customer two months later for a supposed overage. On several occasions they have tried to charge a different rate other than what was originally stated. Multiple times they have tried to change their daily rate and once confronted it seems to change again. I have asked multiple times to speak with someone above ********* ********, however, she states there is no one to speak with or anyone above her to address my issue.

      This conduct raises serious concerns about the company’s business practices. Charging clients after projects are closed—without clear consent, justification, or proper communication—appears both unethical and potentially unlawful.

      I am requesting the following from the BBB’s involvement:
      1. A full investigation into Budget Dumpster, LLC
      2. A complete refund of the unauthorized $560 charge.
      3. Assurance that this company will cease similar practices with other customers.

      I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter and protecting other consumers from similar experiences.

      We understand that it can be frustrating to receive a charge after a delay. We want to assure that the charge for the dumpster's weight is valid and was applied in accordance with our company policies. Here is a breakdown of our billing process for overweight dumpsters: We must wait for an official weight confirmation from the landfill to determine the actual weight of the dumpster compared to the predicted weight. This can sometimes take several weeks. If an overage applies, the card on file is automatically billed. We work to get these fees to customers as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience the delay may cause. A dedicated representative has already spoken with the customer to explain these terms and procedures, and as a gesture of goodwill, they even provided a credit to remedy the delay in the dumpster's removal. The records from the landfill were provided to the customer and validate the overage amount that was charged. We are transparent about our policies across all our customer touchpoints, and the charge on the account is valid.

No helpful communication and no, they did not credit us. They did not offer any solution.       As previously communicated, we must wait for an official weight confirmation from the landfill to determine the actual weight of the dumpster. This can take up to 120 days depending on the landfill, and this time frame is clearly stated in the customer's service agreement.  The records from the landfill were provided to the customer and validate the overage amount that was charged. This charge is valid and we have taken significant steps to work towards a satisfactory resolution by waiving extra fees; there will be no additional credits provided.

      Misrepresented size of dumpster ordered. It was not 15 foot long or 4.5 foot high. It was also in poor condition. Attempts were made to resolve issue with Budget Dumpster, they would not do anything and told me I would have to pay $*** for pick up if I did not want the dumpster, Which gave me no choice for but to keep the dumpster. Then over 3 weeks later they charged me $** more without confirming documentation there was an overage. Also they picked up the dumpster 3 days early and did not give me credit. I have had dumpsters in the past and have paid less without any problems. This company appears to be very dishonest and only after money. They do not care about customer satisfaction at all.

      On 08/12 received phone call from driver 7:44am, he was at the house. advised where to place.
      When scheduled the dumpster ****** discussed measurement, and advised there was no issue with the driveway size.
      10:40 same morning, I drive to location where dumpeter is to be, No dumpster.

      I should NOT be charged a missed delivery fee because the driver did not leave. ****** assured me there was no plroblem with measurement.

      If they are going to charge the fee, I should not of been advised NO PROBLEM with measeurement!

      Date of transaction 7/28/25, there company dumpster driver deliberately placed or dropped dumpster causing limited access into and out of our driveway. Driver never attempted to contact us as where to place dumpster, blocking other access to enter garage Representative on phone refused to replace accurate setting location of dumpster without another payment of $195.00 and would send driver out today, we said no way so come and remove dumpster, they said they wouldn't move it until the 7/30/25. This is extortion on the highest degree. Maybe federal charges should be filed against this company. This company ethics is very suspicious. We paid over $400.00 for this service and never used it because of dumpster placement

      On June 18, 2025, I made a payment of $380 to Budget Dumpster for a dumpster rental service. The transaction was completed using the method required by the company, and I have proof of payment available upon request.

      ***** *********** The dumpster was never delivered as scheduled or promised by Budget Dumpster.

      After reporting the failed delivery, I contacted the company and was assured that I would receive a full refund.

      Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received any refund as of today. The company has not responded to my recent inquiries, and the lack of action has caused significant inconvenience.

      I’ve placed multiple orders over the phone with this company for 30-yard dumpsters with empty and return service. Initially, the rentals included a 2-ton weight limit. Later, they offered me a discounted rate for being a repeat customer, which I appreciated. However, I didn’t realize they had quietly reduced the weight limit to just 1 ton until I received four separate invoices a month later—all showing significant overage charges.

      According to the invoices, each dumpster exceeded the 1-ton limit by 6 to 7 tons, resulting in hefty additional fees. No weight certificates were provided, and I find it hard to believe I was that far over the limit. It makes little sense to rent a large 30-yard dumpster that comes with the same minimal weight allowance as a much smaller 10-yard one.

      This company appears to lure customers in with low prices but includes only 1 ton of weight, regardless of dumpster size—which feels misleading and unfair.

      On top of that, they failed to deliver or pick up the dumpsters on schedule several times, which caused a lot of frustration.

      In May/June, 2025, I ordered a 30-ton (large) dumpster for our house remodel, and I asked repeatedly that the driver call me when coming to the house so I can meet them there to help identify the delivery location and minimize the chance of property damage. The initial drop-off went smoothly -- the driver called me, I met them at the property, and nothing was damaged. However, the subsequent empty-and-return did not go well -- the driver did not call, and they ended up driving over our neighbors retaining wall. I noticed the damage the same day, and I reported the claim to Budget Dumpster. At that time, I reiterated the need to call me when making a pickup/delivery. However, a few days later, when the 2nd dumpster was picked up, they again did not call me and this time the pulled the Internet wire off the neighbors house. They are referring the initial retaining wall damage to a subcontractor (no word on the resolution), but they refuse to process the claim for the internet because they say the Internet company will fix this at no cost. Meanwhile, our neighbors went 1-1/2 days without Internet while working from home. I would like Budget Dumpster to reimburse our neighbor for lost work and to offer me a small credit to cover my time resolving this issue with the neighbor, but they refuse. We have paid about $1,400 for this service, and I would not recommend anyone use them for fear that, if there is a damage issue, they will claim they cannot guarantee the driver will call and will not work to make it right. I would Budget Dumpster to reimburse me $200 to cover the cost of the $100 gift card I gave to our neighbors and the time/energy I have put into making this right.

      We sincerely apologize for the property damage and resulting frustration to both customer and neighbor. While renting heavy equipment does come with inherent risk, we are sympathetic to the fact the customer feels this could have been avoided with a call. Our team is not required to give a courtesy call, and we make every effort to accommodate these requests; given the many stops our drivers make in a day this is sometimes not feasible. In an effort to make things right, we have issued refunds for the customer's overages, which meets his desired settlement.
