1 starRotor Rooter is a big rip off. I had a problem with replacing a shower cartridge in my shower. A simple process but I have arthritis and was not able to remove the cartridge which was a little stubborn. I had everything broken down and all the plumber had to do was pull the cartridge out and slide the new one in and re-assemble $483.00. I did have a $75.00 off coupon which brought it down to around $350.00, still absolutely way over priced for the job. I had the water turned off and had to leave town that same day so I had no choice but to hire them. NEVER AGAIN BUYER BEWARE this company is a RIP-OFFRoto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

1 starI had to have water mitigation complete after a neighbor’s pipe burst and flooded my home. The mitigation team was wonderful however the reason for the one star review is because of the accounting and billing department. My insurance was going to pay the bill however, they required various documents (W9, photos invoice, etc) in order to pay. When I emailed the contacts listed on my invoice (Cherie and Kenisha), I learned that they actually sent these documents to the wrong insurance company. I copied them directly onto an email with my insurance agent to try and get these documents sent over. They never responded with the documents. I also followed up separately with them asking to have the documents forwarded directly to me and I was completely ignored. A few days later, Kenisha finally reached out threatening to send me to collections, even though I made multiple attempts with her to get my documents so that I can pay this bill. I finally got the documents. When I called their office to pay over the phone, it went to voicemail even though it was during their office hours. I proceeded to send a check via mail but that hasn’t stopped them from calling my mom (even though they have my phone number) asking for payment. For a company that has to work with home insurance companies everyday, it is disappointing at how difficult they made this process.Review fromLaura C

1 starMy elderly Father lives alone and when the pipe in the wall of the garage had a leak he called Roto-Roote because he thought they would be good. By the time they showed up hours later I had arrived and cleaned up all the water and turned off the main valve. The person from Roto-Rooter cut into the sheet rock and left it all over the floor. He then turned on the water and it leaked and flooded all over again, this time with sheet rock floating in it.
He left it that way and then I was baraged with another part of their company that insisted and pressured us to get it cleaned up through them at an additional cost.
Here we are 4 months later and again after paying someone to repair the sheet rock where the leak was (by a separate company) the same pipe is leaking again inside the wall and they gave us a window of when they would come and "repair" it. But, not without that stupid restoration high pressure person just showing up without notice pressuring us to have them give us a quote to clean it up again. Ridiculous! I would never ever call this company for anything!!!!
You'll be sorry if you call them.Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

1 starA nightmare, i had a backup sewer line and flood my basement, called roto rooter and the came with the snake, i paid 3k for the service with my debit card, than he offered me to dry the basement witch i was going to do my self but they told me only pay 1000 deductible and your insurance will pay the rest i said no because 1000 dollars its already a lot for that job but i end up doing since insurance was paying but i told them im not paying 1 dime more and he said , no from now on we deal with insurance not you.
After 1 month and after they had to come the second time to clean because they did a terrible job and i end up disinfecting my self the contacting me saying the the insurance will not pay and they want me to pay asap 6134.08 or they have to put a lien on my property. I told them i was very clear that i didn't want to pay 1000 deductible but they forced me and end up paying the deductible and not a dime more.4000 dollars was already a lot for what it was done ( 3000 for snake and 1000 deductible) now they after me for another 6134 total 10.134 for a hours work that i had to do it my self after the mess they left.Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

1 starI had a terrible experience with this water restoration company. Their work was shoddy and I noticed they cut corners on the job. They left a mess behind and didn't even put the doors back up. They took all of my door stoppers and caused even more damage to my powder room sink, islander, and cabinets. Furthermore, they caused even more damages than the water did.
I wish I could give this water restoration company zero stars for their dishonesty. Also, they lied on the contract they submitted to my home insurance company and tried to charge me for services that they never even performed. They stated they used $600 worth of trash bags when they carried out the items in their hands. They even stated that their equipment was at my residence for longer than it was. To make matters worse, they left my house in disarray.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. They caused more problems than they fixed, and they were dishonest in their dealings with me and my home insurance company. Stay far away from them.Review fromChris S.

1 starCheats. Shower handle broke off. My normal company was busy so gave Roto Rooter a shot. Technician comes out and looks at issue. Quoted a price of $452.00 with invoice. I agree. I purchased the new hardware from Lowes. He indicated he could not guarantee proper installation being "unfamiliar" with brand. Clearly garbage since it was a national brand standard hardware. He says he'll be back after he goes "shopping". An hour and a half later he comes back and just walks into my house without knocking. He shows up with the cheapest looking hardware you'd see in some roadside motel. Told him I didn't want that showerhead but rest was fine. Works two hours and twice asked for my assistance with actual work. At the end the invoice now reads $1,452.00. Obviously upset and trapped I had to pay. After he left, I found piping debris in the closet with access panel. I complained and spoke to the general manager. He immediately dismissed anything I was saying with "I don't know what to tell you sir, our service prices come from a corporate book." $1452.00 itemized as (rounded as $1000.00 labor and $452.00 parts). Called it a mixup $452.00 turned into $1,452.00. I paid $150.00 for the parts at *****. A two hour job. My normal plumber charged $2500 to put in a half bath in 4 years ago that took two full days. Had he quoted $1452.00 I would have said no. Funny how $452.00 didn't become anything other than $1452.00. Putting a 1 in front of that figure seems pretty easy after I signed to approve work. As I started with... CHEATS.Review fromDaniel S.

1 starWe had a basic bathroom sink clog, it took 15 minutes to fix and they charged us $411.00!! We paid it not really knowing what it should actually cost, but knew in our hearts it was too much!! A month later our drain for the washing machine was clogged, we called a different plumber, *******, $93.00 or free. Unfortunately he couldn't unclog the drain so it was free. Still needing a plumber we called ************, they came out, pulled a chunk of tree roots out of the drain and snaked it, 15 minutes later the drain was clean! He charged us 144.00!!! We will never call Roto Rooter again, needless to say and will spread the word. We are an elderly couple and were ripped off by Roto Rooter!Review fromDaniel W

1 starSuper disappointed! Be wary! As much as I appreciate the convenience of Roto-Rooter and have used them in the past, I was very disappointed this time, almost violated. For less than 2 hours of work I was charged $875 of labor. I was charged $175 in parts which I looked up and the parts prices were under $45. Also I had to cut the floor open and repair it myself. They didn't even make a permanent fix. They used rubber boots in the area that they knew I would have to cover up and have no access to. I'm okay with the jacked up parts prices because that's unfortunately what companies do, but I am very disappointed with the labor number. I called to ask about the cost and the worker said they charge a flat rate whether it's 5 minutes or a 6-hour job. Somone from corporate called because of my dissatisfaction. He too was good with charging $400 per hour. At least he was transparent by stating they jack up prices on parts by 250%. Very disappointing. Be very careful when you use roto-rooter.Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

1 starI highly recommend anyone to avoid this company for plumbing work. Our experience with them was more akin to that of a sleazy salesmen than a reputable and professional plumber. They took advantage of us in the midst of serious plumbing issues by promising a speedy job to resolve all our problems at a very high price; and then the complete service was not even provided as originally agreed due to them breaking a section of pipe under our slab. When we requested a revised invoice they gave no clear or detailed information as to how they arrived at the final cost and actually categorized over a third of the total job cost as "Other" with no further explanation. When you question their invoicing practices they just repeatedly refer to the company pricing matrix that they have to follow and give no further detail whatsoever. This is unlike our experience with other professionals who itemize each aspect of a bill in detail and don't just plug large amounts as "Other." Not to mention, almost all of the employees we interacted with throughout the process were either inexperienced, unprofessional, or both. They even showed up late on inspection day and missed the inspector resulting in 5 days delay on the job. The company never made any concessions based on how the job went until we complained. Once we did they said they wanted to make us happy. We clearly laid out what that would take and supported our request with a letter and very reasonable itemized breakdown. They ultimately ended up only giving whatever they wanted anyway and telling us that's it. Basically enough to say they did something but still rip us off. I wish our experience with Roto Rooter Tampa on no one and highly advise anyone with plumbing needs to consider other more professional local companies.
